I'm originally from UK so this really makes me hungry. Back in England fish & chips was my go to, there the chip shops sell curry sauce (as you might have seen) and I would pour curry sauce all over my fish & chips. Great video as always, love seeing the channel grow, it's well deserved.

In the north west of England where I am from it is also common to get a pie in place of a fish for your chippy tea as we call it. We also typically put gravy onto our chippy too instead of tomato sauce or curry sauce. I think traditionally it is eaten on a Friday but you can eat it whenever you want. Glad you enjoyed it 👍

I had fish and chips at my favorite pub this past week and it was not great. They used the same batter for the fish that they used to make the hushpuppies. I was not a fan. Yours looked great however. Great video!!

Another relaxing and great video Mark. It's funny you mentioned expectations in this video, that is so true, if you lower your expectations with food or anything in life, it makes life and the experience much much better. I never forget the time I took a vacation to California (I live in Ohio) and I wanted to visit Beverly Hills, well my expectations of it was super high, because on television they make Beverly Hills look perfect but when I got there, I was disappointed because in real life, Beverly Hills is not nearly as nice as it is on television lol. Don't get me wrong, Beverly Hills is nice, but on television they make it look like the best place on Earth lol.

Hey Mark, once again a great video. Fish on Friday! :) Too funny, I was just thinking this past week about making fish n chips. We have plenty of restaurants where I live in CT, but none around me that make a really solid fish n chips...have to travel down to the shore for those places. I think I may just whip this up for dinner tonight, I'm sure my kids will love it. I use a simple beer batter (from Quang Tran's channel) and it's amazing and simple. (btw...I use to be in the culinary years ago too...hard work but very rewarding.) Enjoy your weekend and look forward to your next video.

In Scotland if you go to the fish and chip shop and get say fish or a sausage or even a hamburger accompanied by chips, it’s called a “supper. So fish & chips, you would ask for a fish supper. Anyway where in live in Glasgow, there is a fish and chip shop (or a chippy) in Glasgow talk, called enzo’s. They do a fish supper (haddock being the fish). I get what is called a special fish supper, the batter is different from the normal one. Seriously you would really enjoy that. It melts in your mouth. It only costs around £9:50, which is around $12.00.

Your prices sound comparable to where I live on Vancouver Island. Hey there Mark, haven't watched this video yet. I'm sitting here on a Friday night listening to The Division Bell, and I can't help but think about you now. To be honest, as a much younger student of it all, I find that The Wall was more of a pet project of Waters' than it really was of the band. Comfortably Numb aside, obviously. I can't believe you went to see DSOM on your 18th birthday. That blows my friggin mind, you just don't know. And you're just a bit younger than my parents. I'm 43, and my current playlist is pretty much (and has been for years) mostly composed of the bands you went over on your Vinyl video. The stories about you making your own recording studio was just epic as well. What a cool life! It's just so nice to hear from you, and to listen to you tell stories about your past. You could absolutely be an author, even if it were fiction. You are that good at telling a story. I was going through some of your videos that I fell asleep through over the week, and I can't help but to reflect upon your friend Brian, and how much that must have hurt losing him at such an early age (36???). That is just heartbreaking, but I am so glad that you shared the story with us all. I, speaking for myself, can share what must have been some of that grief with you. Your CRAZY story about Marcel, I mean WOW. I did NOT see that turn coming. That situation was messed up from the start, apparently, but to be honest...Which would be worse? That, or living in a foster home? That's a hard one for me. At least in his environment, he met with you and the guys. I'm sorry for the never-ending stream of consciousness and reflection based upon your stories, but man, when I say that I listen to them and I appreciate them, I really mean that. Thank you so much for all of the work you put into this. I don't think you know what it means to a lot of us. I'm so very happy that you've reached retirement, and can start really enjoying life without the rigors of getting there. Congratulations, and we're all so lucky to have been exposed to your stories of life and experience. Please give your mother love from a far away stranger the next time you see her. Wow Lloyd, so nice to hear all this. I have been able to carve out a decent life for myself with very few bumps in the road. I have to say I agree with what you say about Roger Waters and the Division Bell album...then again he may have been a driving force throughout the bands history. Dark side of the Moon concert blew me away,. I have said many times that concert could rival anything today for lights, sound and perfection. You had an interesting perspective on the Epic Story concerning Marcel. You are right, his situation could have been worse had he ended up on the streets somewhere.. One of those situations where you take the good with the bad. I appreciate your kind words regarding my late friend Brian and my mom who will be 97 in May. Took her shopping a couple days ago and as slow as she is walking she still has all her marbles. You know Lloyd, it is words like yours that inspire me to keep going. Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the date if there was one provided about when this trip was, I like to listen to your videos while I'm at work(: I find Dick's Fish and Chips is very hit or miss, they used to be located on a floating dock and I think the vibe of the restaurant was better than the food. Hello Jarod, I have never had fish and chips in Campbell River but I enjoy visiting there, lovely town. Last time I was there was when Linda and I did a trip to Quadra island a few years back. FYI - pickerel, pike and Muskie are all in the same family - mostly different sized. Walleye is not the same. The world record pickerel is 9lbs 6oz. I think what your dad caught must have been either a pike or musky.

Hey Mark, once again a great video. Fish on Friday! :) Too funny, I was just thinking this past week about making fish n chips. We have plenty of restaurants where I live in CT, but none around me that make a really solid fish n chips...have to travel down to the shore for those places. I think I may just whip this up for dinner tonight, I'm sure my kids will love it. I use a simple beer batter (from Quang Tran's channel) and it's amazing and simple. (btw...I use to be in the culinary years ago too...hard work but very rewarding.) Enjoy your weekend and look forward to your next video.

In Scotland if you go to the fish and chip shop and get say fish or a sausage or even a hamburger accompanied by chips, it’s called a “supper. So fish & chips, you would ask for a fish supper. Anyway where in live in Glasgow, there is a fish and chip shop (or a chippy) in Glasgow talk, called enzo’s. They do a fish supper (haddock being the fish). I get what is called a special fish supper, the batter is different from the normal one. Seriously you would really enjoy that. It melts in your mouth. It only costs around £9:50, which is around $12.00.

Your prices sound comparable to where I live on Vancouver Island. Hey there Mark, haven't watched this video yet. I'm sitting here on a Friday night listening to The Division Bell, and I can't help but think about you now. To be honest, as a much younger student of it all, I find that The Wall was more of a pet project of Waters' than it really was of the band. Comfortably Numb aside, obviously. I can't believe you went to see DSOM on your 18th birthday. That blows my friggin mind, you just don't know. And you're just a bit younger than my parents. I'm 43, and my current playlist is pretty much (and has been for years) mostly composed of the bands you went over on your Vinyl video. The stories about you making your own recording studio was just epic as well. What a cool life!
It's just so nice to hear from you, and to listen to you tell stories about your past. You could absolutely be an author, even if it were fiction. You are that good at telling a story. I was going through some of your videos that I fell asleep through over the week, and I can't help but to reflect upon your friend Brian, and how much that must have hurt losing him at such an early age (36???). That is just heartbreaking, but I am so glad that you shared the story with us all. I, speaking for myself, can share what must have been some of that grief with you. Your CRAZY story about Marcel, I mean WOW. I did NOT see that turn coming. That situation was messed up from the start, apparently, but to be honest...Which would be worse? That, or living in a foster home? That's a hard one for me. At least in his environment, he met with you and the guys.
I'm sorry for the never-ending stream of consciousness and reflection based upon your stories, but man, when I say that I listen to them and I appreciate them, I really mean that. Thank you so much for all of the work you put into this. I don't think you know what it means to a lot of us. I'm so very happy that you've reached retirement, and can start really enjoying life without the rigors of getting there. Congratulations, and we're all so lucky to have been exposed to your stories of life and experience.
Please give your mother love from a far away stranger the next time you see her.

Wow Lloyd, so nice to hear all this. I have been able to carve out a decent life for myself with very few bumps in the road. I have to say I agree with what you say about Roger Waters and the Division Bell album...then again he may have been a driving force throughout the bands history. Dark side of the Moon concert blew me away,. I have said many times that concert could rival anything today for lights, sound and perfection. You had an interesting perspective on the Epic Story concerning Marcel. You are right, his situation could have been worse had he ended up on the streets somewhere.. One of those situations where you take the good with the bad. I appreciate your kind words regarding my late friend Brian and my mom who will be 97 in May. Took her shopping a couple days ago and as slow as she is walking she still has all her marbles. You know Lloyd, it is words like yours that inspire me to keep going. I do love making these videos but it nice to hear that so many people appreciate my content. Thanks for your continued support my dear friend and I am glad you still have both your parents. Thanks for the video. I have to wonder as I live on Vancouver Island myself if the fish and chips place you were referring to is Dick's Fish and Chips in Campbell River? Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the date if there was one provided about when this trip was, I like to listen to your videos while I'm at work(: I find Dick's Fish and Chips is very hit or miss, they used to be located on a floating dock and I think the vibe of the restaurant was better than the food.

Hello Jarod, I have never had fish and chips in Campbell River but I enjoy visiting there, lovely town. Last time I was there was when Linda and I did a trip to Quadra island a few years back.
