  • As a kid growing up I used to study the best swimmers and what they did so that I could copy them . What I found is that when swimming butterfly, the great like Michael Phelps and Caeleb Dressel do something very interesting when they breathed and also with their chest when they pulled. These two simple things that can improve your butterfly I have dubbed the "chin lift" while breathing and the "chest dip" while pulling in this video. The techniques taught in this video when I first implemented them in my own stroke as a swimmer dropped my 100 yard butterfly down from a 1:01 to a :55 . Remember to be patient in your stroke when focusing on new aspects of your butterfly , I'm confident these techniques will help things click and you will truly fly!

I was the closest man in the world to the Olympic trials cut to not have it in 2020. Broke my heart. Thank you thank you kind sir. I will be using this shit at 6 am tomorrow to get ready for big ten champs. I want to go 53.5 and take home my state record for my club coach so bad as well as get the trials cut. Will post update when I do.

Shared with the hs swimmer who was too rigid with his fly and needed to “ see” what the forward motion should be like. His was more vertical instead of being horizontal/parallel with the water. That dolphin kick should help to get that dolphin motion..

It’s painful when you sprint with this, but the outcomes are amazing! Took me a little while to grasp this technique, but I’ve got it down. I’m 13 and fly is my stroke. Hopefully I can go sub

This is fantastic. You're basically me 😅 analytical to the bone and slightly weird but you're smart and have a solution-based mentality that creates progressive training for something that is even new to you.

¡Excelentemente bien ejemplificado Lucas! Practicar el movimiento fuera del agua me dió otra perspectiva de cómo coordinar todos los movimientos a la vez. Y por supuesto que practicaré primero ese ejercicio antes de nadar mi mariposa.
