    I was the closest man in the world to the Olympic trials cut to not have it in 2020. Broke my heart. Thank you thank you kind sir. I will be using this shit at 6 am tomorrow to get ready for big ten champs. I want to go 53.5 and take home my state record for my club coach so bad as well as get the trials cut. Will post update when I do.

    Shared with the hs swimmer who was too rigid with his fly and needed to “ see” what the forward motion should be like. His was more vertical instead of being horizontal/parallel with the water. That dolphin kick should help to get that dolphin motion..
    Incredibly helpful video for how to smooth out the stroke. Good job!!!!

      @@siskatrainingsystems yeah, I started swimming two months ago and since I go deep into details like you do, I'm already at butterfly. I tried to do this hopping motion with my chin touching the surface of the water yesterday and then dipped my head and chest down to create that undulating movement, and I gotta say, it's really difficult, considering I can't breathe properly yet. I'm literally out of breath in 10 meters 😅

  • @tomatomb8704
    @tomatomb8704 3 года назад +2

    You did a difefrent motion in the pool then on land. In the pool you basically did butterfly body/kick with the chin up the whole time which is not only damn near impossible but a good way to mess up your spine.
    I'm convinced that nobody on youtube actually knows how to teach Butterfly :-/

    • @siskatrainingsystems
      @siskatrainingsystems  3 года назад +1

      Don't be so negative man, the point of the land demonstration was to show the rhythm , of course it's different in the water...copy that motion on land and in the water the two beat kick will develop, I've had great success with many swimmers trying to learn butterfly this way...

    • @tomatomb8704
      @tomatomb8704 3 года назад

      @@siskatrainingsystems I try not to, I'm just a realist. I appologise if i come across as negative.
      I'm a swimming teacher myself and I'm sick of seeing people throw their money away to people who haven't got a clue and practices that simply don't work.
      I'm not saying yours don't by the way .
      If you could send a video of one of your students doing fly that would be great!

    • @siskatrainingsystems
      @siskatrainingsystems  3 года назад +1

      @@tomatomb8704 no worries , I see the passion coming through and that's great! This vid is more geared towards competitive swimmers and not so much people learning to swim butterfly for the first time, though complete newbies can gain from this video as well...for those new to butterfly I would suggest watching from 5:30 in this video...there you will also see one of my clients ... keeping it simple is the key ...chest down but goes up ...then repeat and repeat some more ..once you catch that rhythm slowly start adding the arms within the same rhythm...all the best!

  • @Dean-h5p7n
    @Dean-h5p7n 6 месяцев назад

    Looks kind of un-natural to use so much energy with the arms to pull your body out of the water and then kick. Should it be the kick to propel you out of the water?

    • @siskatrainingsystems
      @siskatrainingsystems  6 месяцев назад

      Exactly the arms have nothing to do with pulling the arms out of the water it's the undulation of the body that causes all this and the arms and legs just follow ..
