    Nice review. This is, by far, the best one I've seen on this particular unit.

    This is an amazing review. Very detailed, well-presented, and right to the point. I feel very informed about this device any you even touched on the 2X minimum zoom concern I had about this device.

      @@targettamers I really like the direct, confident and straightforward style of all of these Target Tamers videos. And very thorough, touching on things I didn't think of and others don't mention. I can tell you like making these videos. Nice job. I'm a fan of it.

    The CR123 battery and 2 hour run time kills it for me. The size of this thing should fit an 18650. Thanks for the review.

      It is a very poor battery runtime! The saving grace for me was the extended battery pack that gives it a 5 hour runtime, but it is at an additional cost. Thanks for sharing what the deal breaker is for you! That's a legit concern - Tina.

      External battery is a GREAT feature, the internal ones if they die the whole unit becomes useless (in a grid down situation), also I heard a story that some company stopped selling a model to civilians and a guy was trying to send it in for a battery replacement but they wouldn't honor it, so it became a $3000 useless brick...for the Odin LT you can just buy some rechargeable CR123's and use your solar panel to charge them if need be! Do you honestly think you'll be using these more than 2 hours at a time??...😉

      I sent this back to ATN as it was a loaner for field testing only. Though I really liked it, I would want to get my hands on an AGM Taipan with either the 256 (cheaper) or the 384 (same-ish cost?) resolution models. I think for the money, they're worth looking at. Thanks for the feedback! - Tina

    Lacks all the bells and whistles which makes it well over-priced. All three should be under $1000.

      Simple is good, less shlt to break, especially important in a SHTF scenario. This is also why revolvers are still relevant!! 😉

    This is not worth the money at all. all you are getting is the ability to look around "faster" and thats it. everything its lacking is done on purpose because they dont want to flood the market with gear that will make their other gear obsolete. This is why they put out shit like this.

      Got your point, but, in most situations where I would be using thermal imaging simplicity is pretty important to me. Too many buttons, options, and settings can be a distraction from what I am actually there to do.

      The point is, with so few features, it should cost less than it does. It's overpriced for what it is.

    Do I need to wear glasses to use these? I'm assuming not because it's an image presented on a screen but I've never dabbled before and my eyes suck 🤣🤣

    • @targettamers
      @targettamers Год назад

      Lol! The adjustable diopter will help to correct for some visual acuity, but I'd try them with glasses on and adjust as necessary. The diopter is a separate knob to the focus knob. I didn't need my glasses but I did use the diopter to make it sharp for my eyes. If you're concerned about eye relief, at night you can remove the eye cup completely and still reasonably see the display. Hope that helps - Tina
