What a tough match! But Kimura handled the long pips very well on the backhand indeed.
There are many female players at competitive level in Japan using Long Pimples (also including choppers). So may be because of this, Kasumi hit very well long pimple balls.

The Japanese is not even ranked😱 (i couldn't find her ranking on wtt website) and shreeja akula (#42) lost to her. Why??
Maybe her ranking is not representative of her ability but just points accumulation by playing a lot of tournaments actually. 😭
You can search by using keyword "Kasumi Kimura ranking history" , she was ranked 242 back in 2017, seems she took a long hiatus and came back. Also , Akula is 24# now

Yeah, is that why the chienese are preparing for it ? Seems their olympic prep is long over and now they are just passing their idle time by practicing against funny rubbers..
not quite right ... seems that they hadn't find the right man/women with extra talent to face the attacker yet (IMO)
