    "3 TIPS FOR YOUR VAN CONVERSION"
    FREE E-BOOK mailchi.mp/bfe...
    My name is Richie Ros an Irish Singer Songwriter.
    I've purchased a VW crafter van, that I will be converting into a tiny house - tour bus and touring throughout the world.
    I'm converting a Vw Crafter 2013 ex DHL delivery van into a tour bus/home on wheels.
    Episode 7 is the install of the Dometic Midi Heki Roof Light 400x400mm.
    I purchased an MPK pro starlight to install. However, it arrived with very flimsy fittings to secure it to the roof of the van. I then decided to change it to a Dometic Midi Heki and Im very happy I did. As this is a far better roof light to fit and it came with instructions and all the correct parts to install. I would not recommend the MPK pro star.

    Thanks For Watching :)

    Good to have a quality checking pup and wavey arms, it always helps 😂 Making progress Richie! Reckon the Heki roof light is the better choice too. Every day is a step forward. 👍

    @3:45 instead of a utility knife use a magnet of any shape making clean up a little easier.

    Did you do a video for all the wiring you have?

    Hi there. I noticed that you did not include the thickness of the cladding when determining the thickness of the wooden frame. If you did this would push you over the 60mm max thickness for the vent. Did this cause you can issues when you came to install the cladding and then the final inner frame? Thanks in advance as I am about to get going with this myself!

      Well done for spotting that 😉 Yes it did cause issues but it wasn't a major issue.

      No leaks 😁 Use lots of sikaflex and you’ll be just fine 😁 Best of luck with the install.

    Hey did you use screws from the outside down into the frame through the roof? Did you also use screws up into the frame. I couldn’t see where you were using your drill bit and screws

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  2 года назад

      I didn’t screw into the frame! I secured the wooden frame using sikaflex and I clamped it in place. I secured the inside part of the skylight to the outside part, using the screws that come with the skylight. I sandwiched it in place using lots of sikaflex. You could also do it like you suggested, however, I think the less holes you have on the roof of your van the better. Hope that helps!

    Does your skylight have the led lights? If so, are the lights battery operated or did you need to wire them? Thank you.
