I've owned a painting company for 15 years and do a lot of cabinet refinishing (shellac and then a lacquer top). This method absolutely blew my mind and its one of things where you think to you self why did I think of that? Really impressive and thank you
I just used this technique for pinstriping glaze effects on my raised panel kitchen cab doors. However, I used a squeeze bottle with a syring and it was as easy as using a pen. Granted, it takes just a little practice on scrap wood, a little patience and steady rhythm. Thank you for the useful tips and tutorial.
wow you did it so well. Ill give it a try. it sure does look super. thanks for this very well done tutorial. Im just doing my first job on cabinets with a request for pinstriping.
Hello, I'm painting my kitchen cabinets that were originally stained with a dark green oil based product. I've decided to go with a latex paint. We plan to sand the cabinets and then apply 2 coats of primer. We then plan to use Sherwin Williams Alabaster in a semi gloss finish. We plan to then add the pinstripe technique. Is it necessary to then add a clear glaze over the whole door to protect it? I apologize, but I am an ametuer and I'd like it to look as nice as possible.
Hey bud. Like the video. Do you get the blunt tip needles or the sharp ones? I've used the bottles with the blunt tip and would like to try your syringe technique. I just got a few packs of 12ml syringes with the sharp points from Rural king. Also ordered some blunt tips from Amazon. Any advice would help man. Thanks.
Hey Joshua...thanks for the inquiry. I get the sharp needles and just dull them down using sandpaper to round over the tip a bit. Good luck in trying this technique!!
@@pernielsen2819 thanks for the reply. So you keep the angle on the sharp tip needles and dull the sharpness? Then basically applying the glaze like you would with a caulk gun after sanding the tip of the tube down to shape? I like to cut the caulk tube top as small as possible at around a 45 angle and round over the edges and shape it smooth with some 220. Sounds kind like the same you do with your needles. I'll give it a shot.
Very sharp lines, I’ll try it Thanks

What brand of glaze do you use
get blunt needles instead, you don't need to sand it

do you need to put a top coat on ?
Yes....if you dont spray a clear coat the glazing will eventually wear off.
