I laughed so hard when the other guy jumped in and looked at the console, looked over at you, and you just look down in disappointment
13:20 the game considers your location as the last place you hailed for landing. Ollie, since you flew into GH without requesting landing, the game never updated your current location as GH. That current location is what dictates where you log back in if you didn't bedlog. Where you log out doesn't matter, all that matters is where the game considers your current location (again, unless you bedlogged).
Except the game doesn't always consider your location correctly. Last night I flew from Lorville to GH. I landed, stored my ship and took the elevator down. Then logged out. When I logged in an hour later I was back at Lorville but my ship was still at GH. Just one of those interesting game glitches.
@@jmcnear6688 you have to set yiur location at a terminal by the pharmacy. Simply landing and storing your ship will not make you spawn back there.
@@jmcnear6688 if the backend system goes down that monitors that location info, you're able to still play, but if you logout before it restarts or saves your new location you get glitched back to the last place it had you saved. It's pretty rare, you just got lucky.
@@robblevins6009 that sets your regen location if you die not your spawn location for when you relog, that is monitored by a back end system that tracks your location
@@robblevins6009 That is not true. You only have to do that if you want to respawn there after death. Just logging out you are suppose to come back to the location you were at.

That was actually frustrating to watch lol, and drew the fight out way longer

@@crystllclr3743 yep, wasn't doing enough sustained damage. That plus the circling they probably added around an extra 15 mins to the kill time. After I realised they were doing that more than once I just skipped through those parts of the video

The coolest part of watching "new" players is seeing them slowly improve, and adapt to the game.
I've been playing this game consistently for years now. And I'm still blown away by this game. There are moments when I just have to stop everything, pick my jaw off the floor, and just admire what I'm seeing. Whether it's something beautiful, discovering something new, or something the game allows me to do (like using a parked tank inside a cargo ship as a makeshift ship turret). It still never gets old for me.

There's been a huge map update scheduled for like 2 years now but it keeps getting pushed back. They are now working on it for the single player game first and then will put it in the multiplayer.
The on foot map will be the same as your ship's radar and it will be the same as the solar system map you'll be able to zoom out to the solar system, all the way in to see a nearby ship on the holo display
Your SC content is one of the best ones on the platform. Also awesome to watch bc my PC can't run the game and like this i can take part in the expirience keep it going!

If you guys haven't tried 3.17 yet, give it a shot. We've seen a MASSIVE increase in FPS for a lot of people.

whenever you see the red elevator doors stay closed in grim hex don't go in them (clearly) use other elevator, if the other is still the same, there is an exit that leads directly outside, i suggest watching a video on how to get out of grim hex without elevators, SUPER helpful

When ur stuck in the elevator: sometimes it’s possible to crawl out and glitch through the red barrier thing. Takes a bit of timing but it often works for me.
Watching him repeatedly jump to early to get out of the lift and jumped at exactly the same time every time it opened rather than varying the timing drove me nuts

The difference between solo SC as opposed to playing SC with another person is night and day. Great content, a lot of fun to watch!
yap, specially with more people it could be a lot more fun. U can even make interesting events and so on.
Don't let the white knights and the Karens get at you with their tribalism, stay level-headed & keep up the good work. It has it's ups and its downs but with 8 content drops a year and weekly video & written reports it does more for the customer than most triple A games. we also have to point at the bug and say "please fix this" if we are going to help CIG defending the bug doesn't help them or us. Report report report I tell em to record and report the bugs lol. Thanks for keeping it real o7.

The moment you jumped over the red line into the elevator your fate was sealed.
thought id add this in, your friend said if you die you will lose your armor - the Resolution for this as listed by CIG is to do a character Reset on the website, it will spawn back in your inventory
But reset has its own issues.. Your aUEC amount wouldn't be the same.. I always end up losing a chunk of money
Or you can Find your corpse.

7 months later grimhex medical elevator is still a trap. The worst part about that is that when you get stuck in that elevator, you most likely respawned at grimhex. meaning if you try to respawn to move out of there, it will put you right in front of it again with the only way being trough.

to get around the elevator glitch you can remove all your armour and items weapons etc to local and then backspace you will wake up in the med bay which is upstairs in grim then just re equip all your stuff

I have a Hammerhead that I've been wanting to take out on some bounty missions, but thinking a fully loaded HH would just be super easy mode.
If only I had friends to multi crew with 😆 I've been Hans Solo for nearly a year now 😔
Once you've done that it's obvious just how nerfed the NPC HH's are if a lone fighter can take them out, no matter where you are there are at least 2 sets of 4xS4 guns that can hit you. Some in my org swap out the Rhinos for ballistics, but in the current game I don't see a point in it. Unless you're up against a REALLY good crew (or they have a tali on-hand, those will mess your day up in no time) there's just not enough damage to be dealt.
The bug at 6:00 is probably caused by the fact that there are 2 elevators in the same location, if you notice at 4:30 when they were using the elevator when it's working you can see that there are the struts of another elevator which is not functioning while the one which is working collides with the one which is not working.
They probably messed up something in the elevator system which generates an elevator "disconnected" from the elevator system which blocks the working elevator.

Good thing you changed your armor out before you got in the Elevator. Always use the stairs.

To my knowledge, if you purchased armor on the pledge store, and you die, it won’t go away forever, it’ll just be at your respawn locations cargo
yeah mate. the elvator at grimhex that the otherguy used is working. its only one of them that's broken. The easiest way to check is to just call the elevator. if the front red door thingies don't move away its the broken one.
Hey Ollie, if you press q and x while you are in a turret, it will make it so your cursor is the reticle and your gyroscope is separate to the ship, so you don't turn with the ship
he uses a joystick and throttle (i think if not joystick and joystick) so he doesnt have his hands on the keboard.
@@retronix3184 Switching to gyro mode is still very good advice. I'm sure he can still access the keyboard even when flying with HOTAS.

You might know, but if you don't, you can do bunker missions (destroy drug/contraband stash etc) and when you kill npc's, you can open their chest and/or pants, and alot of them will have ammo, including nerf ammo. :)
The sound of ships exploding is so satisfying
I just started playing this game last weekend, about 5 days again and I’m fucking hooked. I’ve never been so bad at a game and enjoyed it so much. I’m my defense, mouse and keyboard controls are new to me as I’ve always been a console gamer or used a controller on PC. CHEERS!

During a battle like this, can one eject from their ship, jet over to the enemy ship, board it and take it over? Sorry if its a silly question, I've only just heard of this game to be fair
I think if the enemy ship not moving you can enter it like you said.
I'm so used to always putting away my weapons when they are not needed, that when I see you holding a gun all the time when you don't need to, makes me itch. :P But you do you.
For the time being you can't even have a gun out in armistice zones. But those are gonna be removed sometime in the future, change it so if you hold a gun out you will likely be "arrested" by guards. You may even have to leave guns in your ship/hangar when going into stations etc. :P

They didn't fix Grim Hex elevators, they fixed the bunkers elevators. Also elevators and ladders are one of the hardest things to code in games.
Yeah the issue is they only stream in, they don't stream out, so you get multiples and they all break
@@uncannyvalley2350 well it's cause the Elevators in certain areas aren't Replicated properly, they have them overlapping. (Game programmer)
I had a very simple "pick up the package" mission. I ended up naked running out on new Babbage and unable to put the freaking box down. I raged quit but will be going back later
You can buy new nerf bullets from the counter of the gun shop in the station above ollisar in crusader I think
They are re-working the Star map & introducing a new FPS mapping...as well as FPS radar / pinging. You could either put Turret in stagger mode or learn to use fire control ( use a 3 count shot for Fire 1001, 1002, 1003... stop recharge 1001, 1002, 1003... FIRE 1001, 1002, 1003... ) And always wait till their in range! 1500 meters Max range for repeaters.
I said the same thing in SC general chat today that they need to do a patch run with no big updates and just fix all the little bugs with elevators, missiles not restocking, broke ankles being lethal, etc. And the people there crap on me because I wanted the game to work. So all I got was "its an Alpha bro."

I spend hours moving items from Orison to various locations so their available "when" I die. ;-)
I've heard that we'll eventually be able to transfer items (cloths, gear, etc...) from one location (ArcCorp, MicroTech, Port T, etc...) to another ("Local"), thus saving time, versus like I do after an update.
Like buying groceries, even if I have a list, there's something I've forgotten (at the farthest location).
Thankfully the elevator bug was fixed in 3.17 as far as I can tell. I live out of GH and haven't seen it since this patch 🙏

The huge ship lurking in the space above the space station. Looks like the mining ship from Dead Space, no own likes a Necromorph problem is about to occur.
I still always only use elevator 2 because you can glitch through the door. Aim at the edge of the door at the crate outside and walk forward and jump. Saved me loads of trouble.
One thing I have learnt for this game is don't rush.... The glitchiest game I have ever played but damn don't I love it...

Fucking hell it triggered me hard as fuck when you guys mentioned the game needing a map, as its oh so spooky and confusing when you first start playing the game and have to navigate the cities. Are you kidding me? What an AMAZING experience it was for me. Use your fuckin' eye balls. The design of the cities are as such that you can navigate them like real life, using the signs for things like ports, shopping areas, and the like.

I completely agree with your sentiment at the beginning of the video. Just sitting in QT and zoomed in starring at my gloves. Simply amazing.
If you switch a couple of the guns on the Hurricane turret for Distortion repeaters it will shut down the enemies.
Don't have to worry about Hammerheads shooting you if they're powered down.
Every video starts with him getting out of bed xd but this is such a cool game and it looks so good
some stations have a map of the station and some cities to. you need to be looking to everything but you have.
Lifts worked? I'm 😲 was it my imagination or did your reclaimer convert to a 400i? Neat and scary at the same time. Or was it just in editing the video? Accept fine is a neat way to handle double parking
Voyage is absolutely the best S1 Drive for small fighters, its the fastest that can get you from any one planet to another in one tank. On an origin 100 series (only) the Rush is even faster.
One of the most fun things I’ve done in game was crewing a HH during XT.
It’s crazy how much they’ve come I mean I was just watching this guy‘s newest video and star citizen is so much better now they fix stuff on the daily
Grim Hex actually worked perfectly for me yesterday evening. That was the first time ever though.
@jzillacon that is what I assumed. Everyone in my group has reported the elevators to be working flawlessly.
Note to self: Bring a crowbar when elevator gets stuck. Hacking function would be nice as well lol.

I think the elevators being broken at Grim Hex is just a design choice. It is a run down station inhabited by pirates and criminals. No o e knows how to fix them right. So they break down a lot. Should be a maintence mission to request when stuck in them. For a player to come and fix the elevator and free u
Everyone and their dog know not to get into a Grim Hex elevator if the bars stay closed. This bug has been in the game forever and seems very resistant to fixes. There are several exits that allow you to EVA around the asteroid to the hospital entrance up top. Make your way through the bar, keeping right and you'll find one exit. If you station at Grim, it becomes second nature

Star citizen has some the best/most hilarious glitches...I've been yeeted from my seat middle of qt, respawned in the sun, and getting stuck in the weirdest places

. . . Specifically, at least in NB, aren’t there two maps of drop off locations for shuttle transport and the signs after drop off tell you what’s in what direction? It’s funny they mentioned a mall cause that’s exactly what NB feels like to me.
If your game VOIP doesn't work try disabling all extra audio drivers in the Device Manager of windows, it fixed mine :)
If the pilot switches to missiles does that also deactivates the turrets guns (or whole turret)?
If you have two sticks (triggers), maybe set it up so you can fire half your weapons, than when low, fire the other half or both (set to staggered fire mode)?

They already have a velocity meter difference vs target. It's right under the ship you have targeted
Hey great video but in future hit x for gyro mode and the ships movement won't effect yours. Also it does have the meter thing if you look next to their name.
