I didn't understand why you choose yes for the option you have surround back for your front left right speaker.... Instead you choose front LR speaker with Dolby Atmos
Thank you Anil, very useful procedure to know before installing in my home theatre extension, due to be finished in August. I have purchased the same receiver although I had to pay the UK price equivalent of $750, we don't have the US Costco prices here! I will be running with a new Dali Oberon speaker set up and Sony UBP-800X M2.
But how do I power the upward firing speakers then? There is literally two pairs of input in each tower. One for regular front facing and one for upward. I was confused and called the Klipsch and that’s that they suggested to do for Atmos.
@@anildangol right surround back goes to right atmos input on right speaker, and left back to left atmos. that's 5.1.2, avr has 7 channels for 7 surround or 5 plus 2 atmos.
Toby is right, Your up firing speakers plug into surround back like I think you have them but in the setup you tell it no for surround back and then it will give you the option to assign those outputs now as Atmos speakers
@@Mr09stang Hey Todd.. 9:08 of that video. It says if we enable surround back. Then we cant use “front height” as an height channel. Let’s say i have 5.1 setup. With 2 additional front height speakers. So if i select NO to Surround back and say YES to FRONT HEIGHT L&R. Do they act as height channels ( Like 5.1.2) ? So all the height channel “atmos” signals goes to those height speakers? I’m a newbie. So please correct if im wrong. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the great review, I plan on getting this one tomorrow, pre ious setup was 5 speaker surround, I want to get 2 more for atmos but can't install in ceiling, can I put atmos up front facing me? And if so what settings need to be made In the receiver settings?
Omg thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! Bit of an audiophile newbie, lost my patience & you made it click in my head... Just in time to watch start of F1 2022!!! This w/ Klipsch 5.4.1 @ Costco is 🤯! #costcofinds & got better deal than me on receiver but least got the -$150 on Klipschies!!! My dude, life saver!
Ty for video. I got a crazy deal on this unit, I just tried a random code and ended up landing it at my door for $602 Canadian; $440.69 USD taxes in 😂. Gonna set up in a few days. I noticed you were using a regular rca patch cord for your sub. I’d recommend getting or using a 75ohm shielded cable for you LF ( even an older rca video cable will work {the yellow one}). Use to sell this stuff 😉
Receiver prices are crazy, almost like buying a car at sticker price. Some receivers that were selling for $350 are now selling for $549. Thanks China for the gift!
Wow. I never knew. That's the reason why I like costco as you can return them at anytime if find a good deal anywhere else and there is no return time limit. this shortage must be due to supply chain issue and chip shortage. Btw, I just bought a car at sticker price LOL
Simply, you can use the surround back to either power LR back channes, or Atmos LR channels, or front height LR channels. Then in the setup you choose which setup you did.
I bought it from amazon. The exact listing name was "Akia Screens CLR & ALR Projector Screen 123 inch 16:9 Ceiling Light Rejecting & Ambient Rejecting Projection Screen for UST Ultra Short Throw Projector" and it cost around $1K. Akia has removed that listing. May be OOS.
Can this run sound to 2 different locations with radio on one set is speakers for my deck and another set of speakers inside the house with tv playing?
I don't know the size. I bought it from amazon. Attaching was pretty straight forward but make sure you don't expose too much wire and just expose to cover the top inner part. If you expose too much then it will be very hard to twist.
@@anildangol Thank you for your reply. Would you be able to please share the link of the banana plugs you got? I tried couple of times, and both of them were too big for the receiver.
The setup menu prompts you on how to set up the atmosphere speakers. These should have been set up as Dolby front since they are in the front speakers. Your front speakers should have 2 sets of binding posts
Hey what was the problem in video with no sound from subwoofer first? I am having same problem right now please help! I have same exact set up and no sound from sub

Hi. For atmos You don't use surround back You say no and then when asked about atmos You say yes the atmos are connected to surround back.

Could you place one L or R Atmos channel with one ceiling speaker, and then place another front height L or R channel with the other ceiling speaker?
Hi, how big is your room? I have 12x14 room, wondering if 7.2 setup is too much. I think 5.2 is enough. Any thoughts?

Can this run sound to 2 different locations with radio on one set is speakers for my deck and another set of speakers inside the house with tv playing?
I personally use Fibre Optic HDMI Cables
How many speakers total do you have hooked up to the receiver?
2 Front (with upward firing dolby) , 2 back satellite , 1 center, 1 subwoofer
What was the problem with the subwoofer connection? I have the same problem.
The gain set to 0. so dialed a bit.
Any test at 4k 120Hz ?? or 8k 60Hz ??
No. Not yet as I don't have any 8k or 4K 120hz source. I think there are other videos confirming it works.
I tested god of war Ragnarök on ps5 vrr mode. No Problems yet
3 hdmi inputs are 40 gbps?
Do we need a TV with HDMI 2.1 to be able to use the QMS feature of this receiver?
I believe so but I am not an expert.

Can we connect Atmos channels to either surround or surround back at avr ?
You can set them up as up firing from the front, down firing from the front or rear or in ceiling middle or rear.

Yes. Go in the settings under speakers. Choose manual setup instead of audyssey, then go under amp assign. You will see it there
