  • I was reading that Cassette sales have DOUBLED! I'm not really sure if cassettes will ever be popular again. Marcos have always loved tape decks, walkmans and cassettes. In this video we will find out why!

Great segment, I'm an older guy -- I used to buy all my music on cassette so I could play them in my car. Still have my cassettes of golden age hip-hop releases like Paul's Boutique, It Takes a Nation of Millions etc . . . I never play them, but I can't get myself to throw them out either. I'll probably have them for the rest of my life.

Thank you! I’m glad I got to catch the golden age of hip-hop. My elementary to high school was through the 80/90s. Hip-hop will always be a part of my collection!

I like cassettes and remember using the lid of a pen to rewind it. Would I care to buy a Walkman or a player today? Maybe not but if a friend had one I'd be more than happy to experience it again!
Marco must be an old soul! Thanks for the fun review Hifyed!

I forgot the involvement in getting a cassette to play. Nowadays there is no interaction like that anymore. Pretty cool guys!

👍👍 Records are pretty close even more so I’m terms of interaction.

I got to listen to a cassette tape yesterday for the first time in years! Dire Straights, Bothers in Arms, on a Nak and great HiFi system. My bud had the cassette player hooked up because he purchased a tape, a band only had tapes for sale (and it was a red cassette, so cool.) I was disappointed with the sound, haha. But I get the draw, it’s cool!

It is pretty cool! I don’t think you can get the best fidelity however it can be surprisingly good! Marcos played some tapes the sounded much better than I remembered.

If you have a good Quality tape deck it can sound pretty good....not all decks are equal, you also need a good Quality tape with noise reduction

I really Love cassettes too. I'm only 23 but I listened them on the walkman of my Mom when I was Young. The 2017 I bought this Walkman (Sony Wm-23) again and then I gots Out off Hand 😂

I probably have a bunch of tapes at my parents house. I gave up on them as soon as I got a CD player. I never heard any cassettes through a nicer playback system so I remember them sounding extremely poor.

I have same feeling! I’ll give it marcos tho I listened to his tape setup and was more impressed than I thought I would be.

I have moved on from tapes. I have full embraced CDs and digital audio. Not really a fan of the tapes. I had a few tapes as a teen but moved on from them soon.

Me 2, I myself don’t think I would get into tapes. I’m surprised how much Marcos really does enjoy them!

Agreed. For me this video reminded of cassettes being the first transferable music media format. I was able to take my music from the stereo at home, to my Walkman and to my car. Recording on to cassette was also pretty easy. I remember when cds came out and they sounded amazing but the technology to record and make mixes was not around for sometime. When the tech did come around, you had to download the songs on the computer, buy recordable CDs and then burn the music on the cds. It was hassle.
