"Move Any Mountain" is a song by the Scottish electronic group the Shamen, first released under the title "Pro›gen". With an official remix by the Beatmasters, the song was re-released in the UK in summer 1991 and was their first top-ten single, reaching number four in the UK Singles Chart.[2] It was the band's only top-40 hit in the US, where the song peaked at number 38 in February 1992 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[
Remember this well. Sadly, The Shamen's Will Sinnott died on 25 July 1991. The band had gone to Tenerife to film a video for "Move Any Mountain"; he drowned while swimming off the coast of another Canary Island, La Gomera
Oh wow
This is SO 1991-1992 dance music and I'm HERE for it. Around 1993-1994, I remember buying (well my mother buying , lol) a 3-CD box set of dance/house/Euro-dance tracks and this was DEFINITELY on it. I think my favorite on that box set was Don't You Want Me by Felix, which later was sampled by Meck Featuring Dino on Feels Like Home, which you will hear later sampled on Madonna's 2008 tour when you get there! It's all connected!
Still a great tune and glad you liked it!
Wow, a blast from the past - as I guess this comment is to you!
When this came out I absolutely hated it - I was literally a grungy 14/15 year old in 1993 and had tickets to see Nirvana - before that didn't happen because of a shotgun. I was a couple of years too young for raving and ecstasy and resentend older kids having fun and associated activities, but these songs are still imprinted on my brain and now as as older fart can really dig them - so thanks for the memories. x
Thanks for watching! I hope you sub!
Still sounds great
This is actually the 91 remix of the track. There is another original video for this which is pure 90s. Check it out. Also check out their other tracks, such as 'Boss Drum', 'LSI', 'Ebeneezer Goode', 'Phorever People' and others. Æ 🙏
Oh man I loved this band as a teen , so glad you reacted to , The Shamen !!
Used to dance to this at Metropole on Thursday nights in the 90s 😂
Love this one. "Ebeneezer Goode" by them is good too 😁
I used to fancy Mr C lol. "Boss Drum" was another good one.
Mr. C. is still DJ'ing to this day. He also leads up the Los Angeles supporters group for Chelsea FC "CILA 1905"
Love+
Sampled in Streets of Rage 2. Classic.
RIP Will Sin ! last vid he did X
peace X
You know how strong the UK pills were in those days?
where you at mow?
Nah
Yeh, this hasn't aged well lol. Very much a band who found their form during the Acid House era of British Dance. Great on the dance floor, but elsewhere a bit shallow for my ears. They are like a "lite" version of New Order.
Lol! Totally agree Stephan. I remember enjoying this song back in the day but it has not aged well for me either.
