These interviews...👍 Both Khadeen's and Devale sessions were indeed inspirational. As a young man growing up in Brooklyn and an Aries ♈ like Devale yes...! We've faced so many challenges when it came to survival. Living in a City like ours NYC we had to grow up rapidly and have a mindset far beyond our teens simply because we have to make it or suffer. I myself was raised in a Christian house hold with strong spiritual ties and morals. And like him hit rock bottom and lost. I was a pillar in my family unit and the light 🕯️ because of my academics and string entrepreneurial efforts, but was taking away due to Kidney Failure. I was lost for a very long time embolic grace of God I'm slowly finding my way back to the surface. I give God all the glory for blessing me for interviews like this and using it as a vessel to rebuild resurfaced and rest strengthening my efforts in life. Peace and blessings to you all ✨

Everybody needs an “Aunt Debbie” in their lives!! Absolutely loved this episode. My sister was named Debbie and was also an Aunt Debbie to so many people. Thank you Crystal for bringing Devale to the couch.
This was a treat! I love the fact that Devale was so open with his emotions, was vulnerable with his struggle story and kept it real. The struggle be real. The tissues were out because 🤧 it just goes to show you what to expect when you never give up and trust in God. Thank you Crystal for this therapy session ❤

What I love about this interview is that it wasn't what people thought it was gonna be; most would've expected the entire episode to be Sistas/Zatima related. However, that was only about the first 5-7 minutes of the show and IMO was for the best. This was about Devale not Zac and the podcast is Crystal's thing not Fatima's.
This was a real, raw and relatable conversation!
My favorite portion was Devale's experience with the church as a child and how it shaped his relationship with it as an adult. He chose to still search and serve God in his own fashion and I like that. I'm sure most of us had issues with the church at some point, but it isn't about the building or the people inside; it's about God.
The way these two encourage each other is great. It was almost like a Part 2 to the interview with Khadeen a few weeks ago.
Only a REAL MAN cries, AND HE CRIES REAL TEARS! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how transparent Devale Ellis is!❤️
ZAC IS SO MUCH LIKE THE REAL Devale Ellis. I believe that plays a MAJOR role in how easy it is for him to play the character, “Zac”, on “,Sistas”, BUT EVEN MORE SO IN “ZATIMA”!

I have said before, Devale brings so much of himself to his role on Sistas and Zatima.
I’m glad Devale touched on religion. Thank you for making the point of the Quran and the relationship to other books and the stories being the same but just from different perspectives. I truly appreciated that.
I love when Devale encouraged Crystal she going to found love she is God light I love everything about her and what she doing with her podcast this Queen is phenomenal and her light shine bright through God and he blessing her on top of blessing and opening up so many doors for her,her next door she entered going to blow her minds Crystal continue to walk in your purpose Queen I love you Crys❤❤
I feel sorry for actresses because to find love if she dates an actor she knows the business and what comes with it but if it's a regular person they gotta worry about leeches and opportunist or insecure people

Hey there Deval, great interview, great example of a good human being. Just one little thing though, i was born & raised Catholic & we believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, son of God our Lord & Savior. The “Catholic” person you spoke to could not been well versed on Catholics & the resurrection. This Catholic acknowledges THE resurrection during Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. There is a ceremony Catholics attend called The Stations of the Cross. On Easter Sunday Catholics celebrate the resurrection of Jesus who rose & is seated at the right hand of God his father. Maybe one day you’ll read this message. Stay safe Deval!
Thank you so much for this correction. I definitely misspoke and that wasn’t my intent. I mixed up the differences between the Baptists and Catholics when it comes to the crucifixion not the resurrection. I apologize for that and I don’t take that mistake lightly. I love your wit, humor and God filled spirit for your boys, you are doing such a great job at rearing them to be their best authentic self and you are there for them always. So many black boys will never experience this kind of love and freedom to dream big and believe in themselves. So I thank you for being who you are in this world. Amen. I enjoyed the episode so much. God has always been ordering your steps, Devale. God will protect you by closing doors, when he is trying to protect you mentally, physically and emotionally. You might have got cut from the NFL, but look at you now. You are doing what you loved at age 12. You wanted to act. God has placed you in your due season to receive that title and position. Crystal, I just finished watching this episode with Devale Ellis and it was Soooooo outstanding. You covered so much with interviewing Devale of things I knew and didn’t know. Devale, thank you for opening up in this interview (not holding back on anything). You spoke on various issues of your life. I hope you know you were TEACHING. Thank you for sharing your journey. I pray every young man and woman HEARD you. I’m a few years older than you and one of the thing you mentioned was your parent sending you and your siblings to the South to get away from the city life. You bought back so many memories of being raised in the South, parents and grandparents DIDN’T play. I have so many stories.🙂 Anyway Crystal, thank you for bringing Devale on your show. I’m a major fan of you both. Hi Crystal. This was my first time on your channel and I subscribed. This particular episode really touched me. I know for a fact that God has his hands on you and Devalle. Something in particular that Devalle said made me stop in my tracks. He said that he was mad at God. And he was referring to specially to when his plan that he had for his life fell apart. He was crying telling that story. But it was a reminder to me that I should not beat myself up because I’m mad at God. It’s what the enemy wants us to do. But even when it feels like God isn’t there and life is beating up up and out plans have fell through. God just wants us to come to him. His plans for us are always greater than our plans for ourselves. Devalle was thinking football and that’s it. God had this platform for him all along and God always uses those that he picks to touch others. To bring it back full circle. I am currently struggling badly. Life is falling apart and I was so upset with God because of struggling but I am sure God had his hands on me. And he has something so much bigger for me than I have in “ My plans” for myself. So please tell Devalle that his testimony has blessed me. And thank you Crystal. Love you both. ❤

I definitely understand where you're coming from Devale.I remembered being responsible for my sisters, nephews and my daughter as a single mom. But when I lost my job, those people that were looking up to me were still expecting everything from me despite they were aware that I was out of job. But God can not forsake people like us, it didn't take long enough for me to get another job. That job just came to me without me sending application anywhere. As long we are responsible for the wellbeing of people, God never allowed our tables to get dry.
