There are many who may be baking a good cake but the wonderful tips that you've given and the patience with which you explained care really commendable. I'm 68 and all my life I never tried baking as we don't use even eggs at home. But with the recent practice of using curd, I'm very eager to try baking and especially since I'm blessed with 3 grandchildren. Seemaji, thank you for the crystal clear instructions. For the first time my cake came out well. I tried in OTG following your guidance over answers given to subscribers & also watched your basic vanilla cake in OTG. I used a 7 inch SQUARE tin 3 inches in height. I preheated OTG on 180 for 10 minutes with both coils on. Then put on Bake mode for 40 minutes on 170 Celsius. My cake was spongy, soft & tasty. BUT, IT HARDLY rose 1 inch.,.. It was a flat bellied cake. I followed all instructions, same ratio of ingredients etc. Please advise if you can figure out where I must have erred? Do you think I should try on a 6 inch round tin? Awaiting your inputs. Thank you once again. It's a pleasure watching your videos & then trying it. I also tried your Cornflakes mixture and that turned out great.
