    Steinberg (CubasePro), really need you ! I've seen many of Steinberg tutoriel on Retrologue 2, and none of them are as good as yours. I've learned so much more watching this video then watching those of Steinberg. They seem to just push theirs mouses in a confuse ways, talks and no logic explaination. Thanks a great deal. Every time I see your face appearing in a video, I know I'm going to learn something new. It put a smile on my face every single time. Once again you've made my day. I would wish, you make and other one on Retrologue 2 , going down a bit more on the subject. Hope is good....))) Have a great day.

    It's 2020, but this 2017 video is just as relevant and cool as it was then. In these times, I'm finally getting to some of these basics. You have a fantastic command of your topics, and GREAT presentation chops young man! I'll be gleaning much from you in the next couple of weeks. - Pete Radd

    I wanted to tell you that your videos on Cubase tutorials are a treasure trove!!! Soon I'll be done watching all of them, and rewatch them again and again! I'm learning so much from them than I ever did in my past 3 years of using cubase!!! I'd request you to keep on making new tutorials, I've already subscribed and liked each video that I'm watching. Also, I've posted link to your channel to a couple of music production/Cubase groups on facebook and recommended to my friends who use cubase... :) Please let me know if I can do anything to help your channel grow, as I really feel you're doing an excellent job with all these cubase tutorials! The way you explain everything in details is superb! Thanks a lot, and please keep up the great work! :)

    Do you also use Halion 6 or Halion Sonic 3? If so, have you used Voltage in either? I've been trying to compare Voltage and Retrologue 2 with each other.

    I have a question - noticing your red box in the background, is there any reason for having one of these or some equivalent, compared to a USB UM-One for MIDI, or Rocksmith for the audio equivalent? Is it that if you only have one instrument at a time being utilised, apart from an improvement in quality (perhaps, I am not even sure that's true) there is no reason?
    Piggy-back on that, is there any reason if you HAVE got such a red box (ok scarlet), you would need a mixer desk unit, unless you had multiple bend members being recorded simultaneously? I suppose it could be asked the other way around too - if you happen to already have the mixing desk type unit, would there be a need for the audi interface?
    I suspect, that one MAY be usable in place of the other, but in practice, it's not possible to entirely be satisfied they can truly stand in for each other? Anyway, thanks for any views on this David.[EDIT I meant 'band members' up there, I am leaving it for comic value, I am intrigued what bend member could possibly be]. [2nd Edit - I am going to leave 'Audi interface' for the same reason - I imagine plugging a tremendously inconvenient large family sedan into the lead from your guitar, with a USB doing the final trip from the garage to the PC].

    • @TalkingLeafMedia
      @TalkingLeafMedia  6 лет назад

      The box is the Scarlett 2i4 audio interface. It is advantageous for getting audio signal into the computer. It has 2 inputs (preamps), so you can record in either mono or stereo and 4 outputs, so you can run 2 sets of monitors. You can also run traditional MIDI into it if your MIDI device doesn't have USB out. It is a pretty simple solution for getting audio into and out of the computer that has always functioned pretty well for as long as I have been using it. Hope this helps!

  • @rollacoastaride1937
    @rollacoastaride1937 7 лет назад

    wow, cool, didn't know the sequencer was in there too, cheers for the info, I got one question, do you think a graphics card improves the performance of Cubase in any way??? if so, how? my PC is quite a cheap one, but it has 8gb of RAM, and my Cubase is struggling with certain things, my groove agent 4 isn't doing what it should, and I'm wondering if I need a graphics card, or maybe just add another 8gb of RAM, ???, cheers.

    • @TalkingLeafMedia
      @TalkingLeafMedia  7 лет назад

      The graphics card is good if you're using Cubase's video functionality. Like, if you're composing to picture. However, for most music related tasks, I think you'd probably get more mileage out of RAM. It all depends on where your bottle necks are. It could be RAM, slow storage, or your processor. If it is your processor, no amount of upgrades will make the problem better. I realize that this isn't a definitive answer, but I hope it helps nonetheless. Cheers!

    Well, I did tune in, I deserve my headache...No, good stuff. Yes, on the weirder settings about 4 minutes in, there do seem those odd ones, where basically you totally have a rogue signal from sputnik covered, but that is the one precise thing you could do with it! How many songs can you do with that worked in, is the question? Well ok if you are David Bowie probably a lot.

    Hei David. I`m 59 years old-and from Norway. Can i use the step-thing to punch in drums. How do i make my own drum-beats i Cubase?. One other thing; How can i make my Vocoder TAL to work in Cubase?. Don`t know about/ how to make group-channel/routing and shit like that. Give me a hint on how to send you some money for learning us. Slow way down, take youre time. Make it Cubase 9 for dummies, and i send you 50 dollar for everything you get in to my head!

    Doesn't understand 'key follow'. Must be a hold over from old synths.
    Eh ... yeah, that's why it's called retrologue.
    Maybe you could google 'key follow' to see what real synths experts can tell you.
