Hi Mike I just got my Taiko, loving it btw, big improvement over the Aurender W20. Question, where can I get TAS (as it seams like it is an iPad app) ? Thankx
Wow! What a difference. TAS so much more natural with much better clarity and tighter bass etc etc. Like a whole layer of noise/grain has been removed. What power cord are you using on the Taiko? Thanks for sharing
I can hear the difference over iPhone without headphone. Roonlab is good for functions but you need other engine to drive it like Hqplayer or extreme os.
Mike, I am curious. Being in the audio business, do you see the beginning of a trend that focuses on software improvements rather than hardware improvements? I’m comparing it to the development of computers over the last decade+. No dramatic hardware changes, other than speed, but software has come a long way. I just wonder which direction digital audio will go, as we are likely moving away from physical media.
Good question. I see it all as a journey to understanding what makes great digital. This is not unlike the learning curve turntable manufacturers went through with Linn proving many years ago about the importance of the entire turntable, including the Tonearm. It’s not just about the cartridge. With digital it’s about noise. Noise is the enemy of great digital and devices like Taiko and Aurender attack the noise from a hardware and software standpoint. Roon is beautiful and the UI is wonderful, but it’s based on a P2P network and all those graphics and features create noise. So, it’s a trade off. But at the end of the day, both hardware and software matter and noise is the enemy. Noise through the power, the software, the digital cables, etc.
@@highendaudio Would love to learn more about the Taiko product vs. Aurender. I haven an N10 and love it but am intrigued by the Taiko. Is there a battle between the Extreme vs W20SE?
@@highendaudio Will be interested to hear your take between the N30 and W20SE since you had indicated some months back that the N20 was fairly close to the W20SE. And then how the battle between the best Aurender and the Extreme shakes out. Congrats on the N30.
Just to be sure I understand, is Roon the endpoint or is it the core you are using? The TAS software looks to be the equivalent of Roon Core so the comparison would be best with Roon Core.
Very, very impressive, and much cleaner on the second demo. Thanks for this enlightening demo Mike!
Shocking how noticeable that was with the vocals especially. Why do people still insist all streamers sound the same?!
Fantastic video, your channel has incredible content
Thank you K H!
The amount of money spent on that equipment is impressive.

Congrats. Best bet is to email Taiko and they will remotely install it.
God, the difference is so distinct! The TAS software the winner 🏆
Obviously so too!
No wonder that other guy was taken by surprise.

@@warren818 we have the N30 coming! First one in the country. Soon. Both the Taiko (especially running TAS) and Aurender are superb.

It’s core and endpoint Vs TAS
