Finally got my gullikit sticks perfect on my alps frame. no rubbing at all. Thanks to your video and suggestions. I had issues with the ribbon cable delaminating after repeatedly opening it to test the sticks. If anyone has issues with the ribbon cable delaminating at the contacts like I did, just cut off the delaminated part, exposing fresh contacts. also Make sure to cut one of the corners some to make inserting it into the connector a little easier. (like the shape of an SD card) If this doesn't work for you, there's replacements on amazon for 5$
@@metalplasticelectronics354 They have a premium feel when compared to original ones. Sticks also feel softer than alps. I really enjoy playing with gulikit sticks. Thank you so much
On the first k silver ones, i noticed there was up down movement on the axis causing up to 6% movement, also when rumble motors were left in, when you raised the controller it would also add to the issue with interferance. I tried welding the axis but still had issues. Went ahead and got a few hundred gulikit modules instead.
I'm having the same circularity issue. Nothing makes sense why this is happening mechanically. It's gotta be something going on with the sensors in my opinion. Maybe it picks up rise and fall differently. Idk, I thought these K-Silvers were good but I think they're not quite there. Hopefully the HALLPI TMR will be the cheaper alternative to GuliKit.
I noticed this same behavior on Ginfull v4 on xbox gamepads. Usually undershoot on the right side. When going counter clockwise. I do shave a bit off the tip of the stem. But that behavior was there before trimming plastic. After initial calibrations.
I've seen a little bit of this behavior even on some potentiometer joysticks. This is just the most striking example of it. The shaft of the joystick is pushing on some very thin plastic for the up-down motion. Any binding or rough area on the plastic could cause some strange problems. At this point, I'm about 90 percent sure that it is a mechanical problem. I'm very interested in seeing what it does after being used for a few hours, well tens of hours.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 I did notice the magnetic on the opposite side of the button has up and down play. I don't think that's specifically the cause, but perhaps the internals shift around when rotating. K silver does seem a bit dodgy at times.
It's coming from the joystick. The voltage from that axis is lower if the stick is moved counterclockwise compared to clockwise. And it's lower by about 100 millivolts, a lot.
I had the same issue with k-silver tmr on dualsense right stick. After numerous calibrations it somehow fixed itself. Still can't rich little spot on top right corner for a little, but it's ok for me. But I do not recommend to buy k-silver tmr at this point.
I suspect it might be some friction in the joystick. It's just so strange that I would get the same problem with two joysticks. In comparison, the other 3 I've installed are fine. I'm still thinking about what the problem could be. I'll keep an I on it and see if it improves. If so then it's probably just a rough spot on one of the pieces of plastic in the joystick.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 Cool, I'll wait for your video then hehe. Maybe he will try to compete with TRM, right? Do you happen to have a link to where you bought it?
I’ve just swapped to Hall effect modules and the lack of resistance compared to potentiometers is something that is hard to get used to especially in fps games
They were from Amazon and the seller was intec gaming. They have easy calibration within the module where you just use a screwdriver. I do not know much besides that. I will be excited to see the review of the more stiffer modules!
yes! I also found out my issue after installing they say to adjust sensitivities to account for the lack of resistance and now they feel a little better
There are good deals on aliexpress for gulikit without the thumbknob, do you need to trim / cut them to use the original dualsens thumbknobs like you did on the ksilver ?
There's not going to be an electronic sensor type joystick that will be faster than a potentiometer joystick. But the GuliKit and the K-Silver are the fastest I've tested. Fast enough I don't think anyone could tell the difference.
If I moved the joystick straight up it was closer to the clockwise value. Wouldn't have to move it much counterclockwise to reach the counterclockwise value.
ive installed a few sets of these ksilver tmr... they have the issue turning left or right and not getting the complete circle coverage you described. idk what is the deal? any ideas why its happening? would love to hear your thoughts.
I haven't had time to get back on it. I was going to use the controller for a few weeks to see if it breaks in some. My feeling is it is some kind of binding in the axis arm. But I do plan on doing an update on it.
@ yeah, so I did a bdm 020 for someone with the ksilver tmr, and well the board decided to crap out after calibrating and finishing. So naturally I went and removed the potentiometers and the magnet because I had a fresh bdm050 to install on, I figured I would try and fit them on stock alps box after removing the alps potentiometers. I noticed the ksilver tmr magnets are not snug on the stick box they are kind of loose! This might be the cause. The other thing, they don’t sit on stock alps stick box because they are too loose, the hole needs to be wider. My thinking is, can you try and put a dab of superglue on ur ksilver magnets and see if it has the same result clockwise and counterclockwise? Idk what else it could be. The sticks work fine in games. I have 0 issues. No complaints from my customers or my bro in law.
@ doing repairs or upgrades for others. The gulikit are not very cost effective. When I can get 10 sticks for 12 to 14 dollars if I go k silver tmr or ginful. I just don’t feel gulikit offers good value. They are making a killing on these modules
If the thumb knob was made to use with the standard joystick then you shouldn't have to. The K-Silver looks to be the same height. This was to get the GuliKit thumb knobs to fit.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 ya your right about that i guess but if u have more then 1 controller and you know how to repair them u can cut it off and try diff sticks. the aim knockoff sticks off amazon are pretty nice. i have 6 controllers now that they can be repaired with the calibration website.

Except there was a comment that they had a K-Silver doing the same thing. I don't see how trimming the shaft would affect the up-down axis. The comment said theirs got better over time so I'm just going to give it a bit and see what it does.
I bought these and it was a mistake the radius is a deal breaker. Black ops for example auto run does not work properly unless you calibrate in game which means the game has to offer this feature and it just sucks you have to fix the dead zone. Use thumbsticks rings when you calibrate analogs and move only in one direction. That will fix your problem.
