- This is our story as to why we decided to move away from United States and move to Russia permanently. What led to our decision, health issues living in the United States , issues that we faced with the move and how we dealt with stress. This is our story.
Im South African and having spent 3 months exploring Russia in the summer of 2017, it’s become one of my favourite countries to travel.
I am originally from Cape Town, South Africa - and now I'm a Russian citizen with a beautiful 6 year old Russian son. Russia is far better than I thought it would be!
@@healthguy79 love Russia bro 👊🏻 just think of all the mense on the Cape Flats who are clueless, still holding onto a western stereotype of what they think Russia is all about 😂

I think you are just on time to be making this move and in my opinion it is the right and only move you can prudently take for your sake and your family's future. Please don't procrastinate because time is short. You will be surprised that nationalities of all sorts are dreaming to make the move you are making. I am ethnic Han Chinese and raised Filipino and seeing what I am seeing happening everywhere, the only place to go is either Mainland China or Russia. You can't stay sane living in the west., in any place considered the west. The decay is pervasive. It's wonderful that you are fluent in Russian. I have always dreamt of living in America someday but now that I have the resources to make the move, I realized I would stupid to insist on it when America have turned into this monstrous place. So good luck. Subscribed, liked and followed.
How about Malaysia?
Keep in mind, living in Brooklyn is not representative of the US in general. The US has many nice parts such as New England. In US, the nice areas are outside the major cities, while in Russia the nice areas are the major cities. I think Russians may not understand the differences in the countries. In Russia, I think people would love to see St Pet or Moscow, but in US for example, my mom doesn't even want to go to New York because it's crappy and full of ugly trash and crazy people everywhere
@@decide9266 never been there, but malaysia looks good, 100% first world and probably safer than the west and better values and cheaper and good weather.
They don’t like Asians in Russia. Most Russians are open racist. Please be careful.

As someone who lives in EU but has visited Russia several times i share alot of the same feelings. The west is a declining society heading in the wrong direction in an uncountable amount of ways. And even as a foreigner in Russia who doesnt speak the language, the feeling and the people are alot different, nicer, the values are completely different and I almost felt like I was home. Its strange, I have no heritage there but how I am as a person fits alot better in Russia than in Eu.
Because America is the source of all the bad influence of the world. Social media is killing our children and culture. America can't even decide what is a woman! LOL!
Always welcome to Russia
3 things:
1: There are countries that have the same values as Russia but none of the negatives, and russia has alot of negatives. Russia isnt the only country thats "russian-ish".
2: The west is heading in the wrong direction but russia is heading in the right one but declaring halph of the 1st world as enemies and attacking a country of 40 million people after living in peace for more than 80 years since ww2?
3: If you think thats "the right direction" then go to russia, you belong there
This is also due to the bottomless stupidity of those people who do not really understand what Russia is politically. Moscow is not real Russia. Russia has no civil society that has any influence on politics, it is a country still living in feudal times with the cult of an absolute ruler.

The West has already fallen. Russia seems like a better country to have any kind of family or semblance of normalcy.
I am an American and I feel much the same, now I am 66, and I feel this life is empty, like being in a rat cage, where the only option is the wheel, or the corner, my spirit feels dampened, The American Dream, has been turned into actual slavery, The Elite Class, and the Military industrial complex have sucked us dry, hope is dwindling for many, I think a revolution is coming, I will fight, for the America I knew, with modern technology, and True Grit
It was a slave idea from the very start
@@josephineamawiafe9428 Yes. Check out the term democracy. The original word demos came from the very early ancient Greek societies, it specifically described one class of people: very wealthy men who had slaves. Democracy means the power of such men. You see, they do not deceive people about their plans, it's just that regular folks do not bother to research what it is that you agree to accept.
It is the same all around the world. In the States you work to be a consumer, in Russia and many others countries you work to survive and pay the bills
Moreover, by their actions they make us think you all wish us death and suffering. Every one of you, not just the government. They make yall our enemies when you're not.

I spent 15 years abroad with my wife and older kids. We enjoyed our time in Asia and Latin America. You are right about the demons you bring along and you need to deal with your issues instead of bringing them to your new country. I am glad you were able to get to a place where you have some peace. I came to back to the US after so many years abroad and it was tough getting adjusted. I probably still am not adjusted.
In regards to mental illness in the US: It is getting worse. Those with mental illness have been mainstreamed in schools for too long and the government supports them through adulthood. We bought property and started building in SE Arizona for our dream home, but we are dealing with a mentally ill man who is harassing my family. In other countries, families take care of the mentally ill, but here in the US we have to take deal with the results of the mentally ill. We are putting our place up for sale to go abroad.
I know it was my time abroad that changed me and makes me realize that I have choices in my life and one of those choices where you choose to live and where you choose to make your home. Where will we go? Not sure. We are still putting together the plan, but in my time in far western China, I always wanted to go to Kazakstan and Siberia to visit.

Russia has good roads in general, electricity is never cut off unless there is some kind of accident somewhere, which is rare, there is always hot water, and everyone always has heating in winter, not like in the West. For example, in Great Britain, in winter people have to choose between food and heating, as there is not enough money for everything, because of which hundreds and thousands of pensioners die every year from frostbite in their own homes. This does not happen in Russia. In Russia, free medical care is guaranteed to everyone, and it is no worse than in private clinics. And what about in the West? If you don't have the money to pay for a doctor's services, then just go and die, because no one will treat you for free. In Russia, if a person suddenly feels ill, he does not need to go to the emergency room of a hospital or ask someone to drive him, in Russia you just dial 112 on your phone and call an ambulance, because in Russia it is free, unlike in the West. Appointments with doctors in Russia are available daily, you don’t have to wait 3 months to get an appointment with a doctor. So where is the wonderful life? The answer is obvious - in Russia. Perhaps most Russians do not live in huge houses with 10 rooms and a swimming pool (personally, I don’t need this), but in Russia there are no beggars, no hungry people, no people in need of clothes, shoes or people, in every house, in In every apartment, people have everything they need for a full life, I mean furniture, home appliances and electronics (gas or electric stoves, ovens, refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, computers, phones, tablets, and so on). Is this poverty? I don't think so.
I'm glad you're fine now, welcome back!
call of roots is something you can’t resist to)
Yes, it is definitely a thing!
Bro, good luck with your changes! Do what you want to do. Be open and honest and Russia will welcome you as one of its own! There are no bad countries - there are bad people and governments. From Russia with love!
Congratulations on holding out and getting past the depression after moving countries and starting more or less from scratch. And what a wife! Some of us need a change of scenery as an aid to work with our demons, some don't. Either way the changes within us , are what make the difference.
This is one of the problems with depression. You move from place to place, hoping to find something better but the main problem always moves with you. It feels new and fresh for a while but eventually you become miserable again.

I needed to read this. I’m 42 years old and American. I believe the music of Maykapar, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninov has been calling me to Russia for 3 decades now. This may be the year I finally listen. 💚🎹
Brother you made a right and dignified decision made in your life and I believe and pray you will never regret or thinking to go back. Good luck in mother Russia
For those that subscribed, would videos be more intersting in Russian or English?
In English please. I don't understand Russian. Just Serbian, Hungarian and English. You can do subtitles maybe.
Hey, glad to hear you and your wife found nice place to live and this is my homeland) welcome! I hope you settle down well and manage your life accordingly. I see number of such stories in RUclips, even more in comments. Good luck in Russia! I really hope you find your place here.
Wow… nice story. I live in the USA and I can feel you. I am talking to my wife about moving back to Russia but We didn’t decide yet. It will be really interesting to hear more about what’s happening to you and your wife after moving to Russia. I can feel you when you talk about American lifestyle and all this BS politics that keep people divided. It’s getting worse with every month. I hope that you will find your peace in Russia.
Remember, Russian banks are disconnected from SWIFT. You will not have access to your money from there.
He put a video in Russian just a day apart from this one. He could not find any job over there. His wife could not get citizenship, so they ended up in Vietnam where she got a teaching English job.
@user-jj1bp3es3j where is the video? Because I'm trying to find it?
good for you, great choice, I was born in America but by 2013 that America was completely gone, AND SO WAS I, having been to Moscow and had a great time with great people, but I dont like the cold so I went to S. E. Asia. sometimes people ask me what I miss most about America? and I say WHERE?
Awesome dude. Just don't go against the grain there. Their eye in the sky is unforgiving. Stay safe.
You has made the right decisions, my Soviet comrade
Best of luck! Be careful not to say anything about Dear Leader or you may fall out of a ten story window or come down with a radio active cough.
Hello, good people. I'm from Serbia and I'm thinking more and more about moving to Russia. Modern slave life, absence of traditional life, absence of morality... and many more things at stake... It all makes me think, more and more, on this move.
Ajde di oćeš . . Danas nebi. Rođen san i živin u Hrvatskoj i rađe bi iša živit u Srbiju nego u Ameriku.

Very insightful. Thanks!
I'm 37 now, all you saying is 💯 on point. Thinking of making a similar move.
Smart man, I'd be right there too if I could convince my family but unfortunately they need to see the horror that's coming here before they will believe anything is wrong. Says this Canadian. Oh, ethnic Russian Canadian.
Brother, I am with you! I have 3 more years and if this world can keep its shit together, I'm leaving the US by taking an early retirement. Ideally, I want to move to Russia, but if that is not possible, another country in E. Europe. Been learning Russian for a few years now in preparation. I feel this country and Americans have veered away from my ideals. Russia, a place I have never been, seems to align with my ideals much better.
I don't really teach on any site. Some people reach out. I just love interacting with people and realized that I enjoy teaching what i know. My wife is a very good teacher, she has a lot of lesson plans that I use. With that said, i mostly help with conversational English. If you have a small base, we can go from there. If you need to know grammar and all the rules, there are better teachers out there but I can try as well. As far "few hours", you don't need to pay me anything, we can try a first lesson and see how that goes, go from there. You can find my email click on my channel contact section.
good luck ! welcome!
Interesting & original story. Thumbs UP!
This is exactly my story too!!
I have very similar story my parents moved us from Rostov-on-Don to Florida USA back in 1994 I was 13 years old at the time, and none of us spoke a word of English. I can relate to being a Russian immigrant in American middle school and how hard that was for you. Yes same as you my values and morals developed here in United States, and I wanted to fit in as much as possible, but of course as I grew older, I began to long for my Russian roots, and I started to reconnect with my source. Now I am 42 years old I already had been married and divorced with children in United States but I really really want to go back to Russia I have been wanting to move back for many years now but too afraid to make the move
I am dutch, I left the Netherlands 10 years ago as the same reason as you tell us about the US. I live in Prague with my Russian wife now. After 10 years we have an own appartment and an own family house in Russia. I have been in Russia twice just before the corona joke began. I am feeling in Russia much much more free than in the EU and US. Now with the western propaganda against Russia, expected lockdowns again. raising costs and the WEF agenda, we can go when we will say enough is enough.
I am a European and am closely monitoring the situation in the USA. I watch a lot of police bodycam videos. In at least half of the fatal cases I would consider the people's behavior to be "suicide by cop". Added to this is the exploding number of homeless people and the fetanya epidemic. The crisis in the USA appears to be growing massively. The result seems to be - it has to be said - a real wave of refugees from the USA. And these US refugees are increasingly going to Russia because Russia is slowly but steadily becoming what the USA should actually be: socially just, worth living in and with maximum individual freedom. Who would have thought 20 years ago that the world would look like this? But I'm sure you're doing exactly the right thing. We are clearly on the threshold of a Sino-Russian century. We in the “values west” have run aground. Have courage, find your happiness in your new life in Russia. If I wasn't already too old to emigrate, I would have chosen Russia. I keep my fingers crossed for you. Greetings from Germany, which is increasingly in crisis.
Having to keep up with the Jones' means you may lose who you are truly supposed to be, who God intended you to be. It's NOT worth it. Finding out who God made you to be & letting go of everything else IS worth it 😃 God bless your souls & bodies & spirits😃 Stay true to who He has destined for you to be. It's the most important thing you can do in this life.
I seriously think about leaving Germany for Russia.
I fear we have no good future in Western-Europe.
Spot on great story you would be surprised how many people feel the same wishing you and your wife all the best😊
You seem brave, dude. Be what you are. See you.
6:20 work, work, work, spend, spend, spend!!
I was talking to a hardworking American woman at my job that this was my perception of American life!
We both were run down by a lot of working and not taking care of our health and wellbeing!
It’s a sick cycle! And the middle class is getting squeezed which is an ongoing trend that will only get worse absent a serious structural reforms in the US government and economy which I don’t see coming.
I travelled to Moscow, St Petersburg and Irkutsk and Lake Baikal in 1993. Been in Southern California since 1989. My thumbnail photo is me over the Danube in Budapest. I just wanted to say that sometimes you have to take a stand and fight, even if you are behind enemy lines.
Man, you keep getting better with each video. Technically, thematically...keep going!
