Dude, you are a rockstar. I used your method with normal masking tape and clear Primer, and I had a 100% NO bleeding on my wall. I am so happy to have learned this trick. The reason why I didn't use frog tape is that it isn't readily available in my country and if you do get it, it almost costs more than the paint. I also couldn't find Matt clear, so I opted to use what I had, and it WORKED brilliantly. I now have clear cut line around my door frame.
Definitely a good trick, i will add that you can also use acrylic caulk in place of matt medium, just run a bead and wipe it away with a wet cloth to leave a fine trace against the tape, it can leave a slight raised edge if you are not careful (only the thickness of the tape mind) but on large areas like walls or when decorating it is completely unnoticeable.
First of all-thanks for the useful info. This really does seem to be something that people just randomly discover on their own. Second, thank you for putting the answer right up front in your video. It shows you have respect for the viewers (that you deserve more of!) and your honesty in trying to inform. That counts for a lot. Best of luck, I hope to see some of your work in person one day
Thank you so much! I’m just about to tape up my canvas and I’m using Frog Tape to do it. You have spared buckets of frustrated tears… I’ll be using the matte medium too
You just saved my life. Or at least my wall. I've been messing around with one damn border for like a week and I was ready to light the frog tape on fire. 😂 I'm coming at renos from an art/crafting background, and you spoke in my language in this video. Thank you!!
My roll says “You can pre-activate PaintBlock Technology by running a damp cloth along the tape’s edge.” Did you even read it before saying that it doesn’t tell you to do that?

That last matte medium pull was 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
👌👌👌
Dope. I get this same effect by painting the under color first. But I’ve never thought of the matte medium! Thanks!🙏🏾
No problem 👍 Matte Medium works great!
