Believe me -- I have spent over 50 years traveling in Switzerland -- Cities and villages -- North, south, east, and west -- and it's beautiful. But Ticino is my favorite canton, with orange trees and palm trees, and many other unexpected delights.

Jokes aside, I've lived here for decades now and traveled the world a lot and I am never sad to return (apart from when I come back from Scandinavia and Japan, those two places keep calling, but that's another story), It's just an amazing country, beautiful beyond imagination to the point that it still gets my jaw dropping even though I was born here.
An amazing and serene, abandoned ancient village. A masterpiece of stone and wood construction, many many years ago. No roads, no grocery stores or retail❗ just beautiful little homes & awesome Nature.🕊💎🕊

I am not sure if it is of interest to anybody. But the reason why there are no people is that in Switzerland farmers have and had a three level farming strategy. Due to the steep mountains, there is not enough grassy flat terrain in the valleys to provide food for larger cow hearts.
So farmers (cow and milk production) live during wintertime in the valley bottom with all their animals. During may month they take all the cattle and move up to about an altitude of 1500 meters. This is the second station (called Maiensäss). The cows then eat all the grass on that level.
In July they move even higher up to an altitude of 2500 meters (called an Alp) and stay there until the end of August, eating up all the grass there. Then they move back to the second level until October, where the grass has regrown over summer time and then with the first snowfall they move back to the valley bottom. This system of cow farming is used since over 3000 years and is a very effective way to maximize the use of the natural resources in a very steep and mountainous region.
The village you see is a second level settlement. If I look at the rainfall and the water quantity of the waterfall, it is early spring time in this video.
Way too soon for the second level. People and cattle will come there in Mai.

Some of the stone houses apparently have occupants..notice the flower pots, modern windows, curtains, the cat…The rest are ‘abandoned’…Beautiful serene place to see..visit!
@@lovegodlovefreedom2535 Every house has a owner, most of them are swiss cityzens from other parts of Switzerland. Inside its mostly relativly simple. As you can see, the whole village looks like an museum, ther is not much life in the streets. Greetins from Switzerland, Michael

Secondly, a question: Aren’t those wet, lichen covered stone pathways slippery? And what about when it gets icy? Can anyone live there in the winter? Lindíssima povoação lembra tempos remotos de casas de pedra vulgar e caminhos entre elas circundado por árvore com folhas verdes as quais eram ripadas pois serviam de alimento ao gado bovino e caprino e outras depois duma boa secagem davam um bom chá para o quotidiano persogem ou mesmo para o curandeiro fazer as suas mezinhas medicinais à epoca e ainda hoje em laboratórios artesanais. I agree that Foroglio is a hidden jem. The brick houses are a must see. It's also nice to have a living environment that allows them to be close to nature. Didn't you get lost in the maze-like narrow paths? 😊 Building the village must've been difficult. The black cat was cute.😽
