Issac, I am watching this again today. There are some views that you have captured here that are artist-worthy like paintings. The vibrant painted boats and all the colours of the buildings and the collection of rusty anchors. This is one of my favourite walks.
I discovered Camogli more than 50 years ago. And I fell in love with this village. When I retired I bought a little house there, with an amazing view over the sea. But Camogli isn't just the small colorful town. Camogli is a group of tiny villages part of the municipality: Ruta, San Rocco, Mortola, Mulini and the amazing San Fruttuoso: a benedectine abbey in a small cove (you can get there only by boat or hicking). And Camogli is part of the Mount of Portofino natural park: a small, but beautiful protected area with more than 80 km (50 miles) of trails in the wild. If you come, bring your trekking shoes.
Great work! I lived there for a month and there is much more Camogli that is missing from your video. I hope you will make another video to include the rest of Camogli.
Hey, thanks for watching? Are you referring to the street that runs through town by the train station. I know there is more around...but did I miss something major?
Hey thanks Clark. I'm still trying to figure out this HDR video, but for now, I think I'll post up two versions, one more members in HDR and one for everyone else in SDR.
I missed the videos from Italy and wondered when they would come back, so I'm celebrating. And yes, Camogli has definitely moved to the top of my list of travel spots. Although every new video you upload from Italy makes that place immediately move to the top of my list 😄
Again, another great video, but after my feedback from the last video, it begs the question of why you thought it necessary to go HDR, as the quality of your videos have always been excellent in quality of exposure and natural looking colour (not being there, its my eye that sees what i perceive as 'natural') This new video seems, to me to exgagerate the REDS, GREENS & YELLOW, to give a false look. Hope you dont mind the feedback, with respect Dave. 🤗👍
HDR is clearly an enhancement over regular SDR content. It allows for a more faithful reproduction of images in the sense that you can have a wider gradation of brightness without clipping highligts or crushing shadows. HDR is always welcomed. That said, I've also experienced weird colors when watching this video in my not so new LG tv. The people looked radioactive red! But my Samsung phone displays it correctly so I am leaning to think that there is some sort of metadata misinterpretation.
Another great video , thank you. Normally I just watch and like but feel I need to comment this time. I watch your videos while walking or running on my treadmill; I’ve done so since first Covid lockdown. Videos like this kept me sane when I couldn’t travel. When I started watching this video it appeared out of focus and excessively bright coloured. Then I saw other comments re use of HDR. It looked like my mother’s slides from the 60’s which had some strange colouring effect that gave similar colours. This morning it was much clearer so I think my wifi just wasn’t coping with the high quality. However it is still excessively bright. I know you suggest changing the settings but I have better things to do with my life than change settings for each video! The only other comment is that you seem to be zooming in and out a lot more on this video. It is quite rapid rather than smooth and a bit vertigo inducing when running on a treadmill! Anyway, enough negativity, it was still great. I have walked & run about 4000 miles per year on my treadmill, probably one third of that watching your channel. I lost 14kg in weight and got over my Covid lung complications which was aggravated by excess weight and reduced CV fitness. I am a GP & community cardiologist and advise many to watch your videos while walking on treadmills or steppers or exercise bikes. Keep it up but I would be happy if you revert to your previous camera!
Another amazing video that I can live vicariously through. Always good work! I’m curious. Do you ever have issues with the GoPro Hero 11 overheating? And if not, what do you attribute that to.
Hey, I didn't film this with my Gopro but yes, my Gopro would often overheat. I would just dunk it in cold water, change the battery and keep on filming.
@@ProWalks thank you so much. I wondered. I was thinking about getting a GoPro but I had hear so much about the overheating. I thought maybe you had a good secret.
It would only overheat if it was actually hot outside too. ...and it didn't do it every time. It wasn't enough of a problem for me to want a different camera...but I did switch to a Sony just for better overall quality.
Thank you so much. Camogli will certainly move toward the top of my list as a base for touring Liguria. BTW an alternative way to reach Portofino from Santa Magherita Ligure is to take an ultra short train trip to Rapallo where one can take the hourly ferry ( a 30 min sea journey ) to Portofino.😄Don't forget that it'll take you 15 minutes to walk from the train station to the ferry pier in Rapallo.
Hey, you are very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. I stayed in Rapallo on my previous visit to the area. I rode my e-bike out to Portofino. It was a really nice way to get out there.
It is enviable to see you riding the e-bike to move around. Your Amalfi Coast and north Lago di Como coast bike ride videos are really monumental.@@ProWalks
Where are you living now, are you still in Italy or back in the States. You mentioned goingt here on a recent trip to Italy. How is your Italian, I've been learning German, Italian Spanish, Portuguese and French on Duolingo. I have a good accent, but can't do much conversation. Spanish and German are my best. Duolingo helps, but immersion like you have is really the way to go. It's been quite hot here in Ferndale, not as bad as most of the country, more like the weather we had back home in New Jersey in the summers on the farm, but way less humid. Spero che tutto vada bene per te e la tua famiglia. I hope I got that right:) Ciao, Fred Spector
Hey Fred, I'm back here in WA, down in Lewis County. My family and I went back to Italy this summer so our kids could see their friends and swim for a couple weeks. I stayed for two and half weeks after they left to film more tours. I've been practicing my Italian on Duolingo for 547 straight days...but my Italian is still not great. I can read it...and speak it okay in my mind, but things don't go smooth when I get into a conversation. I might be heading up your way here at some point. My aunt just moved to Ferndale and I want to get some old family VHS tapes from her. Things are going well here. I miss Italy though. We've been fixing up our house and spending time with family so it's all good. I hope you're doing well! I just re-uploaded this Camogli walk today but in SDR instead of HDR. Hopefully the colors look more natural. Ciao, Isaac
You can't create HDR afterwards. The video has to be filmed in HDR, but you can make an SDR video with those same files. I filmed this with a Sony a7siii.
Thanks for your videos. Always a bit of a holiday for me, well made and beautiful! There's a slight spelling error in the title of this one, the name of the city is Camogli, it seems? Have a great weekend and please go on filming for us. Greatly appreciated.
That town is a favorite delight of mine with a spectacular coastal hike to Portofino. But the HDR color is garish on my laptop - can I turn it off? Blazing beach umbrellas vs fadey other stuff seems over the top and distracting.
Have you tried adjusting your color settings on your TV? I understand you shouldn't have to do that to watch the video, but it might help. Does your TV have HDR mode? I used my Samsung tv as a guide when I made this video and uploaded 3 different versions until it looked right. If HDR mode is off though, yeah, it will look extra bright and saturated.
@@ProWalks Cheers, my cheap samsung tv looks overly vivid and contrasty too (set to warm2). Same on 3 high end laptops. RUclips stats for nerds report bt2020 which I think is non-hdr, except bt709 on win11. I fiddled with many options and my macbook looks a bit less bad, altho I have to throttle down to 1440 res to avoid jerkiness.
I am...I just haven't been able to figure out how to make a video HDR and SDR in the same video so it looks looks good no matter what screen you view it on.
Aside from the colours mentioned by others, this seems to have a wider lens angle than usual and not very smooth panning. That might be my Samsung TV but this is the first of your videos I've seen in several years that looks a bit shuddery. With that and the now apparently regular zooming, we didn't get very far into this one, sorry.
PLEASE stop with the HDR. Watching your videos with this filming system makes it look like you’re watching the video through sunglasses. Dim and not vibrant. Previously your videos were fine, full of color and smooth. One of the reasons why we subbed. But this drastically reduces the experience for those who do not have HDR tvs (which is probably 90%off your viewership).
Yeah, it's been a major headache for me. There is almost no good information out there about creating HDR content. I did the best I could with it. 76% of my views are on Smart TVs. Any TV that is 2016 or newer should have an HDR mode, so most viewers on TV should be able to watch in HDR....just I agree, the non-HDR image looks better....which means I'm probably doing something wrong. Either way, I'm going to keep making HDR videos but for members only and SDR for the general audience. I'm going to re-upload this Camogli walk as well in SDR. Hopefully one day I'll only have to upload one video that does both. It's possible but that's what I can't figure out right now. Thanks for the feedback.
@ProWalks I like the brightness of your previous videos using the GoPro Hero 11, although it suffered in low light conditions. The HDR has more contrast, however it makes everything looks dark like the day is overcast. I too prefer SDR. Love your content as always though 😊😊😊
@@ProWalksplease go back to the previous camera. Using a year old Samsung with no hdr makes this video very unpleasant. At least compared to your previous videos that did not use hdr.
