Hello my dear friend!! It’s me, your favorite sped teacher from Indianapolis! Sorry I have been MIA! I finally retired from teaching, we sold the family house and bought a nice 1 floor ranch. In the craziness of selling the house, packing, moving, and unpacking I have a severely pinched nerve in my neck that is effecting the use of my arms 😢 my husband Jim has unpacked a great deal of the craft room for me, he has been amazing! I am doing PT and meds (that keep me up all night lol) but I just wanted to let you know that I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth and I am looking forward healing up and getting to work on all my dream projects!! I even sent my sister a link to your 3 hole pamphlet stitch video… she is a newbie who swore she would never craft 😂😂 but just wanted to say that I am mending and missing your videos!! Looking forward to seeing a 3 signature journal made by Gayle. Not hopping on the train to dive in just yet only because I truly LOVE a one signature- Three signatures feels like the difference of reading War & Peace instead of Black Beauty! As a sewer, I fell in love with Roxie’s fabrics-they would be just perfect for a journal I’ve been wanting to do for quite awhile! Gayle, on the double spine cover, if you leave a 16th of an inch to an eighth of an inch between the covers and the spine, you’ll still get the sturdiness, but it should bend easier on the lines. Lovely paper!
Good morning Gayle, excellent instructional video. My favorite cover that you made was the last one with Rachel’s fabric. It’s just beautiful. I’m wondering if I could do that technique without sewing and it still be secure? Unfortunately, I don’t sew my right foot is paralyzed, it makes sewing difficult and awkward 😂 my husband sews but if he messes it up I might cry😂😂😂
Hi Gayle! I wouldn’t use pink or blue to decorate my house, but it sure makes a cute journal. Wouldn’t Victorian Velvet make a nice edge distress ink for the pink journal.
I love the way you put the covers together but I am having issues with my fabric tech. It is too thick and I’ve added real acetone to it but it doesn’t seem to mix well. How do you thin your fabric tack?

Yes, but remember it will be smaller if your card stock is smaller than 9” x12”. (Amazon padded envelopes are also fun to use for this (the brown ones or the plastic ones - just cut to the desired size).

I don’t find the need to thin probably because I use it so fast. 😂. Adding acetone is the only method I know of to thin it. ❤
