Hey Andrew! Just came across this sick channel, is there any chance you can make a full body work out video to show exactly which muscles are worked with the bars you’re using? I just started on the pull up bars near my house 😊
Great question. Honestly it's a matter of mobility. I personally have decent pike mobility, but not great pike mobility. So I bend my knees to get better spine flexion and therefore a deeper contraction on the rectus abdominis. Hope this helps 👊🏿
The video takes a long time to get to the most crucial cue: to try to bring your knees as close as possible to the chest and bring your butt facing forwards. However, the explanations here of this exercise are exceptionally thorough and detailed.
How does it take a long time? It's a 5 mins valuable, tutorial. Some tutorials are 15 mins or longer. But I guess young people have such short attention spans...
i always lose the closeness in my knees when going up past parralell to chest its strange legs become too wide. I can hold an L sit but the dynamics I struggle with badly when it comes to this
yeah that can be soo tough - I used to have the same problem, but if you put something like a small cushion or a little notepad between your knees while you do this, you'll get tactile feedback while you are moving and that will help you focus on keeping those knees together as you raise them up
Me, waiting for everybody on youtube to find this clearly underrated channel!

Really great video, the dead hang tip is brilliant. Is there a reason why you favour bent leg over straight leg?
