Thank you very much for your video ! I am French, and I watch Yakara videos also, they are great (and I don't even speak Spanish...) But it was high time someone did a video in English, and yours is fun and very clear ! So thanks again, and keep'em comin' !
Merci! 🇫🇷 Yakara is so cool to me because his content and his personality transcend language barriers. I'm very flattered to hear my video has done the same for you. 😄
What a great video! I've been planning to do this same mod, but I was holding off hoping for an easier to follow tutorial than Mundo Yakara's. Subscribed!
When I did this same mod for the Super Famicom, I used flush cutters and a solder sucker to remove the pins from the ESP32. Having holes instead of pins made soldering the wires a bit cleaner, but it also let the board sit flush and mount with double sided foam tape without worrying as much about shorts.
Thanks! I have this solder station (although mine didn't come with the spool holder, all the extra tips and accessories), and I think I had the temperature at 350° F/ 176° C. a.co/d/jkA4fOb
Looks like it's not such a disappointment that I missed out on it not being able to solder because it will not disconnect the Bluetooth if a wired controller is plugged in so you have to install a on off switch plus it's a pain to update the firmware because it's not via WIFI or Bluetooth so you risk breaking one of the a wires off on the Bluetooth board plus have the Dreamcast real close to our PC or have a extra long USB Cable unless you could do a ultra MOD and install a USB Port on the side of the Dreamcast so you don't have to open it in order to install any firmware updates. The iBlue Control Mod adapter for SEGA Dreamcast can detect a wired controller is installed and disconnect the Bluetooth for that controller port but not the other ports plus it has wireless firmware updates but only via a PC and not a smart phone but it's not Blueretro compatible. For now I'll stick to the Blueretro Dongle that got god reviews on RUclips and only cost me 13 from Aliexpress so I get Wireless controller support without spending big bucks. It has not arrived yet but is estimated to arrive by Oct 31. What if you have a MODE and the Stone Age Gamer MODE Installation Bracket that makes it so the MODE is securely installed in the same way the GDROM would be installed.
@LemSportsinterviews Honestly getting them from Aliexpress vs Amazon will save you a good chunk. I haven't had any issues with emus from there personally. Plus when you look at how expensive a lot of physical Dreamcast games are these days, it's not so bad.
Why is there a Gamecube version of the easy to install controller port BlueRetro Replacement but not Dreamcast? Surely more people still have Dreamcasts than Gamecube since most Nintendo fans just buy whatever the latest Nintendo system is. There is a Non Blueretro Internal Blutooth Mod that is easy to install because you just replace the controller port board but since it's not Bluretro ( and says so in the description) it may not get frequent updates and does not the virtual VMU according to the list of features and you don't what the build quality is. It comes from China and Ali Express sells it along with some other vendors. It's called iBlueControlMod adapter for SEGA Dreamcast. This is what it says on the Webpage for the Adapter Note 1: This kit can only be used with our Applications(iBlueControlMod config). Note 2: This kit isn't 'BlueRetro mod'. BlueRetro APP can't use on this kit. Don't upgrade 'BlueRetro firmware' to this kit! Otherwise, this kit will be damaged!!!
@dallase1 I've seen the alternate Aliexpress boards, but I agree-- not having Blueretro is just not worth it. I think some people might be tempted by a mod that doesn't require soldering, and that's fair. But at $50+ for non-Blueretro firmware, no VMU support, and third-party controller ports which can have fit issues... I don't know. I may buy one sometime just to try out and do a review. But I think the Blueretro mod is a great first project for soldering beginners. All the points are big and easy to identify. The Gamecube has a much bigger audience right now and a bigger, more recognizable library. I'm a huge Gamecube fan, but I do want the underdog Dreamcast to get more love in the retro scene.

I'm very not into Dreamcast modding but this video is very well produced and a pleasure to watch :D very calm and relaxing. Go on!
Nice tut! You in 27.40 you could add a warning to not touch the PSU on your left side since the caps might be fully charged on the AC side.
This looks like a fun project 😊 I will come back to your video for future reference. Good job on the video and the thorough explanations.
Thanks! It's given me an excuse to play even more Dreamcast than I already was, for sure. 😄 Have fun!

I don't usually subscribe to channels that dont have salmon and teal lighting, but I'll make the exception.
@@dylbob9000 Genuinely made me laugh out loud. 😂 Thanks!

Double sided tape is a great idea. I usually trim the pins on mine, but haven't used tape yet- that might go on my next install. Thanks!@raygan
This is great! Thanks!
nice project, best of luck for your channel
this was a very, very good and detailed video, and I can't even buy one of these to install lol, keep this up and you'll skyrocket your YT career!
what be cool is if it had wifi so you can manage it from a web ui even do some twich chat play mods
What the heck !!! I want to do this NOW!!!!! I’m doing it
Awesome work!! What solder station and settings are you using?
