- Antonov An-124 got stuck in mud after running off the runway, but the pilots managed to fix everything by going offroad.
The Antonov An-124 Ruslan (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-124 "Руслан") (NATO reporting name: Condor) is a strategic airlift jet aircraft. It was designed in the 1980s by the Antonov design bureau in the Ukrainian SSR, then part of the Soviet Union (USSR). Until the Boeing 747-8F, the An-124 was, for thirty years, the world's heaviest gross weight production cargo airplane and second heaviest operating cargo aircraft, behind the one-off Antonov An-225 (a greatly enlarged design based on the An-124).[5] The An-124 remains the largest military transport aircraft in the world.[6]

Things you will never see a C-5....except the original test plane.
With power at midpoint, the clamor of all four engines grew.
Ahead of the aircraft, in the snow, they could see a ground crewman with raised, lighted signal wands. Patroni grinned, "If we come out fast, I hope that guy's a good runner."

This is almost 1,5 times the mass of a B747. Try to even imagine doing something like this with the Jumbo. Incredible.
These machines are designed for this terrain. The runway with concrete is "first class" for An-124.
incredible, Russian aircraft are very strong!
Awesome!!!! Oleg Antonov was a genius whos creations were meant to go anywhere. Love that the AN 148/158 passenger twin turbo fans can and are doing the same today!
Very impressive - I enjoyed that.
I envy the TIGHT steering angle of the nosegear. I do NOT envy flying off that so-called runway.
The latest in the range of ATV's :D
Big engines get the job done!!!
I really wouldn't want to be standing that close to an aircraft that size sliding on soft land. If you look closely you can see a little bit of slip when the plane begins to turn.
An-124 RA-82078 has made it a habit to roll through the mud at Gander :) Wonder if the video is from the incident on March 31, 2007 (TSB report A07A0029)
And that's why planes do not need a 4x4 car engine.
C'mon, guys. No surprise. That C-5ski is capable to take off or land there.
Russian design their aircraft for this kind of terrain, they can land in mud, sand, ice, snow, etc. Because in times of war, concrete fields may be destroyed fast.
I wonder where that guy ran to
sums up how amazin the AN-124 is
@020808 For what? It's not doing anything dangerous and there is a fair share of 'off road' aircraft in the US.
what cant this plane do?
@keeevan I know, I misstyped badly, somehow.
lol I bet that pilot already new that if he got that plane stuck he was headed to Siberia. So it was coming one way or the other.
Holee Shitzki!
No surprise... It's russian ;)
That's bullshit! It is only slush over pavement...
slip sliding's easy!
Beside he's empty...try that on dry pavement and it will
have the tires ripped off the rims.
wow...only in russia i guess. nice people but they kinda need to "get it 2 geth er"
Ivan says Screw the FAA!!!
WWJPD?
What Would Joe Patroni Do?
haha
crazy russians
in sovjet russia...
die russen wieder mal.. :D
I'd say only RUUUUN FORRRREEEEESSSSST
This IS amazing. or incredible. your choice.
Engine three... or four if lucky.
Reminds me of this:

А как самолёт туда заехал? Он за полосу выкатился что ли?
Однако! :)
No. AN124 was not designed for that.
