→ Join me on this United shuttle flight from Austin to Houston! I was traveling with one of my co-workers and his girlfriend to help them get to experience United Polaris on a wide body. Let's just say... they weren't disappointed! The thumbnail photo is a picture taken at my job when the exact same plane we flew on between Austin and Houston paid a visit to my airport in Tucson! Anywho, we begin at Austin's gate 31 and push back. Since this flight is a much shorter distance than most others going into Houston, we were assigned a flow time, so we sat on the taxiway for about 20 minutes before rocketing off into the skies above from runway 35R. We set course for Houston and climb up to 21,000 feet, maintain it for about 2 minutes, then begin our final descent into Houston. Since there were SO many planes going into Houston at the time, we were put on an extended downwind approach (approximately 25-mile downwind leg) before being turned towards the airport and flying our approach. We land solidly on IAH's runway 26L and make the short taxi to gate C14, where this flight completes.
