It's mostly about balance and progression. People think they want instant wins, but if something is so broken it dominates an emerged meta, even in singleplayer, the fun dies very quickly. The whole joy in any video game is actually completing something. If it becomes trivialized to the point of simplicity then the act of winning loses all value. Balance can actually matter more in a singleplayer game because of this. Multiplayer games have the side effect where simply winning over someone is a good enough reward that game balance can slip pretty far before people stop getting any joy out of the game. A broken singleplayer game can lose all value in under 20 minutes if theres no suitable challenge to actually overcome.
Interesting thing about the Fecundity sigil is that the sigil isn't truly removed, it's just hidden and inactive. If you also have unkillable on a card with that sigil, and the copied card dies, it returns to your hand with the Fecundity sigil, because when it creates a copy of the card from the Unkillable sigil, it forgets that Fecundity is supposed to be hidden and inactive, so you could still do an infinite combo with the proper setup
Yeah, I think it's weird that they buffed pelt lice, given that it was already the best card in the game. Also, he keeps talking about long elk, but all I can see is squirrel ball.
The dam Sigil combined with magpie Sigil is one of my favorite combinations, I got it on a skink (somehow) and it was basically draw 3 cards of your choice at the beginning of the game.
I really want a buff to the King Fisher, but its almost impossible to do, he has 2 sigils, health does not matter because its Underwater and 2 damage makes it too op
@@Ezecool-3105 Yeah, the King Fisher could instead be 1/2 with the Fisher sigil, instead of a 1/1 with the Waterborne & Flying sigils. And if you make the Fisher sigil in the game, then the River Otter could be a 1/3. And to expand on the Fisher sigil a bit more, you could make an Anglerfish, which could be a 2 blood 2/1 with the Fisher & Waterborne sigils.
I think 2 damage is viable. Look at it like this, cuckoo does the same thing but is always opposed by a 0 damage card and blocks enemies in. So having 2 damage is balanced because it can be countered easy by a wolf or something while a cuckoo can’t be countered without a mantis/mantis god
@@therustybucket221 the probem is than 1 Costs can only have up to 1 damage, because they have 4 sp, +1 attack costs 2 sp, so a card with 2 damage and 1 cost would have 0 health, what is not possible, and a card with more stats than normal and 2 sigils is kinda broken
You can still infinitely dupe cards with fecundity , but it now requires you also get unkillable on the card, so you can repeatedly kill and play it to generate copies. Though it is significantly more difficult
5:58 So, I recently found that with both fecuntidy nerfs, there's still one major flaw, that being the oruborous. When either affected by the totem or by transferring the sigil, the original oruborous will give a duplicate, but when sacrificed, both oruborous will gain 1:1, and you can infinitely duplicate it and gain 1:1 to every single one
Does The Daus’s chimes now behave like the beavers, where they will get any sigil the daus has? If not, then that’s a missed opportunity, it’d make the daus actually viable.
@@BraveLilToasty I felt the purpose of the Daus was more so to cover multiple lanes from attackers? With a basic example of you can only play the daus but you got 2 cards from different lanes (for the sake of this say lanes 1 and 3, and aren't flyers*) then the daus shines by playi g him in lane 2 to have him deal 2 to leshy, then block and likely kill the things in lanes 1 and 3. That's what I felt Daus's best case was, and having field mice as a rare wouldn't make Daus pointless. Daus's main issue is I feel his bells should get anti-air sigil then he'd be a worthwhile rare card rather than a hyper situational card. Giving it the same buff as Beaver would be op but could fit with a theory of balance I have about Inscryption. Where each rare is just a slightly better version of an existing card (Mantis god slightly better Mantis, Mole man better Mole, etc.) And so having Daus be a better Beaver can work but might be op if it has the same buff, so my only suggestion would be it's bells get the anti air sigil so people are more inclined to use it.
I wish Raccoons ability was changed to where when you kill one of Leshys cards you "scavenge" it into your deck either normally or as a 0 cost 1 att 1 hp
fun fact: the red debug text when you play nerfed fecundity has one of the text strings say "It Had To Be Done"
Yes
So dumb why nerf single player game stuff

I am so glad boulder got made of stone. Now my double boulder in a jar + alpha strategy is finally viable, thank you Daniel Mullins 🙏
Since Alpha is only worth 4 bone now, you can use your overpowered strategy even easier now!

did pelt lices behaviour become different? did it always spawn next to a pelt?

I had a card with fecundity and draw rabbit and wow that's a lot of Rabbit's the card also had 5 sigils but cave + mycologist is insane

Yes, they do now
Fecundity nerf, meet my friend, his name is the undying sigil
My best card was beaver with fecundity and the warren sigil, I got it from a trial that I wanted to fail..
Fecundity can be broken with Unkillable. but that sigil can break a lot of things.
Huge fucking missed opportunity in my opinion for the rare gargoyle card ( flying and made of stone)
Even the limoncello has the ''made of stone'' sigil
Tonight gonna be epic 🗿👍

The fecundity nerf was too much. I hope they can give us a rare card that can have infinite fecundity just so the start can be viable again.
