Ngl, you could probably do an entire video on Speed Champions alone, with how many interesting and ingenious techniques are done even for minor details in most sets
Yeah, they are all super interesting builds to go through, I sometimes don't even know if I'm working on the back or the front half of the car until a good number of steps in :)

That Banana Peel piece is _definitely_ gonna be used in LEGO Mario Kart as, well, the Banana Peel power up!

The First Order Stormtrooper riot shield is probably one of the most useful pieces to create angles, especially for roofs, and you rarely see it used for its original purpose.
Those Nexo Night shield pieces have become one of the most recent detailing reuse. See them all over the place now it feels like.
The "Dried Flower Centerpiece" 10314 also has multiple whips in it, they are used as a flexible stem of a small flower.
Another ingenious building technique is in 76919: 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Car. It uses black spoons as wing mirrors!
And the same set uses a gaming controller for the steering wheel, as well as bucket handles for suspension detailing.
It uses a ski at the back cover of the power unit too

The gaming controller was also used as a steering wheel in the McLaren Solus GT, McLaren F1 LM Speed Champions 2 pack
In Speed Champions, the Ferrari 812 uses two stud shooters for exhaust pipes
if you took a shot every time a lego set used a banana or a hotdog as not a banana or a hotdog, youd be dead within minutes

You've probably already mentioned this, but the Palace Cinema uses minifigure speargun pieces to hold lights outside the building
The oldschool whips from the 90s, the one's with the hole on top, were frequently used as vines in a few jungle sets.
I love the use of the whip to make the fossil on display in the museum modular!
The black curled whip piece was also used as an end to the bannister in the first floor of the Boutique Hotel. Yet I’m surprised it was not mentioned.
I remember having the AT-AT set as a kid! It was a big birthday present considering the $100 price. And all this time I couldn't think of where I got the axe and shovel pieces from. A segment from one of these videos hits different when it relates to a set you specifically know by heart.

In the modular boutique hotel, a coiled whip is used as part of the handrail on the stairs on the first floor.
That banana peel will definitely show up in different colors for botanical/garden sets
Fun fact the retro hot dog truck uses the golden-brown version of wolverine’s claws as french fries
The banana peel can certainly be used to make a stylish design table

I always thought that the ghostly blade pieces as the mantis’ forearms were a neat use of parts
Also, in the insect set, The beetle's legs and bee's antennae are bucket handles.
The McLaren P1 Speed Champions set also uses a snowboard for the spoiler, still remember when I built it, it gave me a little chuckle .
Building the whole back end of that lotus is quite fun, with the way it all comes together :)
I always dig it when Lego uses paint rollers as greebling on space ship sets.
If you notice on the Chevrolet Camaro car set #10304 they use popsicle pieces as mirrors! They also use fire axe pieces on the back which is really neat.
The 2022 Hoth AT-ST set features both a paint roller handle and a fencing sword as greebling details on the walker.
I like how the Classic Space remake uses a different set of bricks instead of the 1x2 triple speaker piece

In the plants set with the Venus flytrap, I can’t remember the name. It uses a ton of smart techniques like detective hats, explorer hats, brushes, and more. I really recommend you do a video on that one if you haven’t already.
The twirly whip is also in use in the new museum build as fossils on display on the museum floor 😊
7:58 the girl from Monkie Kid's hair piece is re-coloured for Wildfyre in the Dragons Rising Ninjago set; Heatwave Dragon.
did you know that in the lego haunted house 10273 they use lego frog and fencing sword as decoration
7:00 - The Praying Mantis' arms use the Ninjago ghost blade piece in a bright green instead of the gradient of green to dark green see in 2015. This piece is also used for the Ninjago Legacy Possession sets in a green and purple instead of green and dark green
speaking about whips being used as decoration more than weapons, they've even been used as decorations to help make a bunch of even larger weapons like how the Mr Freeze minifigure from the Classic Batman TV Series has a whip as a tube to connect his freeze ray to the equipment on his back.
in the LEGO City Command Rover and Crane Loader there is an interesting way they use the unicorn horn piece to build a little drill for the set
I've seen the whip piece used before in a set I have, the Lego Icons Space Shuttle Discovery, in which there are other cool building techniques. First off, there is a black whip piece used as a cable on the back of the Hubble Space Telescope. The part of Discovery's landing gear mechanism that couples the mains to the nose gear is also amazing, as it is hidden as a section of the payload bay floor. Also, hidden in the wing strakes are red heart pieces, which I thought was cute.
They changed the whips? Darn, I liked how easy it was to turn the old ones into hanging vines.
I got the insects set a few days ago and seeing a bunch of guns on the mantis build threw me off.
Speaking of claws as whiskers Rocket and Baby Groot set has them also it has barrel container pieces as part of his tail
i love the lego ninjago city type sets because so many different pieces are used for different things like roofs plants and more not to mention the hat that was used as a rock also finally mario kart hazards
The whip is also used in the family tree lego idea #54. I built it recently and loved it! A brown whip is used as the rope for the kite in the tree!

Some revolver pieces were also used as exhaust outlets in set 71736, the Boulder Blaster.
I just got the new animal crossing sets and they’re FULL of fun things, including a chair made of arches and 2x1 curves, a letterbox as an oven and an upside down cone as a vase
Also, in the LEGO Mercedes Benz arocs set (42043) from 2015, we see two flick missile pieces used to hold a 1x2 and a 1x3 gray tile. It really shows that flick missiles can not only be used for amo, but also, decoration.
oh, on another set, the Ghostbusters Echo One Collectors set, the hoses used to connect the proton wands to the proton packs are whips too!
I juat built the Praying Mantis from the insect set and found it hilarious that his feet was made of tiny revolvers. I cannot unsee them.
The Building Bigger Thinking World Fun set from 2018 has several clever parts uses, from a hockey stick as a bendy straw and an apple as a cherry in a giant milkshake to an exclusive lime green treasure chest as a frog's mouth, to large katana pieces as helicopter blades.
One of the Agriculture sets combines a broom head and a minifigure helmet to create a pitcher plant, one of many. I just thought that was a very cool part usage even if I'm not interested in the theme personally. Oh and check out the venus flytrap while you're there.
Finally a new lego steamie, we've been longing those for a loooooong time now

I was looking in the latest Lego magazine and noticed something interesting. It was the way they made Minecraft baby turtles. It’s a green rollerblade and a smooth 1 by 1 with a shell pattern. It’s fun to see how much a different pattern can do. Maybe there’s other times like that.
The new Hogwarts Castle Boathouse uses a black sausage piece as part of the lantern design on the boats, which I think was pretty fun.
Don't forget on the moon cake set's bunny mech, there's a droid hand keeping it all together
Two of my favorites are in the succulent set as well as the insect set. Within the big red succulent they use guns to hold the leaves in place, and in the mantis part of the insect set they use golden crowbars as the mantis’ antennas
Though now that you point out the insect set I finally understand the croissants now! I was always so confused and never say them as grubs, or that the bee was made with an egg!
In the 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car set, they use spoons for wing mirrors and they also use a singular orange ski to create a rear fin on the body of the car.

We are 100% going to see that banana peel piece in the upcoming Mario Kart sets. Heck, they might even print tiny eyes on them
The coiled whips are also in the Harry Potter Chess Set, as the tops of the staffs for the bishops
This is actually very common as Lego likes to reuse the molds over making a new piece.
In fact a few years ago the Lego Technic: Mack Anthem Semi Truck had a piece never before seen in a Lego set. The Mack Bulldog hood orniment.

If you look at the proton packs in any of the lego ghostbusters sets, you'll see that they're made of lightsaber handles and whips

The peeled banana recolored to be used as legs on furnishing would be a clever part usage...
I got the Lego Botanicals Orchid set. It features two white head pieces with flower adornment to represent two smaller budding flowers on the plant. They're recolored heads from the Stranger Things Demogorgon. Instead of being tan with red detailing and a toothy motif, they're white with pink details. There are also smaller closed buds which I think are pink ice cream pieces.
The curled whip also appears on the sleigh in Elsa's Ice Palace, and the white croissants are roof decorations on Parisian Restaurant.
On the back of one of the smaller car sets the grey one does actually have a gun on the back for detail i dont remember what its called but its pretty clever
In the lego set "fox lodge" or 🦊🏡 for short they use a whip as a fishing rod
What's interesting is that although LEGO designers like to use guns as decoration in many sets, they have never done so in any set from themes like City, Friends or Creator 3-in-1. I suspect the "no guns" policy that applies to these themes means no guns even if they aren't being used as guns.

The Orchid set uses mini figure head cover pieces from the Demigorgan in the Stranger Things set.
As for lego weapons being used for other things... In set 76178:The Daily Bugle set, a LEGO Blunderbuss (Yes, the pirate pistol) is used as an exhaust pipe for the Taxi.
Look at set 76911, Speed champions Aston Martin DB5. The entire exhaust system is pretty impressive. A pistol and binoculars are involved.
The Hokusai Wave set has white birds and leaves to create the foam
Check the Maersk Triple-E model.
Star Wars laser guns as lifeboat davits.
Ice skates as radar scanners.
And, most epic of all, a bow railing held in place by... transparent coffee cups!
