Hi cory, great review, nice guitar, thanks for doing the neck pick up with the tone rolled off,, I play the blues andI'm trying to make um my mind between the big tone and the hb-35 plus, as you have played them both what would you recommend cory?
Great video Cory. Just stumbled on your channel. It looks like a gorgeous instrument at an unbeatable quality/price ratio. And it sounds beautiful I think it will be my own christmas gift . Last but not least we have the same last name although i'm from Sardinia (Mura is one of the most common lastnames here 😁)
Man I can't wait until Thomann puts some rosacer fretboards on some of these guitars. I would definitely get this and the HB-35 just for fun ( although I loathe pickguards, they would be off those guitars before I even tuned them ). 😁
Agree. I took a blind shot and ordered one last year. It is stunning and even my wife was impressed. It is only, that strings angle under bigsby retention to bridge is too steep and using bigsby puts a lot of stress to the bridge. So I omited going under retention. The only thing I didn't like was humbuckers rattling in their seats, so I had to do some adjustments with pieces of transparent plastic. After a year, I'm considering changing pickups with TV Jones, which shows, how good this guitar really is ( two pickups are more expensive than a complete guitar ).
Hi I heard the fix for the bridge is to pin it and string over the bar of the Chinasby instead of under the bar to reduce the angle. I have four Gretsch guitars and thinking about one of these. Can you please give me anymore information on the guitars.

Great review Cory. I love the looks (headstock is even very cool) and really like the clear pickguard. That axe punches way above its weight for sure. I wonder if they have the Chinese company that makes "Shine" guitars to do the HB version? I have a Douglas Jazz Box that I bought through Rondo Music and it looks like a "Shine" rebranded to Douglas. They are very nice instruments for little money. Keep up the good work and Happy Easter!

Hmmmm......This Harley Benton or the Gretsch Streamliner G2420T ?? I've been trying to save up the cash for a Gretsch but now this video has thrown me 😆 The way I see it the Gretsch has 2 advantages over the Harley Benton....1) The bridge is fixed on the Gretsch. And 2) The Gretsch tremelo is a genuine Bigsby and not a copy.....Although the copy might not be bad, it's just an unknown risk.
It would be very easy to make a trussrod cover, eBay sells pickguard samples for very little and you could design one yourself. I have customised my Gretsch guitars, guitars like these are a peice art. Normally, I think simple is tasteful but these guitars lend themselves to glitter and gold, the more the better.
If I make more money on music then I will buy this guitar + use your partner id. beginning of this month I started to make 80-100 bucks a month on music so at least 3-4 months before I get this guitar (I am not allowed to get more guitars from my work money from my gf so this is my only way to get more 🤣).
I have a G5420T and I can tell you Harley Benton's Big Tone Doesent come even close to the G5420. HB is surprisingly good guitar for the money,no doubt but has a generic hollow body sound. But still usable.
This guitar, as well as all other models of the same brand, are unfortunately not suitable to be purchased online but only in a shop, after trying them out. This is because they are full of defects and the quality control of the factory and also the retailer is not good. There are many videos available on the Internet, in which the excellent characteristics of the instruments are demonstrated, but most of them are real advertisements and the instruments that are played in them have surely already been prepared ad hoc. Unfortunately, this must be the case: who can go to Germany to try out an instrument of this make in person? Those who live nearby.
OMG!, ... I'm getting all weak in the legs 'cause of this Big Snowy Babe ... I'm Gonna Make Her Mine, ill tell ya, ... when i do ... i'm gonna use the link below this vid. Thnx Cory, great review ... like always ☺ ... B.t.w,, Nice "The Cult/Billy Duffy" Looks to it, ... but i'll probably will jazz it up, ... hmm, in combination, ... Darkish Fusion?, ...
I once played one. Terrible guitar. It is a toy guitar. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap Ibanez when you want to have a decent hollowbody because this is crap. Or buy yourself a HB XT 22. Very good guitar also for jazz.
Why do you have that ugly piece of cloth and rubber under your bridge.. Its a nice guitar, but if you need to fix some issues using ugly stuff like that then Imaybe dont want it at all.
I bought two guitars from Thomann and had no problems. I'm a Brit and it shipped to the UK with no issues. In the old days we had the joy of going into a store and choosing a guitar, I totally agree with you, now we live on a online world.
thank you so much ! You convinced me to buy this guitar and now I'm hella excited! That was such a thorough review and it really made me feel like I know what I'm getting for my money. Well done!

and still hate Harley Benton logo... makes look so cheap.
It would be very easy to make a trussrod cover, eBay sells pickguard samples for very little and you could design one yourself. I have customised my Gretsch guitars, guitars like these are a peice art. Normally, I think simple is tasteful but these guitars lend themselves to glitter and gold, the more the better.
have you ever got an endorsement from thomann? or at least a guitar for free?

If I make more money on music then I will buy this guitar + use your partner id. beginning of this month I started to make 80-100 bucks a month on music so at least 3-4 months before I get this guitar (I am not allowed to get more guitars from my work money from my gf so this is my only way to get more 🤣).
I have a Gretsch 5420t and I can tell this one sounds pretty much the same.
Darkish Fusion?, ...
du bist deutsch oder?
Sounds like the B string is flat
I think it is round :-)
I once played one. Terrible guitar. It is a toy guitar. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap Ibanez when you want to have a decent hollowbody because this is crap. Or buy yourself a HB XT 22. Very good guitar also for jazz.
Ruud Pennings ok..why is it bad?
You are stupid! This guitar is GREAT - Ibanez is a toy!
Why do you have that ugly piece of cloth and rubber under your bridge.. Its a nice guitar, but if you need to fix some issues using ugly stuff like that then Imaybe dont want it at all.
The guitar has a floating bridge and comes shipped with the cloth to protect it. If he removed the cloth he would had to intanate the guitar.
Es gibt bessere. Harley Benton 24.Hs..
You can only buy them on line in Germany! No way I am going to buy ANY guitar without playing it in the shop first! Thomann sucks!
😂😂
I bought two guitars from Thomann and had no problems. I'm a Brit and it shipped to the UK with no issues. In the old days we had the joy of going into a store and choosing a guitar, I totally agree with you, now we live on a online world.
theres this thing called gain. you should turn it up a little sometime
