VERDICT REACHED: FL v Danielle Redlick - Wife On Trial For Murder Day 7

  • Опубликовано: 16 июн 2022
  • A woman stands trial for allegedly murdering her stepfather-turned-husband, and giving authorities a flimsy story about him stabbing himself and having a heart attack. Danielle Redlick, 48, faces a count death of second-degree murder, and tampering with evidence for allegedly killing Michael Redlick, 65.
The backstory between the couple is patently complicated. Michael’s second wife was actually Danielle’s mother. They allegedly married in the first place to get her better health coverage as she was dying of cancer.
“In fairness to Mike, Danielle’s mother was dying of cancer when they were dating,” an unidentified family friend told WFTV. “She had terrible insurance.”
The account is that he fell in love with Danielle after her mother died. They married, with Danielle becoming his third wife.
The union ended in bloodshed. Danielle Redlick called 911 the morning of Jan. 12, 2019. She allegedly told police that her husband got angry on the night of Jan. 11, took a bite out of her McDonald’s burger, and spit it at her face. He allegedly grabbed, pushed her to the ground, and rubbed his fist against her face while shoving her head to a stove, she allegedly said. This culminated in her grabbing a knife, but he grabbed it, and made “stabbing motions” at himself. She allegedly claimed to try to hide in the bathroom, while her husband was at the door apparently referencing the movie Cape Fear.
She claimed to find him outside in the living room, badly hurt, cops said. Defendant Redlick allegedly claimed she tried to save him using CPR. She couldn’t find her phone to call the police, and she collapsed in exhaustion next to Michael, she said. Danielle woke up the next morning, and finally called 911, she allegedly said.
But authorities said she was on a dating app about two hours before calling 911. The state of Michael’s body also allegedly didn’t match her story. Contrary to her account, an investigator said they found no signs of Michael vomiting, and that the bruising on his left arm was consistent with defensive wounds. He had fingernail impressions on his left forearm and a bruise on the inside upper lip of his mouth. There were no signs of a heart attack, no signs of bruising consistent with CPR, and his ribs were intact, authorities said.
Those who knew the couple allegedly said Danielle had a foul temper. Even their children allegedly said she was the one who usually started fights in the relationship.
Officials said that Michael Redlick had sustained a fatal stab wound to his torso, likely dying in minutes.

For those in the comments and the live feed that are so quick to judge...we could speculate ALL day about things we feel she should have done differently. Do I agree she should have called 911 sooner, yes. However, some can say "I would've done this, I wouldn't have done that" the fact of the matter is until or unless you're placed in that situation, you've no idea the amount of shock that would set in, etc. If she intended to kill him, I believe she'd been able to stab him in a more precise location to accomplish that and probably would've stabbed him more than a single time. This world needs more compassion and less judgment. Let's come together and pray and provide words of encouragement for a mother and her 2 children to heal and hopefully at some point, overcome this tragedy. It is absolutely unfortunate the series of events that took place and that Jaden and Sawyer no longer have their father with them. I do however believe she in fact acted in self defense.

It was not premeditated, she reacted to a very bad situation with her husband, and I believe she did not want him to die, just to stop. A sad story , glad the jury did not make it sadder. I can understand how she made some bad decisions tampering with evidence, with not wanting to have killed him, she would have freaked out and been in shock. If she had wanted to kill him she would have done a better job of covering her tracks. Jury got it right.

So pleased the right verdict was reached. I felt when she was testifying that I could read into her true nature, almost like I could read her soul ; which is very honest, very intelligent. There is pain there too from her past which she managed to overcome and build a new and successful life until he started acting possessive and jealous. Maybe her confidence had gone up and he didn't like it. She started out dependent and controllable because of her much younger age and her life situation and previous experiences. He taught her things, showed her things , gave her a lifestyle but then didn't want her to be free. His possessive jealousy entered the picture and he realised he couldn't control her like he used to, and then he got nasty and did not want her to have any of the benefits she had had in life. Up until this point it had not been obvious that these things were viewed as conditional by him; their withdrawal to be used as a weapon if she did not tow the line. This lady will go far. She needs to move away from doubters and haters, move states and go on with living the life that she deserves to have ; a peaceful and fullfilled life; build a great career for herself as she has the abilities.

Congratulations Danielle! 🥳🥳🥳🥳. I really hate that the judge decided it would take two months for sentencing. In the Ryan Duke case, his verdict of not guilty for murder but guilty for concealing a death, was read on a Thursday and his sentencing was done the following Monday! Such a shame on the Judge’s part. Hopefully, you can make your bond and get released. @Holly_Kay commented “Total respect to the jurors”, AMEN! I agree 100%. Only thing I was disappointed about was not ALSO getting to see the face of the cartoon-looking prosecutor, when the verdict was read. I felt like the Judge was very partial to the prosecutors and it was so frustrating to watch. So kudos to the jurors for seeing that the prosecutors had no evidence proving that it was not self defense! I’m sorry for you, Danielle, and your family that January 11, 2019 had to end the way it did, but if you had not gotten away from him, it would be HIM on trial, instead of you, for murdering his wife. I think everyone needs to just stop and let that sink in. Again, soooooo very happy for you and congratulations.
