Actually Doordarshan shot that Ram Leela in studio with special effects . I am talking about the 1977-78-79........ I was kid and in those days, there were limited programs would telecast on black & white TV. In later years when Colour TV network began then same Ram Leela was shot in coloured version. That time Mr Bhushan Lakhandari played the role of Lord Ram. Unfortunately I have no idea who played the role of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita in Black & White version.
The first Ram Leela which would be telecasted on Doordarshan in late 70's ( Black& White ) during Navrathri days was this Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra's Ram Leela. Later it was again shot in coloured after introducing colour TV. After Ramananad Sagar's Ramayan, it was stopped. Few years ago Coloured version was again telecast on DD 2
