Should’ve added oil, and made a flywheel to put on the back of the crankshaft, so it will balance it as it spins, so it won’t just violently shake itself to death until parts start flying off of it. It might’ve ran longer that way lol.
jjohnston94 in the original intent for this model no, but as fast as they turned it yes. I know they were trying to break it by spinning it that fast, but it would be cool to see if they could balance it with a flywheel, and make the engine last.
Yes, we wanna see mechanical failure of the strongest parts not have it fall apart because of a small screw came out and made everything fail, i think some oil and glue is not out of the rules
Looks like you forgot to torque the head bolts! I've done this with my visible V8 before I actually used oil. It held together too! But I didn't go 50k rpm lol.
Peices flew at the camera at the end of the score when your engine finally snapped...Good thing it didn't peirce through the lens. Recently subd to your channels. GREAT and FUN stuff!!
Even bigger problem, the drive motor shaft and crank shaft were not aligned. If they were, then the failure would have been different. You can see it tear itself apart in the slow motion because of this bad alignment.
If you sanded the block and removed gasket you could tighten it up though if you wanted to blow off the valves. Wouldn't matter even if it was in time though. no way on earth you wouldn't have valve float on a toy engine. they are super super lightweight.
All that hard work just to destroy it. I am a car guy and I cry when this happens. 😢😢😢😢I salute you model engines for your bravery and sacrifice. 🇺🇸and since I am Irish 🇮🇪
Improvements - No added vibration to the 50k Test. Get the electric motor centered on the crank, Build a better electric motor mount so it won't come loose or shake, glue was not holding. I love the test but it could be better. The electric motor shake is whats killing it before the thing actually grenades.
i did this to a 4 cylinder plastic engine. but, i used a drive axle from a traxxas truck i had in pieces. your connection to the engine is causing a huge amount of vibration. thats why i used a cvd. still 50,000 rpm is deffinatelly going to destroy the engine anyway. lol i greased the journals with Vaseline. it lasted for a few minutes at about half of the electric motors potential. then it let go. lol the crank broke and flew all around the crank case. but nothing flew out of it. lol. we left the distributor hooked up and did it. the lights looked as if they were on continuously on after it got up to a certain rpm.. id like to retry it with a v8.
The vibrations seem to kill it prematurely. Gotta get that motor shaft perfectly centered on the crank. Thats where alot of the vibration is coming from.
My thoughts exactly..... They basically vibrated it to bits rather than purely using the centrifugal effect. No wonder the cylinder head fell off...............
Ugh, I wish there was a better connection between the engine and the motor, I find it so disappointing how janky the connection was. That's most likely the cause of the failure, along with missing some screws
That was pretty damn cool man would be awesome if next time you glued the cylinder Head, block and manifold together so I can really see what she’s got possibly even give the cylinders some silicone spray or Teflon 🍻🤘🏼
Hey Kevin i need some help with my 1/10 nitro car i got it given i love rc cars and always wanted a proper nitro car but theres things missing and no info on researching the parts i need so im at a loss here you think i could send it in for you to look at theres no engine i need to buy one and other parts but id like you to tell me what i need so i can get it up and running about it looks like all-wheel drive thanks love the channel keep it up
Should use a piece of fuel line or flexible tube to connect the engine and the cranshaft so it doesn't immediately destroy the bearings and shake the engine to bits
I dont know why but I laughed so hard when the small parts and the screws were flying around the place. Great video. What were the two songs used please?
Hey guys try a personal lube in the oil pan up to crankshaft and in were lifters are andsome in the head water base wont react with plastic plus ad berarings
if you wanna run that model v8 at high rpms you have to time it. it sounded like it was knocking right off the bat. just coming from a mechanics perspective
I quit my job and made $100,000 on ebay last year. See how you can too! kevin-talbot.teachable.com/p/kev-s-ebay-course
How good it even keep running after the manifold fell off?????
This is fake!
@@Rob-jh3eo it's not
Stop talking about and showing off ok no one cares about it
I think it overheated when the fan belt broke......
Should’ve added oil, and made a flywheel to put on the back of the crankshaft, so it will balance it as it spins, so it won’t just violently shake itself to death until parts start flying off of it. It might’ve ran longer that way lol.
That's not really the point, though, is it?
jjohnston94 in the original intent for this model no, but as fast as they turned it yes. I know they were trying to break it by spinning it that fast, but it would be cool to see if they could balance it with a flywheel, and make the engine last.

Hunter Prowse i 3d printed a turbo to put on mine
@@landon9575 thats literally pointless though
Try this experiment again, but glue every single piece together. And maybe add a light oil.
Warning danger to manifold. Slams computer pulles trigger.
Love the slow motion 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Brad Clark it's perfect!
👁👄👁
👌🏻. 👈🏻
Looks like you forgot to torque the head bolts! I've done this with my visible V8 before I actually used oil. It held together too! But I didn't go 50k rpm lol.
The engine failed due to knock. Consider reducing compression and/or ignition timing.
Bread haha automation jokes
Peices flew at the camera at the end of the score when your engine finally snapped...Good thing it didn't peirce through the lens. Recently subd to your channels. GREAT and FUN stuff!!
I see a problem the right side camshaft wasn't timed correct and gernaded the motor lol great job on the video
Even bigger problem, the drive motor shaft and crank shaft were not aligned. If they were, then the failure would have been different. You can see it tear itself apart in the slow motion because of this bad alignment.
I have one of the 4 cylinder ones, even if the timing was all wrong the pistons and valves won't contact. it's non interference
If you sanded the block and removed gasket you could tighten it up though if you wanted to blow off the valves. Wouldn't matter even if it was in time though. no way on earth you wouldn't have valve float on a toy engine. they are super super lightweight.
Should of put some oil in there.
Valve float? Naw we got valve flight
Held up better than I thought it would!!!🤣
Great music for that video! 😆👍
Why you add nivea oil? Is it working well for the gears? Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
You could try mod toy rc car with brushless motor hahaha
Tomley RC Garage awesome man. I’m gonna check your videos! 😎👍🍺
Tomley RC Garage you will need 1,000,000,000,000 subscribers. 😆😂👍
They already make them so no point
Tomley RC Garage toy grade with brushless motor. It will be fun. Blow up gears. 😂😂😂😂
My mom comes into the living room and goes "what are you laughing so much about"? XD
1.27 seems to have a balance issue,in my opinion the crank counter weights haven't been matched to the forged Pistons.
Your faces were so still during the slo-mo that they looked Photoshopped xD
How much compression do you think it made
Roland pat and Kevin the gerbil.
Love you guys👍
All that hard work just to destroy it. I am a car guy and I cry when this happens. 😢😢😢😢I salute you model engines for your bravery and sacrifice. 🇺🇸and since I am Irish 🇮🇪
Death wobble Caused the nasty vibrations Great slow mo guys😀
the valve float killed it🤣

The evolution of the dragster motor. Destroying itself every second.
Love the theme also music its perfect lol
I wonder if it would have lasted longer if the motor was balanced perfectly in the center.
It did wobble a lot!
3:16 when you have a potato classic car with this engine but you put an 10,000 hp on it
Love this type of videos keep up the good work
Got a few more like this in the pipeline :)
Awesome! The music is perfect!
Thats definitely a headgasket failure 😂
The vibrations seem to kill it prematurely. Gotta get that motor shaft perfectly centered on the crank. Thats where alot of the vibration is coming from.
My thoughts exactly..... They basically vibrated it to bits rather than purely using the centrifugal effect. No wonder the cylinder head fell off...............
When's the last time you checked the oil?
Ugh, I wish there was a better connection between the engine and the motor, I find it so disappointing how janky the connection was. That's most likely the cause of the failure, along with missing some screws
No where even close to 50k rpm
A Cat The brushless motor used to turn it spins at 50k RPM.
Can you do one and let it overheat at like 7,000 RPM? And have oil in the oil pan?
Yes kev mccalister and pat the hat proper pair of British balls , can't get enough!
Hey I didnt know that a bowl of pistachio shells were part of a engine ;-)
How is that still getting compression
That was pretty damn cool man would be awesome if next time you glued the cylinder Head, block and manifold together so I can really see what she’s got possibly even give the cylinders some silicone spray or Teflon 🍻🤘🏼

Run it off the belt. A lot of your problem is the electric motor is not concentric with the crankshaft
kev have you had any joy with the Pro-Line PRO-MT 4x4 have you ran these atall just interested make a build/vid on it
Great vid kev the slow mo was dope 🤘🏻👍🏻cya tommorow lol
The slo-mo was epic!!!
Your bg music choices are 👌
Should use a piece of fuel line or flexible tube to connect the engine and the cranshaft so it doesn't immediately destroy the bearings and shake the engine to bits
been waiting for this one
2:45 why some screws are missing from the cylinder head?
Have you timed it correctly ?
Have you bought the porche 911 flat 4 engine it is £94 on ebay
You should try it with just the Pistons in the block. No heads or valves
The slow-mo music sync!!! Hahahahahah!!!!!!
have you done any2 stroke builds the 1/5 scale buggies are great bashers
LOL awesome. Something I would do. And you used lube! Great edit. With the music, perfect timing.
I dont know why but I laughed so hard when the small parts and the screws were flying around the place. Great video. What were the two songs used please?
bro this is EPICCC!!! also nice merch high quatily
funny stuff Kevin. cool experiment
when are you going to get an e-revo?!?!?!?!?
Hey mate, what's the name of your eBay rc parts store?
You should do it again but fill it with a lubricant
Hey guys try a personal lube in the oil pan up to crankshaft and in were lifters are andsome in the head water base wont react with plastic plus ad berarings
How high does Haynes v8 model engine rev
Another motor haha bigger better!👍👍👍📹🤣🤣love the music in slow mo it's perfect
Agreed. Absolutely perfect for slo mo. Kubrick would approve.
Kevin talbot, thats just the perfekt song to something that excited😅 dude perfekt🤘
Now you should build a model engine that'll stay together under that pressure. Or try to find one
Why don't you add car oil in the oil pan
DAT valvefloat maaan :D
It's a thing called overpowering an engine the Pistons are moving too fast and engine can't even handle it then engine go boom
What motor was used
What scale is that 1/4 or 1/6 please tell me
It blows up like a real ford 4.6 !
The guy on the left: anybody else think "Ed" from "Shaun of the Dead"?
I think the timing belt was the only thing holding it together , I don't believe that's what Haynes had in mind for it ;)
Dude can i use some clips from this to form my first video
What's the music when its in slo mo?
if you wanna run that model v8 at high rpms you have to time it. it sounded like it was knocking right off the bat. just coming from a mechanics perspective
It looked like the timing belt was the only thing holding the right head on lol.
Keep your videos up the the best
This must be the new Arrma engine.
I don't give a darn what anyone else thinks , that brought a belly laugh to me , thanx
That crankshaft should’ve been crossplane instead of flat plane, that’s why the poor bastard shook itself to death, no balance
how about you put every bolt on so the engine can last longer
The destruction videos are the best
Might wanna check the oil pan
You would think for $100 worth of plastic they would at least balance the crankshaft🤣🤣
when the Vtec kicks in..
2:59 stare into the guys face
id say the misalignment of the electric motor to engine killed it from vibration.
i thought engines had spark plugs in them
wow, you blew the head gasket on this one
you should try running a model engine on a nitro rc engine
and that e-motor is called Ripper - what an irony :D
I chucked mine into the cordless drill after I tuned it and it didn’t break
That literally the exact thing I got for my 10th birthday
Oh look, it’s a typical ford mod motor, damn heads and spark plugs won’t stay on!!! Lmao
Looks like you guys need some arp head studs
That's also how a V8 engine can blow up
I love this videos great idea for a video 😀👍👍👍👍
