I wish more reactors did some background work before reacting. It can be done without listening to any of the song. Sir Hairless is one of the best at doing that. If cover may listen on his own time to original first and lets us know he’s done so. Pulls up lyrics. Still remember when he said he pulled up lyrics for Ave Maria and all it had was “ahhh”. 😮
He did understand some things right away. Remember, even the most ardent Dears had a LOT of discussion amongst themselves to figure it out, and even now we have some differences of opinion. He did get some things wrong, but it would be decent to help him understand. Just like you would with your friends. You don't just slam the door, do you?

Hello Johnny! Thank you for your sincere reaction! When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least!
Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that?
Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History.
This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it:
This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform.
1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end.
2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end.
3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war.
“People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead.
For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony.

Dimash always emphasise that we are all children of the same god(believers) and that pride of one's heritage should never turn into nationalism where you think one people is superior to any other. The Story of One Sky is difficult to fully understand with its symbolism and trying to pay attention to vocals, words, meaning. You’ll learn more by going to Dimash News and reading comments. I missed much of it the first time through my tears and sobbing. Now watched countless times and still catch little nuances. ❤

I think the message that I take from this song and video is: Even if you owe someone your life, even is someone has been your closest friend, someone you look up to, never follow someone blindly. And on a broader scale: Many people choose a religion or a political direction and stop thinking critically, assuming that everyone in that same circle is "good" and then they make excuses for each other, justifying horrible choices and actions. But even your closest friend or your closest comfort can turn on you or people you care about and you should pay attention to that. Doesn't mean people shouldn't believe in anything, it just means to not go along when others start doing harmful things in the name of that belief.
The baby got the necklace from his mother, who died after giving birth. Btw, she was the girl from the beginning, who later married Dimash (the drowning boy). The little girl who got shot was their daughter....

In The Story Of One Sky he composed and sang the whole soundtrack himself.
The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it.
He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022.
As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. During his concerts he always tells the audience he loves all people in every country. He visited so many different counties with his concerts and he realized that there are no bad nations (only bad governments).
And OMG he is such a phenomenal actor.
Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace.
In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Om", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches.

By the way Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church. How wonderful is that🥰.
He also gave a speech at the first Central Asian Media Forum, in which he once again strongly advocated peace. You can see it with English subtitles.

He is also an abassador of peace. He never get tired to advocat peace everywhere he is. This year (2024) he was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador by the UN. IOM Regional Goodwill-Ambassador of Migration.

(1) Dimash composed the song and participated in the arrangement, in addition to acting in the mini-film. The lyrics of the song and Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and the video direction by Alina Veripya!
(2) The artifact that the boy found in the trunk and that was turned into necklaces is a "gnomon", a needle for a sundial (a rustic device for keeping time);
(3) The name "Piper" (piper, or piper) is known as a synonym for "dictator", "despot": This originates from the tale of the "Pied Piper of Hamelin" (folk tale rewritten by the Brothers Grim), where a piper was hired to deal with the rat infestation of the city of Hamelin (Germany, 1284). After hypnotizing the rats with his magic flute and drowning them in the Weser, the artist went to collect the amount owed (one coin per head) and was not paid (they alleged that he did not present the "heads" of the rats). He then hypnotized one hundred and thirty children from the city of Hamelin and locked them in a cave. Dimash offers a message with most every song he sings.. "We're choosing life".. he mourns death and the destruction of human life. This is Dimash's way of speaking to humanity.. with a voice that rings the bells in the sky. Take him for what you feel in your heart.. and believe what you feel.. for you are not alone.. there are many who do. He shines his light into the dark. His mind speaks to the darkness.. "Make way" he says, "my heart feels the stirrings of life." His heart aches with compassion.. the scars of war and the desolation of humankind have endured long enough. Grace has been born within him.. and grows… like a brewing storm.
This entire story is filled with symbolism.. watch it carefully, and perhaps more than once.. if you can.
War is so evil it forces people to kill someone they once loved.
The (3) pendant(s) is a gnomon from a sundial which casts the sun's shadow that tells time, changes in the season, orientation, and geographical latitude.
The burning 'Waldenberg' sign refers to the last German resistance at the end of WWII.

Dimash sings "aumm..." a sacred sound in Hindu prayer in ceremonies of the rites of passage.
Before Dimash picks up his little girl he growls a Kazakh proverb "Man is the caravan, life is the road."
The sound of a ram's horn in the hands of a Jew signals the Day of Judgment.
Dimash shows us in an extreme way that "two wrongs do not make a right."

In my opinion Dimash is a prophet. The word 'prophet' doesn't necessarily need to refer to a religious phenomenon.. but then again it often does. It can refer to anyone who delivers messages or teachings from a supernatural source.. and one who acts as an intermediary with humanity.. which Dimash has done time and time again. Dimash is also a messenger for ALL religions.. listen to him sing "The Story of One Sky".. and "We need Peace" at the end in his 'live' version at his Almaty concert.. and then deny he is a prophet. And as far as a prophecy is concerned.. you will find one in Dimash's "Qairan Elim."
Prophethood has existed in all cultures of humanity.. prophets can also give us messages about our inner selves and our place in our world.. like Dimash does with his mastery of symbolism in "When I've Got You." Even those who doubt the spiritual conviction about Dimash and his connection with the supernatural will unknowingly be led to a better place. Others will find peace in just knowing all they need do is "listen to his voice." His magical reparation of the body and the human spirit is undeniable. Welcome him and embrace him.. for his future has yet to be revealed.
I believe Dimash's special ability goes far beyond practice and genetics and is inherited from beyond the stars. He possesses a worldly spirit for the caring of humanity, love for his family, his Dears, and his music. They will write many good things about him and the grace that surrounds him will spread to all that touch him in so many different ways. Perhaps he is much more than a great singer and a magical artist. Yes.. I believe Dimash IS a prophet.. even if others do not.. the rest of his story holds the key and is surely written somewhere.. out there… waiting to be told.

(1) The two boys competed for the girl's attention;
(2) The character (who Dimash represents as an adult) created a symbol to confirm the friendship between the three, after being saved by his friend;
(3) Still in the video we see the girl choose "Dimash" and then they get married and have the little girl (who was killed) as a daughter and the mother is pregnant with another boy;
(4) The oldest boy (who saved "Dimash" from drowning) does not accept being abandoned by the girl and becomes a dictator president/general;
(5) Dimash becomes a soldier who decides to return from combat to protect his war refugee family;
(6) Dimash finds his daughter dead and thinks that his wife had also died, so he decides to take revenge on his friend;
(7) He kills the dictator and is killed regretting the violence he committed in life;
(8) Dimash's wife is well received by people of different religions who agree that Dimash's son is someone special;
(9) The wife dies in childbirth and Dimash's son becomes a leader who leads the refugees to a better place of tolerance, respect and acceptance.

Did you notice? when he says "we have passed the moment of "Imagine"", it's a reference about the John Lennon song.
I saw a comment somewhere that the metallic symbol is a device called "gnomon" : device originally meant as an instrument for calculating the time. In its most simple form it seems to have been a rod placed vertically on a plane surface, later upon the surface of a hemisphere (source: Britannica). At the end this is not Dimash's son that is guiding the people in the future because the people walking behind him are all the same during the video. It's Dimash itself, not his son. The story is symbolic so we should not see it litterally
At the end it’s probably the symbol of rebirth. In the moment Dimash d*es, the baby is born
