The creepiest thing about this movie is that none of the characters' name is mentioned, and that I actually didn't realize that until the end of the movie.
I love the flashbacks that takes me back to the 50's era even tho Im the new generation born after 2000 still love the way life used to be very simple yet difficult.
I came back to watch this film after 13 years later after reading an article about two teenage reroute by google map in Russia to a shortcut road. One survived. That remind me of the panic these couple went thru in the film.
Emily Blunt is one of my favorite actress ❤️I like her very much, her face is so beautiful and her voice is so breathtaking ❤️I wish I could speak English so well 😭

One of the best horror movies ever made, well I even think it might be one of the most fascinating love stories ever told on screen. Emily Blunt is stunningly lovely, she made that sweet girl next door that you've been so obsessed about but felt like a loser to get in touch with her. Surely she has gone a long way since, but I truly enjoy her acting in this one. I feel a bit sad for Ashton Holmes, he deserves some more attention for his acting.

The ghosts minded their own business for the most part and they weren't all malicious. Made for a more realistic ghost story. I haven't been able to find a good horror movie in awhile, so this one was a surprise.
Has grown in my esteem over the years; and I liked it from the first viewing back in '08. Now it has the added luster of Emily Blunt's rising star. To be honest it wasn't until we had re-watched The Devil Wears Prada (2006) for the umpteenth time that I made the connection. Now Emily is famous worldwide and is soon to endear herself to millions as Mary Poppins. Wind Chill is a good film to watch anytime though late(r) at night is my preferred time to view it.
i think its a great movie! my favourite thing in this movie is not the ghosts and the scary things, priests and all that. dont get me wrong they are cool and nice and exciting to watch but i think that the bond that develops between the guy and the girl throught the movie is special and thats the best part in my opinion! The trailer makes this seem like some kind of paranormal activity crap. In fact its your classic psychological thriller. There are elements of time travel theory and i forget what he says I think the Universal loop that at the end of the universe it collapses on itself and then expands making everything happen again., really good, NOT a BASIC GHOST movie as this trailer tricks you into thinking, it's BETTER.

+David González The boy did not know that a gas station was nearby when he was still alive. If he had known, he surely would have walked there with the girl because he needed help with his injuries too. It was not until he died and became a ghost that he was able to transcend space and time and knew the gas station was nearby and he saved the girl by leading her to the gas station. As much as some people hate the boy for being a stupid jerk that caused both the girl and himself to be trapped in that horrible situation, he was the one destined to put a stop to the recurrence of more tragic deaths on that stretch of road haunted by malevolent ghosts, including the ghost of an evil cop who murdered innocent girls. The girl would have been killed by the ghost of that evil cop had the boy not protected her by fighting the ghost when the ghost manifested in the physical realm. So the boy was a hero, not a bad guy as you misconstrue him to be.
This movie is cool. I read that Sony dropped the ball on this one - I'd never heard of it, randomly found somebody talking about it on a blog. No wonder Soderburgh is jaded about the movie business. Its good, not perfect (it doesnt have to be) but great acting and a well made. Complaints: • the stupid name (its not a stupid action movie - dont try and make it sound like one) • the eel guy (some dickhead put that in just so they could have 'eel puppeteer' in the credits) • the ghost-frostbite

The movies adheres to the concept that a haunting is very much like time travel, the observer is "transported" to another time period and they witness an event happening again and again.

The movie looks good in a way, but it seems to be burdened with too many tropes, ie no phone signal, got stranded, abandoned house, newspaper clippings of something that happened in the past that turns out to be relevant to the story, graves found off the side of the road, etc.

This movie always makes me think of poor Maura Murray disappearing into the cold. And yeah, agree with everyone else, that it's criminally underrated.
Leaving the headlights on when conserving the battery was a logical thing to do reeks of Hollywood gimmicks - to make the scene look more ominous.

I think was the boy, he died, so he burned gas station for to come firefighters to help the girl.. Maybe 🤔
