Aang is a quick learner. He literally learnt from Katara almost immediately and even showed her up. So I dont think they need to prolong the seasons just because Aang never practiced waterbending in season 1 of the Netflix LI. Cause he can literally learn it in like...the first episode of season 2...or even better in the first HALF on EP 1. He doen't need as much time to pick it up compared to Katara; he does that real quick and then continues to train with her the rest of the episodes up until they meet toph🪨🪨 And People will complain, "ohhh Why did they make Aang learn waterbending so quickly" etc etc. When in fact if you're a true fan, you know Aang is a VERY quick learner and he learnt it with ease in the cartoon anyways. Them doing that would therefore be cartoon accurate and logical. Also the fact that water was the next easiest elemet to master for him. He'll also be more willing to train with Katara in season 2 compared to season 1 cause he now fully trusts her, respects her, and thinks of her like family. The scene where Katara calls Aang back is JUXTAPOSED with ep 1 when it was Gyatso's memory who helped calm him down. Katara has replaced Gyatso in Aang's life - a new teacher, and a new form of love. So I'm not worried the changes they make made sense and hopefully they make it work especially with the kids aging😭😢
I think it was definitely a smart move establishing Katara as “a master” because, with him being a quick learner, she’s also going to be a solid teacher. All the more reason for it to really not take much time at all. I’m with you on this.
i honestly think they should just do a quick montage of him learning it. hes already way taller than when he started filming and his voice is already way deeper, theres going to have to be a clear time jump for anything to make sense
To be honest, I wouldn’t mind if Aang learned waterbending between season 1 and 2, where maybe you start season 2 at the northern water tribe with seeing Aang practicing and having learned it already, if it means we get more time with Toph. I may be fine with that trade off. 😅😂 🌎

All I gotta say is they better cast Uli Latukefu as The Boulder in The Blind Bandit. He was on NBC's Young Rock, DC's Black Adam and Netflix's own Marco Polo movie. I for one love this re-imagining despite the combining of several storylines from episodes across the entire original animated series to fill an 8 episode per season format.

i dont think we're getting 'appas lost days' or 'the library' they showed us wan shi tong in the spirit world in the 1st season. that tells me they wanted to somehow pay homage to him because they planned to cut the library. The fact that commander zhao didnt get the moon spirit info from the library further confirms this to me. theyll find some other way to introduce the eclipse as for 'appas lost days' i think thatll probably be cut due to budget. to have an entire episode dedicated to a CGI character just feels like something they would avoid, especially if theyre going to go all out to make the comet eps live up to the animation.

Did they plan ahead a little by having Cave of two lovers in the first season, that's now ticked off, and maybe they aren't going to have the Library???? Soooooo many questions indeed. I would be pretty bummed if they skipped over the library and I honestly think that they will end up doing it, it might just play out a little differently.

That announcement was... RUDE! I think (hope) they've gotten enough feedback about whats missing from the live show. They can devote the 2nd season to char development and show both Katara and Toph training Aang while fighting about it. They can also use Appa an Momo more and develop them towards the start and finish off the season with them all being a team before "Zuko here!" so they can start that dynamic in the 3rd season. Or you know... something like that but what do I know?!
I'm so happy we are getting the complete story. I'm sure they can improve for season 2 and 3. I'm also super excited to see Toph.
