I use the same one with my day to day wiring in my arcade machine restoration workshop.

I'm a fan of the Iso-Tip Micro-Therm Heat Gun (Model #7975) when it's not lost in a drawer and is not empty of butane (it take butane containers that look like lighters). Most of the time, I use the Harbor Freight "Butane Micro Torch" because it's big enough not to get put in a drawer, and it's easy to fill with butane.
That Romech mini heat gun looks pretty cool 😁 Thanks, Steph 👍

Nice and pretty handy - easier to use than a regular heat gun, definitely better than using a soldering iron (that's such a pain in the ass to use!) or a lighter (burn/melt risk). I also have good experience with using a hot air soldering station for shrinking.

It is kind of funny. Giant boot over 120vac, but have nothing around all the high tension dc. Thanks for pointing that out. Now I don’t field bad about cutting those boots out. Probably some silly European law makes them add it.

Thats really cool I have one of these but mine doesnt have the shields. I may need to buy this version as the shield does a better. job. Steph really is no need to do the high end wood version for those ISO models, your standard model looks cool with the bronze trans and gold rings. Maybe just add some colour coded covers to the choke an power trans, but to be honest I like them as they are. A lot of folk will see your hi end version and then start knocking them. They will do this cos they will knock on snything unless it is McIntosh or whatever other brand they like. Your amps / product have an identity. That can't be bad for a new product brand, can it?

For all the tool afficionados there's also a premium brand WELLER 6966 that does the same job for ten times the price 🙂
I still use my mini gas torch which is cordless and only requires a gas refill once in a while. Not as good as this heatgun though on large/heavy duty heatshrink.
