I am from Armenia, i many times rested in Anaklia. Last time 5 years ago. This August also want rest in Anaklia, I miss. Project Anaklia or Lazika started ex president of Georgia Mr. Saakashvili. Anaklia is a him dream. Very nice beach have Anaklia. I love Anaklia beacuse here very rest and peaced. For resting with family is a good place! It's a shame that Anaklia didn't become the resort it was intended to be, but now it's a relaxing place.
Hello! I do not know if anyone will see this but. I am Georgian. so basically the whole story is that it was abandoned after the current government came, this happened because people there did not support the current government from the beginning and our government has Russian influence. but the main thing is still Russia. long story short Russia did not want this place to build and evolve, because that is a strategic object and there was a plan to build a seaport there.
So basically this resort is located literally next to the border of the Russian occupied Georgian territory, therefore its basically abandoned after the war.

That beach reminds me of the movie "Carnival Souls" from 1962. They can actually do a remake there in that location staring Sara Burdick 😆

I went from Zugdidi, but you can go from Tbilisi or Batumi to Zugdidi.. and then take from the main terminal in Zugdidi
