Thomas probably didn’t think that his friend was spoiled because even though he was his friend, he could not have resisted, but a miracle happened! + he wouldn’t have been able to resist the fact that his Ani and Clavabel would have been infected, then Thomas wouldn’t have been able to resist, but apparently Percy was + - a friend, so one of the moments that James couldn’t resist and became infected, I don’t think that James survived like Thomas and Toby
