The whole third album (Youngblood) is a masterpiece when it comes to lyrics. Ghost of You is one of my all time favorite songs from 5SOS, I love it so much that I sometimes just listen to it on repeat all day. The piano and the acoustic guitar sound like heaven to me. Everytime that second verse comes, the bass just HITS me in the face, I have chills and feel like my heart is gonna explode. And don't even get me started on the Calum/Luke duo. It's just PERFECTION!
that 3/4 time definitely adds to the ghost-like, waltzing that the song is trying to convey - like a dance for two with only one pair of feet. Hits the feels 💕💕

Strongly recommend Valentine, and Outer Space / Carry On from SGFG, and also would live you to see Good Girls (with the mv) and the Voodoo Doll official acoustic version video. Their early stuff was a lot more light and fun and carefree (which sometimes is the mood you want) and their later stuff is much more mature and emotional.

Actually this song I think is far from being a continuation to lie to me, for the one and only reason, in this song there’s no blame no you don’t love me lie to me, no “too young, too dumb to know things like love” so they both did love each other, just didn’t know its real value, some fans speculate this is kinda a continuation to she looks so perfect, “the lipstick stain is a work of art” vs “the lipstick stain fades with time”
I agree, Ghost of You is the continuation of the story that we had in Lie to Me. The whole Youngblood album (except a few songs) is the story of Luke with this girl. This song reminds me of Amnesia and Beside You: Very powerful songs on a simple acoustic guitar. Other songs I can think of that are similar are Best Years, Lover of Mine and High (from CALM their latest album). Can't wait for more 5SOS reactions.
