      @@Juliamalave8989 Hey. I am retired now and just do side work. So I would never recoup the costs of a 3-4-5 thousand dollar scanner. So I am researching scanners up to $1,000. And actually one of my biggest concerns is that some (many) of these scanners require you to register or activate the tool, and I am not a big fan of Chinese software going through my computer. It's hard to compare these tools because they vary in what they can do. Like comparing apples to oranges. Do you own/use one you would recommend?

    I do have a question. The intermittent Jeep no start. The scanner helped you point to the ECM. But the problem is intermittent. Could it be a bad ground that only loses connection at 25.5 miles per hour with the Sun at a certain position in the sky... Or, since the owner likes to offroad could it be green crusties that cause the loose ground? Still learning, I hope that's not a stupid question. thx for your videos. It's always great to get the tool explained to you by a master.

    • @SnaponDiagnostics
      @SnaponDiagnostics  Год назад

      That Jeep would almost never start. it was maybe 1 out of 100 tries. The issue was some bad solder joints in the PCM. If it was just a loose connection, a wiggle test may have helped it make connection. In this case, it did not.

    I have an older Versus D10 from 2012. The newest update was 17.2. It doesn't have the training classes on it. Is there anywhere else I can access those?

    • @SnaponDiagnostics
      @SnaponDiagnostics  3 года назад +3

      You do, just hidden in a different place. Once you are in Guided Component Tests, select the menu on the bottom left of the screen (3 lines) and you should see a selection for "Top Level Menus". The information will be there. There was a major update to the material since 17.2, so you won't see as many articles. Best bet is to get the 21.2 update as that is the last update available for that tool. You won't be able to update it after October 2.

    What diagnostic system did you use?
    For a small car/MC/mechanical hobby club «workshop», what system can you reccomend? We would need a scanner/scope combined, our members will only be allowed to use system under tech leader supervision.

      I usually use a ZEUS for these videos. Zeus and Triton are both combination scanner / scope.

    • @mshawnmhulett
      @mshawnmhulett 2 года назад

      My business, I use the triton D10. Zeus is great but there are things I will not use. The two Chanel scope on the triton is what I need. I would rarely use the 4 Chanel. I also have pro demand. This is a great scanner!

    Question : if I had the opportunity to purchase a Solous Legend basically new for 1000.00 should I grab it ? I’m just afraid of the update costs other than that to get a new Solous that retails for 3200.00 for 1000.00 is too good to pass up , right ?

    IF i'm poor and do not have this . i should be able to use a DMM to see a signal , correct? ALSO are these categories ONLY on the scan tool or can you go on a website and review these?

    • @SnaponDiagnostics
      @SnaponDiagnostics  2 года назад

      DMM you could see voltage, resistance, amperage, but you wouldn't be able to see the graphed display like on a scope or graphing meter. The training classes are only on the tool.

    Hello Jason,
    I have really enjoyed watching the training sessions. We do have the Zeus scanner with the 21.4 software update- During the guide component test, we do not have the training and classes?? Should we??? If so, do I contact snap on or my rep? Any advice on this I hope you will be able to advise me. Thanks again for all the information that you have shared with us.

    Thanks for the class, we can lern a lot with this Snap ON Database. I want to ask if it is better to repair only one or two brands or you can develop on multi-brands, I think gives better results in a few brands to be able to understand well the strategy of each car brand is difficult and you spend a lot of time, thank you, greetings

    • @SnaponDiagnostics
      @SnaponDiagnostics  3 года назад

      I suppose it depends on the time you have to invest on learning different brands. There are pros and cons to both methods.

      You could. If there was no signal at the computer, the component could still be bad, or the harness so you would still need to test those.

    Snap on needs to fix there scope for real. Make it zoom in not out like every other scope. Pico hantek autel. Zooming in like that tight is just backwards
