I happened upon Morgan about 2 months ago. I believe the first song I heard was wild side and I proceeded to consume all I could find. Her ability to bare all and write music that felt so raw and rang of authenticity. touched me on level few could attain. What I loved most is unfortunately lacking in this version.. I'm bewildered but hey, what do I know... Beat of luck morgan
I'm not sure what rock I recently crawled out from under here in small town Tennessee, but I recently learned of you and this is the first song I heard you sing. I have been battling my own demons. I feel it and I can't stop listening to it. Thank You!
[Verse 1] By summer's end, I predict that i'll Have finally lost my mind The doctor said that these new pills Well, they might help me this time And I hope that's the case 'cause I feel I am wastin' The one life that I have The chances, they come, and the chances, they go But the time, well, you can't get that back [Chorus] And Johnnie called me late last night And I told Mr. Walker just go home Why do the demons in my mind Never wanna leave me alone? It's the pistol and the bottle It's the drugs and it's the throttle They tell me they'll make me feel alive But I know good and well that ain't gonna help I'm just praying, praying I make it through the night [Verse 2] Well, I'd love to get to sleep, but I can't get too deep Though I'm doing the best that I can My mind wants to talk about everything i'm not Even worse, everything I am I tell my friends and they tell me that Time will only do me well But I won't shut my mouth, is it a rule down in the south That you can't talk about your mental health? [Chorus] And Johnnie called me late last night And I told Mr. Walker just go home Why do the demons in my mind Never wanna leave me alone? It's the pistol and the bottle It's the drugs and it's the throttle They tell me they'll make me feel alive But I know good and well that ain't gonna help I'm just praying, praying I make it through the night [Chorus] And Johnnie called me late last night And I told Mr. Walker just go home Why do the demons in my mind Never wanna leave me alone? It's the pistol and the bottle It's the drugs and it's the throttle They tell me they'll make me feel alive But I know good and well that ain't gonna help I'm just praying, praying I make it through the night [Outro] I'm praying I make it through the night
I still love the original raw guitar/vocal best, however, I love this one as well!!! Rare, most of the time the wall of sound doesn't add a lot. In this case it's almost like a cover from another great artist! Morgan you are awesome!!!!!
Feel bad saying this because I love the album and the deluxe and everything it. This song was earth shatteringly powerful when I saw a video of Morgan recording it live in studio. This really misses the emotional content that makes her work so good normally
I cannot understand why this song wasn't part of "Reckless"...... It is relevant, necessary and damn well performed! Would love to find out why it was left out.
MW says, she makes her own decisions. Don’t like this one! All the raw emotion and power, is gone in this studio version. Go and watch her acoustic session, to know what’s up.
I don’t know what happened but the charm that was the original is gone. They’re trying to turn MW into a more “accessible” artist and I’m very saddened. The album has great songs but feels very overproduced. Too refined, and clean. If you’re goal is to be accessible and make a great living for yourself and family, then all the power to you. But it never gets easier when a favorite of yours feels like they’re being turned into a prop show for Nashville or the Grammys.
@@urbancornbread5500 Her grit and her entire essence has been removed by whoever did the sound engineer and mixing work for this album. They destroyed what is great about her voice.
Wtf is going on with all these new studio versions? She used to be so original, raw, and impactful. Now, it's like she's transforming into those run-of-the-mill artists that you hear everywhere. If that's what she wants, i can respect that. but it's just sad to see... Not even a single studio song is better than her Tidal / OurVinyl sessions version.
Me: "The Night" is perfect. They can't destroy the magic of this song
Sony and Sadler Vaden: challenge accepted
Nashville sounds like they gotta a hold of this and that's a shame, whoever thinks they can improve on a Morgan Wade song is a damn fool.
Its always good to hear some Floyd County peaking thru them vocals.
Floyd is one of the most beautiful places out there
Dam, don't get no realer than the words to this song.
Love this song! 💙
Hear that cheers
finallly .. .
Love love love love love love love my fave!!! Keep up the greatness!
They never do help, no matter how many times one keeps trying, but praying 🙏 Always Helps....
Love your voice!
Sounds good so far Morgan.

@@moocow7191 I saw it a couple months ago so I don't just have a link handy, but it's not hard to find. just search the night live in studio

The studio somehow took a fine wine and turned it into grape soda.
I just found you my friend! I love every tune! You are awesome! Thank you🧚🏻♀️
Please Morgan, do an acoustic album with just you and a guitar(or piano).
I cannot understand why this song wasn't part of "Reckless"...... It is relevant, necessary and damn well performed! Would love to find out why it was left out.
#slumerican #slumafia #jellyroll lover you darlin 😘❤️ #creekwaterwhiskey
This is very disappointing. A beautiful and raw song like this is not some happy poppy nashville crap, a guitar and some soul is all this needs.
…they might help me this time

Yup, the audio engineers on her official recordings have completely eliminated her unique sound. All of her live performances are so much better.
Wow kiddo
No my fav version! not raw enough. What’s all them upbeat sounds in the background ???

Ms Morgan will always be Ms Morgan. Just sayin.
