G. Beroga (Gerhard Berger) S. Josanson (Stefan Johansson) N. Munsel (Nigel Mansell) S. Nakatima (Satoru Nakajima) N. Pake (Nelson Piquet) A. Prast (Alain Prost) A. Sema (Ayrton Senna) My childhood game.... Insert coin!!!!!
Alright, could someone please explain this to me? Why did the International version of this game get away with product placement from Coca Cola, but the International version of "Shenmue I & II" couldn't?
***** This is a generic raceing game from the 80s back then big companys like the Coca Cola company did not check random video games like this. Shenmue was a huge game in the early 2000s and by that time people took this stuff more serious.
Shenmue was an officially licensed product of Coca-Cola Japan, but not Coca-Cola worldwide. Trademark law regarding arcade games got strict when Philip Morris sued Sega in 1990 for featuring Marlboro ads in Super Monaco GP, but before then, Japanese copyright law would let them get away with slight parodies. In F-1 Dream, it's not "Coca-Cola," but "Coco-Colo" if you look closely.

And with music by Manami Matsumae, my FAVORITE of Capcom composers.
Same! No wonder I instantly fell in love with this soundtrack!

What's up with the driver's names being incorrectly spelled?
Copyright and trademark laws. They were much different back in the day.

More likely, arcade games didn't receive the same scrutiny as games that sold hundreds of thousands from store shelves.
