Vertical Flight Society (VFS) 3rd Annual Design Build Vertical Flight (DBVF) Student Competition

Our Vertical Flight Society (VFS) 3rd Annual Design-Build-Vertical-Flight (DBVF) student competition highlight video is out!
This year’s event challenged the teams to build an electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing aircraft weighing no more than 20 lb (9 kg) and capable of carrying a payload of at least 2 lb (0.9 kg), with sufficient endurance to complete the demanding competition requirements. In addition, the aircraft had to be capable of flying manually and autonomously.
Auburn University (Alabama) took first place, University of Maryland took second, and McGill University (Québec) took third.
