They have respect for each other as an artist. Not one trying out sing the other. Katrina Valarde singing the high notes and Jessica Villarubin, singing amazingly alongside with her. They both complement each other. They are both power house divas and are they are both incredible.
Katrina is such an incredibly generous performer. Her humility is one of the things I love most about her.

Thanks, Kellz! I am enjoying this again. Yea, I know what you mean. I see that here as well in our local Houston artists. They’re hesitant to collab with other artists. It’s musically unsupportive and discouraging. Well, Katrina is truly incredible. And Jessica’s vocals compliment Katrina’s. This is a very fine duo. Oh, will you please check out Katrina’s cover of “Can’t Take That Away”, her first vid she dropped after what she went through. As we know her hubby passed last Nov. Ok, Kellz. Filipino collabs focus on making their music melodious, cohesive, and quite enjoyable to watch; even as they tackle harmonies through complex riffs and runs and long belting notes, as well as taking difficult songs to another level by making them more difficult and intricate.
They consider every performance as a challenge to outdo themselves and improve on their skills; and even slightly altering the song format to make it different and worth listening to.

Most of the Filipino singers knows each other and actually they are friends frequently meeting each other guesting on tv shows , actually Katrina is known to be friendly easy to deal with & w/ high sense of humor.
Katrina lost her husband Mike Shapiro last November. He was a drummer and music producer. He taught at the LA Academy of Music where he was also Vice President. Director of Education and Dean of Students. He was also a professor at the Herb Alpert School of Music.
Kristina has Bells Palsy. This was the reason she could not appear at the Ellen’s show at the time.
