Once again you announce that you have a lack of patience. Why don't I believe that. Another job well done without serious diesel smoke from the assist tug indicating extra effort on their part. You are very talented, take credit for it! Thanks for all you've taught me. Paul
Fascinating how you get these large barges to dock and do it with a gentle landing and such precision. You are certainly a skilled captain and your crew are true professionals
I miss you saying very good 👍 when your on the cb to your crew...I used to make a drinking game of it and get shit faced because you said it so often! But I still love your channel and bob my cat is fascinated by watching you as well and curls up with me and watched every week with me
Tim by you doing these videos it gives us viewers a real sense of what it takes to maneuver these barges around you guys must be in tune with each other big time
Absolutely love listening and watching,,learning there is more to tug boats than i ever knew since watching them work here in New haven harbor since I was younger
We love the videos--even the new format (even in the loaner tug!); the only ask we have is that when you are telling us a side story or comment that you keep your voice at the same level as usual--sometimes your voice drops below the sound of the tug and we lose your words, which is unfortunate for us! Other than that, we really enjoy all that you show! Thanks so much for doing this--we know nothing about tugs and barges but we are avidly interested in watching about them, and we learn a lot from you.
Funny you talked about how bunker fuel gets ordered and paid for. Just 6 day's ago Vessel seized in Port of West Sacramento due to unpaid fuel bills. Scary for the crews, No one can get off, and no one can enter. Community is helping with the needs of the crews. This was reported by KCRA TV news. Thanks Capt. as always CUOTO
Thank you very much for watching Gregory. Yes. I have heard of that happening before to US flagged ships and tugs. But foreign flag ships usually have to be paid in full before receiving the product here. CUOTO
Capt. Tim, great job as usual! Glad to see your working on the side dishes (radio and chart plotter) as well as the entree. You will figure it out, you always do. Stay safe and CUOTO, Ed
Great job, great narrative. Another lesson combining skill and humility to achieve outstanding results in a technically challenging situation. For some reason I'm impelled to share what I teach students learning to dock: "Use the head before you begin your setup." CUOTO
😂😂😂😂😂😂 10 points Tom!!! (I grit my teeth every time someone comments on when they teach, or when they ran a boat or whatever. But you Sir are different) 😂 That's accurate and fantastic advice. Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Your error was noted by the committe and has been examined. Your confession, and your channel activity (RUclips- not the harbor) and your narrative skills have been weighed. You are forgiven, and keep up the good work!
My eight-year-old grandson thinks that you and your crew are really cool. We enjoy watching your videos together. Hoping I can get down to FLL when y'all are in town. Stay safe.
24.29 "Not for for those without a lot of patience" from the Capt that admits to turning too soon for lack of patience. Lol .. Thx tor the vid Capt Tim.
Once watched a houseboat " shit ram" a piling in our marina because he tried to dock at speed and slam into reverse. Took out 3 ft. of his starboard bow. The saving grace was he didn't sink and block our access.
Interesting going under the Bayonne Bridge, originally built in 1931 and modified in 2013-2019 to raise the bridge deck to allow larger and taller ships to pass. The original beauty of the bridge has been compromised, as the bridge now looks out of balance.
When I watch your videos I always have Google maps (NYC/NJ) open in another tab so I can see right where you are operating. Today I noticed the remains of barges, ships and piers, sunken, just to the East of the dock you landed on and was wondering if you could comment on this wreckage. And a little bit further East there are two or three barges that have V-notches in the stern that are different in size and a comment would be nice. Here or a couple of separate videos will suffice. I hope I've put a Bee in your brain for a couple of videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for watching James. I do not know much about the derelict boats behind the catwalk. The other barges are just other barges loading or discharging. CUOTO
It looks to me around the 7-9 minute mark, that the barge has a little starboard list when I compare both sides of those two forward boxes on the barge...>?
Thank you very much for watching. It's possible but highly unlikely. It's more likely that you are seeing the effect of the camera being offset to the starboard. CUOTO
@5:23 Some guy waits at the fuel pump with a duffle bag full of cash, and when the bill comes, he waits for change. Dude gets annoyed when change comes in pennies and nickles.
Remember you for explaining how they constructed the tanks within a tank and how the air flow system works. Also tbe economics of how they order and pay for your products. I shouldnt watch when I am sleepy hope I'll remember it tomorrow.
I looked up where the term Bunker comes from. The old steam ships had coal bunkers and now it’s some really black oil fuel for ships. I have worked with bunker but I didn’t know where the term comes from. fyi CUOTO
⚓️ Oh yeah 😎 ‘They figure all that stuff out’ …?did this guy even know what cargo is in the barge? 🌈 No wonder the CG dubious & frustrated with the knowledge & expertise of these operators. ⚓️ I’ve been on barge moves when the dispatcher didn’t even know who was in command of the tow… assigning boats for a move when the line tug was undergoing maintenance at another dock. ⚓️
😂😂😂😂 Look at you! I had no idea we had an expert in the ranks. 😂 Always amazed by the speeds at which people want to let everyone know how much they know. Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Captain I do have another honest question to ask. How are young men/women suppose to gain experience as deckhands.. etc.. if every company wants experience to hire?
Thank you very much for watching Tyler. I would like to think that hiring companies would prefer to hire experienced deckhands, but we get completely green deckhands all the time. CUOTO
Tim you know better than that. The US taxpayer is not subsidizing everybody's fuel they just don't tax it as much in the US as they do everywhere else. The cost of the fuel is well and truly covered and the US Tax man is also covered.
Thank you very much for watching. I so badly want to answer you, but I refuse to do anything that might give away my political bias. Here at any rate. If you really want to know, email me at timbatsea@gmail.com
the upside down lights hanging on what looks like a wide ladder on the left rear of the barge are those for leveling the barge while it's being loaded if so why so many rows of them. could you talk about them maybe in an upcoming video.
Just to add, when you speak in a soft or quiet tone, it can be hard to understand you, as you are not always overcoming the noise from the actual video, wind, etc.
Once again you announce that you have a lack of patience. Why don't I believe that. Another job well done without serious diesel smoke from the assist tug indicating extra effort on their part. You are very talented, take credit for it! Thanks for all you've taught me. Paul
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words Paul. CUOTO
Fascinating how you get these large barges to dock and do it with a gentle landing and such precision. You are certainly a skilled captain and your crew are true professionals
Thank you very much for watching Donald. I appreciate your kind words. CUOTO
What a cool video. Beautiful landing. Just like Boeing 747 touching down at JFK.
Thank you very much for watching and welcome to the channel. CUOTO
Tim ... "Patience" is a powerful tool when required. Another educational / entertaining video Capt. Stay safe. CUOTO
Thank you very much for watching George. CUOTO
I miss you saying very good 👍 when your on the cb to your crew...I used to make a drinking game of it and get shit faced because you said it so often! But I still love your channel and bob my cat is fascinated by watching you as well and curls up with me and watched every week with me
Very good! 😂 Thank you very much (and Bob too) for watching. CUOTO
Tim by you doing these videos it gives us viewers a real sense of what it takes to maneuver these barges around you guys must be in tune with each other big time
Thank you very much for watching Ed! CUOTO
Recognizing that you can always do better is a real strength.
Thank you very much for watching and welcome to the channel. CUOTO
Yep, when the target is right there patience can be a hard thing. Nice work getting alongside.
Thank you very much for watching Matt. CUOTO
Absolutely love listening and watching,,learning there is more to tug boats than i ever knew since watching them work here in New haven harbor since I was younger

Well done Tim.
Thank you very much! CUOTO
Great explanation and great driving. God bless and be safe
Thank you very much for watching Elizabeth. CUOTO

Thank you very much for watching Sarah. I am sorry about the audio. Yes, you are absolutely correct. I will strive to do better. CUOTO
Still loving the voice overs. We get the sound from the original video so it still sounds like it was narrated while recording.
Outstanding Dave! Thank you very much. CUOTO
"We deliver it." Tim, you're like Uber Eats on the water! 😅
😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching David. CUOTO

You are top notch operator. Very interesting
Thank you very much Chucky! I appreciate that. CUOTO
Wow. I found myself holding my breath during this manoeuvre.
Well done!
Me too! 😂 Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Capt. Tim, great job as usual! Glad to see your working on the side dishes (radio and chart plotter) as well as the entree. You will figure it out, you always do. Stay safe and CUOTO, Ed

Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words John. CUOTO
Plan A or B, you always get it done. Great job!
Thank you very much for watching Walter. CUOTO
enjoyed the content thank you Tim
Thank you for watching James. CUOTO
your welcome Tim

😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much! CUOTO
Hi Captain Tim!
It's actually good to see that sometimes things don't go smoothly, but you make it work out safely anyhow.
CUOTO
Thank you very much for supporting the channels Mellissa! Oh yes, I do make mistakes. 😂 Thank you again! CUOTO
Thank you for another Great video. Cheers CUOTO
Thank you very much for watching Steven. CUOTO
"Patience is virtue, have it if you can. Seldom in a woman, never in a man". Or so my wife keeps telling me.
😂😂😂 Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Brilliant as always captain 👍🏽
Thank you for watching Matt. CUOTO
And all this time I was thinking they dropped down a big bag of money to pay for the fuel.
😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO

💯! Time for me to hang it up! 😂 Thank you for watching. CUOTO
no error Tim you were mistaken great video as always G
Thank you very much for watching Garth. CUOTO
Once watched a houseboat " shit ram" a piling in our marina because he tried to dock at speed and slam into reverse. Took out 3 ft. of his starboard bow. The saving grace was he didn't sink and block our access.
Thank you for watching John. CUOTO
Beautiful sun shots at the end. You gave us the tug captain's name but not his boat's name. As always good show.
Thank you very much for watching Betty. Naming tigs, companies or customers gets me in trouble with my employer Betty. CUOTO
👍✅ Tks Tim👏
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
Little Pink Floyd reference. Interesting video as always.
10 points! Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Stand still laddie… yes you. Lol
Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Any landing you walk away from!
Right?!?! Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Just wondering if you have to have to have tools do they stay with the barge I think I can see a tool box thru the door on the right
Thank you for watching Ken. Yes. The barge is it's own entity. They have their own crew, quarters, power and tools. CUOTO

what bridge did you go under?
That would have been the Bayonne Bridge. Thank you very much for watching Kenneth. CUOTO
Ha just another fine mess ya got yourself out of. 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching Red. CUOTO

😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much for watching Betty. Now go back to bed. 😂 CUOTO
how do the assest tugs charge and get paid ?
Thank you very much for watching John. That is literally "out of my wheelhouse". CUOTO
Who did you knock up this time?
????? Not sure what you are referring to Andrew. But thank you for watching. CUOTO
Nimble conning. But waiting over an hour for dock men? Were you early?
😂😂😂😂 No. That's just what this place is known for. Thank you for watching. CUOTO
I looked up where the term Bunker comes from. The old steam ships had coal bunkers and now it’s some really black oil fuel for ships. I have worked with bunker but I didn’t know where the term comes from. fyi CUOTO

No longer able to do live in the WH videos?
You are correct. Thank you very much for watching Roger.
CUOTO
It must cost a lot of money sitting there for an hour and a half.
Thank you very much for watching Marcus. CUOTO
My mind is blown about keeping oil heated. 🤯 Like......how does it not explode or catch fire!? 🤔😨
Thank you for watching Molly. It's all done with fire and explosion mitigation as number one. CUOTO
👍😎👍🔥
Thank you for watching Chris. CUOTO
👍🏾
Thank you for watching. CUOTO
That sailor is probably an off duty tug captain….just sayin.
😂😂😂😂 Probably. But I think I am the only Tugboat guy that likes sailing. 😂 Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Half quadruple epidermis barge .
Thank you for watching Thomas. CUOTO
Tim you know better than that. The US taxpayer is not subsidizing everybody's fuel they just don't tax it as much in the US as they do everywhere else. The cost of the fuel is well and truly covered and the US Tax man is also covered.
That sounds like a subsidy to me. Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
How do you feel about recent comments on Puerto Rico? You have a place there and your partner is Puerto Rican isn't she?
Thank you very much for watching. I so badly want to answer you, but I refuse to do anything that might give away my political bias. Here at any rate. If you really want to know, email me at timbatsea@gmail.com
I like the new format but miss the chatter between the other boats and deck crew.
Thank you very much for watching Warren. Did you happen to catch me talking about that? CUOTO
Tim it is not you impatience is a symptom of reaching the experience years,
😂😂 Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate your kind words. CUOTO
the upside down lights hanging on what looks like a wide ladder on the left rear of the barge are those for leveling the barge while it's being loaded if so why so many rows of them. could you talk about them maybe in an upcoming video.
Thank you for watching Allen. Those are actually the visual part of the high level alarms for the 10 different tanks on the barge. CUOTO
Just to add, when you speak in a soft or quiet tone, it can be hard to understand you, as you are not always overcoming the noise from the actual video, wind, etc.
Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Pink Floyd
Correct! Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
@I worked the inland rivers so you’re Channel is really close to my experience 😎✌️
Khuuvp
CUOTO
Was an avid watcher, but don't like the new format :(
I understand about the new rules and such, but still I will moving on.
Thank you very much for watching until now. I appreciated that. CUOTO
