      @@Dlopez23 what he is doing in this video is hard to do. And the more experienced you are, the more footwork you will recognize. And it took me years to learn some of what im seeing. Excellent display of shadowboxing! This is what I try to tell my students and clients. You need to be relaxed so you can feel all the little nuances and pay attention to things like bringing your hands back to guard after punches and work on flowing properly. Most people are way too tense when they're training which is a bit like stepping on the gas and brake at the same time!

    • @ExacoMvm
      @ExacoMvm 2 года назад

      That's true I suppose but practicing movement vs actually trying to throw proper hard punches is two different things so if you prac movement/flow it won't translate that much into "proper" punching. For example look how Lomachenko does hooks here, it's not a real hooks, doing it properly ( the full body rotation as hard as you can to the point it almost gets you off balance ) becomes way harder and requires totally different muscle memory.
      That might be also reason why some ppl learn the basics but can't hit hard so they need to prac hard and faster punching later on. But overall I'm just rookie at best and that's just my thoughts :D

    • @inhometraineroakville1174
      @inhometraineroakville1174 2 года назад +3

      @@ExacoMvm Sorry but that's incorrect. Practicing the movement slowly and deliberately IS the key to throwing hard punches. The problem is when people think of them as two separate things. When you practice proper movement you learn to coordinate and time the body together as one. This is the key to power. Then when you're on the bag, pads, or sparring, you do the same thing punching through the target. It's as if the target isn't there, but you're connecting with your whole body. If you think of them as separate things, you'll tense up when you try to hit hard, and it won't be a hard punch.
      I know it might not make a lot of sense at this point, but you can trust me on this.

Something like 300wins and 20someodd losses, but was mainly brilliant with defense from the feet, just like Floyd is strictly defence with the shoulder roll/philly shell and occasional pot shots that score the points. Lomachenko is good at everything, most complete, turning defense into offense. Think it's going to be another Corner Retirement then, once Linares realises he can't win.

      rascalMatt17 I get what your saying but keep in mind that in order to put power behind his punches he’d have to change his style completely...sit down on punches more which means using the legs to pivot, which means not moving as much, also increasing power means lowering stamina to focus on explosiveness rather than quickness, and lowering his output overall...some fighters just choose a high work rate with low punch energy over a low work rate With more mustard behind their punches as well as less movement due to having to SIT DOWN on their punches. Loma uses ALOT of foot movement which basically negates him from throwing hard punches simply because he’s not building the torque from standing still momentarily to wind up a big shot..in other words he’s throwing his punches with only the power/speed of his arm muscles behind them..and not his legs (which are constantly moving due to his defensive/angles style) and the reason I state his “lack of power” is because the one time he faced an opponent bigger than him (salido, at least in terms of body mass) he wasn’t able to hurt salido or even keep salido from coming forward..and he threw EVERYTHING IN THE KITCHEN DRAWER at salido...I also noticed this against Gary Russell who despite being noticeably smaller than lomachenko was able to walk through almost all of his combinations (and Loma was hitting him with some clean, clean shots)...most of Lomachenkos stoppages as you said come from his opponents quitting , not because their hurt from the accumulated punches but because his footwork and movement is confusing and they find themselves getting embarrassed..the truth is almost all of the guys who quit against him probably could’ve gone the distance...even against rigondeuax who was absolutely tiny Loma wasn’t able to hurt him with punches....so I don’t think Loma is “hiding his true power” or “hasn’t been able to show it because his opponents quit before he can show it”...if Loma were to punch harder he would have to change his entire style...the same style that makes him good. So at the end of the day I don’t ever think he’ll be a hard puncher, and now that he’s moving up a division to fight bigger, taller, stronger guys (2 of the guys who stopped linares were the size of welterweights) I don’t see Loma being a KO puncher...just as when Floyd moved up and the knockouts went down.

      itsthehouse! Exactly, lol... it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to notice the things we explain to Loma fans. It’s not hating at all. They don’t understand the game. They are the same fans that thought Floyd would lose to McGregor

    Eh. Loma has been feasting on much smaller men. Dude competed at 135 in the world series of boxing and is a natural lightweight. We'll finally be seeing him fight guys his own size or bigger.

      Champion Empire He outboxes his opponents cleanly by turning and punishing them when they miss. He doesn't push fighters around with his weight.

    Jorge Linares is a much bigger man than Loma; he's a *BIG* 135er, built like a welterweight. This is a much more dangerous fight for Loma than people are imagining. We might very well see Loma be put on bad legs for the second time.

      I still favor Lomachenko via TKO due to cuts on Linares's face, but Linares is a seriously underrated puncher.
