PDF is not accepted. Only documents which are "ISSUED BY" DigiLocker and MParivahn is valid. Ab scan kar upload kiye ho to bhi valid nahin hai. Bewajah police ki badnaam kar rahe ho.
Dusri bast ki police wale ne khud kaha ki aap 15 din ke andar original document (physical copy) RTO mein dikha kar challan cancel.karwa sakte ho per doc ₹100 dekar.

If you want to make a case on your car, you have to give a hard copy. Without a hard copy, there will be no case. Otherwise, if you pay the invoice immediately, it can be done. There is no case in insurance.

This time I guess the cop is correct...The man was riding without helmet...he caught him legally said to pay the fine and take the bike and go..for which the cop stated he is giving a receipt as well...valid...

If you have all the correct documents in digital form and still if the police doesn't accept it you can file a complaint against the police officer in the stata police complaint authority.
He violated traffic which he have to pay fines, he denies to pay the fines, so traffic office has right to seized a hard copy after seizing, customer has time to pay the fines within 15 days , after payment he can collect that hard copy

Very bad reputation for West bengal or kolkatta traffic police. I visited kolkatta with my Andhra registration car. They pulled my vehicle to side for 3 times within 1 hr. They stopped me near three signals. They pull us as soon as they find other state vehicle. Very bad policing in west bengal. Never I will enter kolkatta city with my vehicle again.

The video is unclear. There is difference between soft copy ( photo or pdf ) and digilocker & mparivahan.
Photo or any other form of soft copy is not accepted. In this point the surgeon is right. On the other hand, if u make the challan, they will give u a receipt. There is no need to submit any hardcopy to police. That's lack of miss information.

Similar shit happened to me once too. I'm young and hence i got a little panicked. But from the next time onwards, I'm not just gonna let them do what they usually do for no reason.
I had a chat with a police officer regarding this. They know the rules pretty well. Now let’s take a scenario, you’re fined for some reason. They give you a challan, let’s say a paper one. As you get of the city, they don’t have any POS machines. Now you’re supposed to pay the bill within 14 days or they have to take you to the court. Now if you didn’t submit any original documents, it’s most likely, you won’t pay the fine (common Indian mentality). Taking you to the court is cumbersome, you will have to be served a notice first then police has to be present on the hearing date. Too much of a hassle! Instead, create your own short cut (Indian jugaar) law, confiscate an original document. It forces you to pay the fine timely on your own to get the document back. Still people ignore fines. Sometimes traffic department gives discounts on the fine (I have seen a long queue many times). So enjoy driving, but safety comes first!😅
I see the point of confiscating original documents in case of serious traffic law violations. Applying that to every petty violations, it’s not law. You know now what it is! 😅
