If you listen closely to the original titanium with sia's voice, there's an alternative voice that's more of an alto-type voice. Instead of singing those high notes, especially with something soft like this instrumental, I'd advise someone to use that alto voice, unless your voice can hit those high notes with a piano or mezzo piano loudness... :P

The year before me, a girl sang this song with the original arrangement, and it wasn't good. Without a big production, the original isn't good to watch. This version seems more raw, and you can put your own twist on it a lot easier too.

Well, then just keep on singing! If you have a talent, use it! I had a couple singing lessons and I'd highly recommend them to you if you can and if your family's okay with it. It could help using your diaphragm so much better than self-taught people do and using all of your voice's power :) Though I'm sure you're good if you can sing this song! ^_^ Good luck from a fellow singer! :)
You're singing with your throat and tightening your throat muscles, when you should use your "abs". I'm not meaning that you need a sixpack, but you should use your deep abs and get the tone your singing to "ring" in your breast or in your head when singing high tones. It's quite hard to explain and English isn't my native language, but i hope this helps.
