Osef Enfait In a duel yeah, but in a battle, where you cant really defend yourself anyways they used huge swords like this which could cut through men AND horse at once

+Rex :D I often played with him, I was like 6 at that point in time, he always played castle and always wrecked me as I think always played tower and knew of no strategy whatsoever. I didn't even use the wait button as I couldn't imagine it could be used for. Now that I think about it, my grandfather also had Heroes III, but in German. I often confused Monks with Scholars and I always went to take scholars as more skills early game were better, and got so destroyed by the "scholars"... I recently picked Heroes III up again, and wow, it all seems so different. I learned that Tower=bad, but I always had fun, even if it meant losing one game. Perhaps fun doesn't always come from winning a long, 10 hour game. EDIT: Do you have the time to share some of your memories, friend? :)
Alexandru Ivascu Yes ofcourse I just need to get the game back from my fathers laptop the cd we dont have anymore but he put the game on USB if not that ill get it on torrent i was 7 atm my Father was playing homm3 i was sitting and only watching him Loving to beat the campaings with soo much knowledge and i would only played necro and inferno cause i thought devils and skeletons were really strong and scary and i liked collecting the skeletons after battles well 6 years from that time im 12 at the moment. But i know a good quality game when i see it!
Rex :D I definetely agree, my friend :) I also thought the Champions were the Dread Knights' nemesis and vice versa. I still think that, after I think 9 to 10 years :D
+Alexandru Ivascu bruh tower was and to this day is my favourite town with the hero solmyr and his chain lightning! i always go with this town and this hero and i wreck everything with the 3 shooting characters, 2 flyers and 2 very powerful ground fighters. also the extra spells in the mage guild in that castle + the whole map reveal with grail is just the best in my opinion :D and also the soundtrack of tower is sweet too!
PAULanthonyROMERO OH MY GOD. You seriously made this stuff. I've been listening to this music for six years of high school and uni to keep focused. I hear your music in my dreams. I just thought you'd like to know. =P Really wonderful melodies.
PAULanthonyROMERO I've listened to this music since the game came out, propably because I've played the game fairly often since then, and still do to this day. I would just like to say thank you, for music very well done.
Let's put game memories aside(one of the best games ever) and just focus on the music for a second; for a video game, isn't it quite extraordinary? I played many games, but their themes don't come close to HOMM3 themes. Paul Romero is obviously quite talented but also you can notice his effort with this game...
Favorite castle and hero guys? Mine's fortress town with Bron. Nothing like marching out of your castle with an army of gnoll, lizardman, serpent fly, basilisk and Wyvern ON THE FIRST DAY. :D Damn what an underrated castle. Nearly every unit has a unique curse like ability, which gives you a stunning field advantage without even opening a spell book. And with creatures like Mighty Gorgon who's decent amount could kill entire black dragon population in one attack, or Chaos Hydra who could attack more then 7 targets at the same time AND stop counter attacks... That castle sure required strategy because it lacked archery and spell, but when you get it right, you wreck any castle/dungeon/conflux user early game like a noob. Hydra tank and kill 3 enemy most powerful bruisers. Serpent fly and Wyvern go after squishy archer targets, poisoning and blocking them. Might Gorgon go after level 7 creatures killing several of them with each hit. Basilisk tank any troublemaker unit and turn it to stone. Absolutely love this castle. Not to mention it's soundtrack theme is absolutely the best soundtrack is Heroes 3!
Necropolis castle with Isra as a hero. I think this castle was OP as fuck. You just had to fight a lot and you could collect skeletons. The more you fought the more troops you had while the other players were slowly loosing their troops with each fight. That was an amazing advantage at the beginning of every game. And eventually you could have so many skeletons that they could one-hit kill anything even level 7 targets. What I loved to do is to give them the spell "haste" so they could get to the enemy very fast. The downside was that they couldn't fly, but that wasn't a problem because you had vampires who literally never died if you used them smart. And there were the liches too so you could shoot at whole groups without hurting your own troops. The bone dragon wasn't that strong but you didn't even need that because you had the dread knights, the strongest level 6 creature in the whole game. I can still see that scythe animation when they inflicted a death blow with double damage. Best castle ever. Amazing memories.
Mateusz Tur dungeon with darkstorm. the troglodytes are cannonfodder and the harpies take out archers. evil eyes and Medusas take out annoying creatures and archers minotaurs are the back bone, manticores get rid of trouble makers and black dragons kill everything
No game will ever overcome this diamond! People behind this game and the soundtracks must have been angels themselves. Nostalgic part is definately the Rampart theme 23:22 and the battle theme at 20:10 ... goosebumps everywhere
Hey Milo, I make Heroes of Might and Magic 3 maps and campaigns and would like to honor your fallen friend. Perhaps, you could contact our Facebook-page (Masters of Sighisoara) and we can work something out? :)
I had an opportunity and honour to visit Paul Anthony Romero’s live concert in Kyiv some hours ago. There is no words that can describe all the magic, that was made by such a great composer and orchestra on the scene. It seemed to my like i returned back to my childhood, playing Heroes of might and magic after the school and listening to such a wonderful soundtracks. Many years passed, but the music still touching my soul and my heart. Much thanks to Paul for coming here in Ukraine and showing some magic and talent. We are living in a hard time, but your help reminds for all of us that goodness still lives in human hearts. ❤
Mum had the family computer in her study, and I'd rush there with my brother on the weekend to load this game up and she'd come in every now and then to check up that we weren't playing any violent games.
Natalia Wilczynska But ever since the 3D Heroes of the might & magic came out it all went downhill :( So far, part 3 is and will forever be my favorite :)
Lukasz Pietka It's generally popular in the Slovak countries really, not entirely sure why but not many people here in the UK can recognise this (not the ones that I have asked anyway) :)
+Natalia Wilczynska Well, I am Slovak and I can say I played this game for days when I was 10. I couldn't understand shit and I was happy to pass a level, but I enjoyed it immensely.
When I was a child, I wanted to learn archery, because of this game. And I wanted to write fantasy stories, because of this game. Now I am 33. My bow is in the self and I am here to write my fantasy story for this music. Thanks for everything, and long live the Queen!
My entire childhood along with my best friend, its always been our favorite game and we still play it to this day! For over 13 years, and it never seizes to amaze us, its a true amazing masterpiece that never gets old and will remain our favorite game forever!
lol HoMM3 was completely broken to an insane point. Sometimes I even ask myself if the devs didn't decide "let's make some trolling strategies, any ideas?": - Let's make Armageddon spell, super powerful, will wipe out entire armies on both sides but Fire Genius are immune, so a small stack will be able to wipe out entire factions! - hey that's a cool idea! But since this army can be avoidable, let's add Flying Boots so that army can go wherever it wants and blitz alone an entire map! - I have another idea, let's make a Area of Effect Berzerk so that the enemy army completely annihilates itself! - This cheating, I have another idea: "Cloak of Undead King" that spawn thousands of Liches after every fight, completely overwhelming all factions at late game! That said, it's by far the best strategy game ever!
I remember how much I waited for HOMM3 in the beginning of 1999. I was so excited with HOMM2 that I bought original CD of HOMM3 a month before it was released in my country. I just couldn't believe how AWESOME and GROUNDBREAKING was that game
I remember playing heroes 3 as a kid and sometimes I would just stop and listen to the music. What a great game. Such a shame ubisoft got their disgusting hands on it and ruined it
A few hours ago I went to a concert by Paul Anthony Romero with the LUMOS Orchestra and the Yevshan Galician Chamber Choir in Kyiv - it's fantastic! Thank you Maestro!
Although it's 2022 I can not be the only one coming here for nostalgia. Remember the winter holiday times when i was 11 yo, I kept playing Heroes 3, fat snow flakes falling outside the window, sitting in my warm room and drinking tea. War, pandemic, inflation anything of that didnt exist in my mind.
I remember I was in kindergarden and I told the teacher that 8+8=16 and she is like "where did you learn that?". I learned by combining stacks in Heroes III.
amazing how many sleepless nights and days went on playing this amazing game! this is my childhood! i still play it today at the age of 29, every weekend.
To this is day this one of the best strategy same soundtracks ever. As an amateur composer myself, I wish the scores were available so I could study them. My favorite is the Necropolis theme; I love how they integrate the traditional Dies Irae theme in the viola solo.
learning that Romero did everquest too, I notice bits from 37- water theme in a his song for everquest plane of tranquility. The cross over between Heroes and Everquest is profound.
One of the most memorable soundtracks ever! Can't believe how much memories this brings back and listening to it again just makes me think back to how genius the developers of this game was. They payed so close attention to the details and made sure the soundtrack was as special as it was.
God, cant get enough of this. From time to time i still play this game with a friend. The first time we played against each other was when we were around 11 years old. Now we are 24.. time flies and this game stays gold. Also, the mods like Wake of Gods and Horns of the Abyss are worth trying!
Some of the most epic moments in my gamer's life were playing this game. The best game in the series by far, and still hasn't been dethroned as one of the best mixes of tactical wargame, turn-based strategy and RPG.
People say young dont read. Playing campaign is like a game with a story book. Basically an interactive novel if you read all the messages. All with an opera Leitmotif soundtrack. And for all non-native english speakers a great way to practice english an appreciate visual and musical art, combined with a good logic and fun game in a beautiful fantasy world. What a gem of a game and a time we live in. This is so unique in human known history. What more can you ask.
I started playing HOMM2 in 1997. There was something really special about that game. When HOMM3 came out I was mesmerized by the gameplay, but more importantly, by the soundtrack - both just fit together perfectly. This is one of the best pieces of cinematic orchestra music ever. Thank you Paul Anthony Romero for composing it and PecoreSoundtracks for the upload.

Какая же это легендарная музыка. Когда засыпал, было очень грустно в моменте, понимая, что это время уже не вернуть, оно где-то там, в прошлом. Очень грустно и прекрасно
Это не так страшно, надо радоваться тому, что это было....
Not gonna lie, when I was several years younger, I listened to Rampart theme and imagined myself living with the centaurs, dwarfs, elves, droids, unicorns, pegasi, and the dragons. Immersing myself and just imagine befriending those creatures and living in that secluded beautiful forest and mountain part.
I always thought the archangel had a cool outfit.
MAN I love this game. It's like the most complicated board game of all time in video game form.
The Armor looks like from a roman centurio, but the blonde long hair and the beard kinda looks like a viking, whats going on there? :O
*****
And the sword is neither Roman nor Viking...
ChaosCollection
its a fantasy sword :] in real life this kind of sword would be useless ( in a swordfight i mean )
Osef Enfait
In a duel yeah, but in a battle, where you cant really defend yourself anyways they used huge swords like this which could cut through men AND horse at once
ChaosCollection
Two handed swords yeah, what I was trying to say, no battlesword was made with gold finitions and carvings on the blade, except maybe parade swords for kings, stuff like that
holy shit these shivers
I am the uploader, i worked at this video at least for one whole day and heared all the songs more than 10 times at this day...but im not tired of it, i still hear it, at this moment. Is anything wrong with me or is this soundtrack just so amazing?
There is nothing wrong with ya m8 i feel the same when i listen to these songs and i sometimes purpusfully pause so i can listen but the favorite i have its when a day pases and the violin starts playing
It is.
Thank you, this soundtrack is amazing. Pity that Heroes series seems to die (except not really).
The same my friend, the composition is so well designed that it never gets boring...
Not only is this one of the strongest soundtracks ever composed, you did a banger of a job stitching it together!
Это больше чем музыка для меня
Большую часть времени я проводил в этой игре из-за её величайшего звуко сопровождения.

i wish i could rewind time... sit next to my dad when i was like 5 years old and watch him play this game...
+ThePro AS WELL!
I haven't played this game for more than 20 years, but still remember some of these masterpieces. That soundtrack is so fantastic

OH MY GOD. You seriously made this stuff. I've been listening to this music for six years of high school and uni to keep focused. I hear your music in my dreams. I just thought you'd like to know. =P Really wonderful melodies.

I've listened to this music since the game came out, propably because I've played the game fairly often since then, and still do to this day. I would just like to say thank you, for music very well done.

Fun fact: If you go to your heroes III folder and open the one called MP3, you can find all the games tracks there.

Let's put game memories aside(one of the best games ever) and just focus on the music for a second; for a video game, isn't it quite extraordinary? I played many games, but their themes don't come close to HOMM3 themes. Paul Romero is obviously quite talented but also you can notice his effort with this game...
completely agree,i can't think of other game that has so beautiful and unforgettable soundtracks

I love this castle too as well as music from it! :)
Castle is human town dude, swamp town called fortress
yeah,, meteor shower rock dude, together with earth magic mastery, you can raise dead
Mateusz Tur dungeon with darkstorm. the troglodytes are cannonfodder and the harpies take out archers. evil eyes and Medusas take out annoying creatures and archers minotaurs are the back bone, manticores get rid of trouble makers and black dragons kill everything
it's incredible how powerful these sounds can be when you recover them digging in your memory, you as a child in front of that old computer
No game will ever overcome this diamond! People behind this game and the soundtracks must have been angels themselves. Nostalgic part is definately the Rampart theme 23:22 and the battle theme at 20:10 ... goosebumps everywhere

Me too))) It was magic, a fragile piece of old life and a promise of new hope at the same time.

Kevin Owens hi Kevin can I challenge you this game
Best soundtrack! Best strategy game! Thank you for bringing back memories!
lol HoMM3 was completely broken to an insane point. Sometimes I even ask myself if the devs didn't decide "let's make some trolling strategies, any ideas?":
- Let's make Armageddon spell, super powerful, will wipe out entire armies on both sides but Fire Genius are immune, so a small stack will be able to wipe out entire factions!

I wish people understood that this is more than a game. This is an alternative, beautiful and rich universe where I spent most of my youth.

Combat 4 theme... What else can I say?

Okay, you've convinced me. I'll replay all parts of HoMM 3 again.
Best OST in gaming history period. I can listen to these for decades and still enjoy it.
