Jared made an excellent point in comparing the $100 difference between the two. He said while you might save $100, spending the additional money could in essence save you in the long run in medical bills because the A3 has the additional protection. And that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for this video.
Since making this video I crashed pretty hard, head first into a tree, and the A3 saved my head. I walked away without a scratch. Troy Lee also offers a 30% off crash replacement, which is pretty cool. glad you liked the video 👍🏻
@@nogoogle6349 yes 👍🏻 I have the Troy Lee Stage Helmet, and I love it. I’ve also just recently bought a TLD A1 with MIPS helmet because it’s way cheaper, and I’m curious to see how much I like it.
Came to check out the vinyl wrap vid, stayed for the reviews! I went back and forth, but for $49 right now for the A2, I grabbed 2 of them for my sons.
As always, a great video Jared. I like how you set up the videos and how you present. Great comparison, keep up the good work and have fun buddy. Ride on
@@nogoogle6349 It’s really hard to get the right size without trying it on. I recommend ordering through Amazon and return the size that doesn’t fit. Or find a LBS that sells them.
Thank you much 🤙🏻 Idk if I got a chance to respond to this yet. Sometimes comments don’t show up on the RUclips app, then I see them later in my RUclips Studio app.
These helmets are some of the few that come in an XL size. I have a 63 cm 24.5in head and was having a hard time finding a helmet that fit. I go the A2 but the buckle is so so. WIth gloves it would likely be difficult to operate. This is a great vid. Thank you
@@JaredHoff good to hear it. I'm trying to decide on which helmet to get as I wait for my alpine trail e2 to arrive. I just had an A2 delivered but the buckle was small. I was looking at the a3 and love the idea of the magnetic buckle. If you had to choose one which would it be? Im just a rec rider mostly on paved or groomed trials to get started.
Excellent review and I am with you bald brother. You would be great factory tester to help bring comfortable helmets to hairless people everywhere. Think product developers don't realize what a difference having hair makes. Just picked up A3 for my son $124. Thanks for the great head to head review
Thanks for the great review! The A2 is now about $70 vs the A3 is $250, which I dont justify paying that much. I prefer the magnet buckle over the clip though. Just dont like the price of the A3 lol
As a bald guy myself - what size are you wearing and how is the fir? I'm interested in the A3 but it says I take a S and I have always taken a M in all my other helmets. Does the extra padding supplied make up the difference if you use it? (A3)
I have a size L/XL. I’d order both sizes from Amazon prime and return the one that doesn’t fit. But I know that cost more upfront. amzn.to/3JJ6xdf Added the link I case you want to use it.
Good review. I currently own an a2 and consider upgrading. Could you tell if the extra cover of the a3 causes problems when you wear glasses (like Oakley Radar by example)?

@@JaredHoff question for you. My head measures 59cm which size of A3 should I go with?

I went with the A3 for riding my EUC. Thanks for the video. Killer deal at the Bike Closet. 149.00 shipped.
Glad that you were able to find a old deal! I’m still loving my A3 helmet 🤙🏻
Man. That's some refreshingly good content.
Subbed and waiting for more. Thx man!
Thank you! Much appreciated. I had fun making this vid.
Would have liked a close-up visual on the inside of the A3 helmet and also the A2. Maybe the next video?
Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been testing different helmet’s lately but TLD has always been my favorite.
This is an awesome video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it. Thank you for the feedback 👍

I’m actually using the A1 helmet now and loving that as well. I have a huge head and wear an XL

You got a good price on that A3. These helmets are too expensive, but don’t want to cheap out when it comes to protecting your dome 👍🏻

Definitely 👍 sometimes you can find the A3 on sale but only in one specific color or size etc.
@@JaredHoff most on sales are xs or s or sizes that rarely bought.
black with camo? nice, or is it dark blue ?
Black
As of today 06/20/22 Amazon has it for $178.57 for the A3.
That’s a good deal. We’ll still expensive, but cheap for a good helmet 🤷🏼♂️
@@JaredHoff I personally own the Fox Speed Frame Pro, which fits perfectly on me, but that's just me..
@@JaredHoff But I do Love my two Troy Lee dirt bike helmets better than Fox.
@@gray_wolverine63 that’s a good helmet too 👍🏻

Would you use A2 over A3 if the padding was better?
Yes 👍 They are both great helmets
