Greetings, tankers! With you INDOMITO and a review of the Škoda T 56 in World of Tanks of the Czechoslovak premium heavy tank of the 8th level. Its first appearance together with a branch of Czechoslovakia strands created a sensation and everywhere next to its name there was only one word - imba. We will find out in this article whether this tank is as good as everyone says it is.
The Tier 8 tank received at its disposal a 130 mm gun with one of the highest one-time damage among its classmates - 460 units. At the same time, it has a drum for 2 projectiles, so in a matter of seconds the Škoda T 56 is capable of inflicting about 900 units of damage, and this is a serious argument even against 10 levels.
The situation with armor penetration is sad: the basic armor-piercing projectile is 208 mm, and the special armor-piercing projectile is 248 mm. One conclusion follows from this - you will often have to switch to gold shells, which reduces the efficiency of farming. For example, T34 and Bofors Tornvagn. Both types of projectiles have a good flight speed of 1020 m/s.
Accuracy at 100 meters of 0.4 is not the worst, but it cannot be called normal either, so even the use of gold shells does not guarantee stable damage. The tank lacks accuracy of fire, so shells can fly to any place within the range. The aiming time is also average: 2.88 seconds, which is basically normal, considering the caliber of the gun.
However, not everything is so bad with the weapon. The Škoda T 56 has quite normal gun stabilization, so even taking into account such information and accuracy, it often flies “out of whack.” The drum reload time is 24 seconds, which allows you to fire about 4.37 shots per minute with a potential damage of 2009 units.
The safety factor is 1500 units, which is the norm for level 8. Although the hull armor is ricochet, in general it will not always be possible to tank even single-level heavies. NLDs penetrate tanks with a penetration of 175 mm, and VLDs, taking into account the reduction, in the best case, tank something up to 240 mm. You can try to tank by turning the hull, but there is a vulnerable area (armor line) between the hull and the rollers, it is clearly visible even in the game - the armor there is 70 mm.
Therefore, the only option for tanking is the turret, which also has additional protection in the form of screens (protected from landmines and cumulative charges). Although it does not have ultimate armor, it is quite capable of withstanding level 8 and 9 shells, of course, if they do not target two vulnerable zones:
Commander's cupola - 170 mm.
The section of armor next to the gun is on the same side where the turret is located -220 mm.
Vertical guidance angles are -8/15°, so the only option to keep HP intact and not to waste the safety margin ahead of time is to play from the terrain, “trading” the right side of the tower, or to hide the hull behind cover as much as possible.
The maximum speed of the Škoda T 56 is 35 km/h, and the specific power is 13.54 hp/t, so in terms of dynamics it is very similar to the Object 254U “Defender”. Among the non-displayed parameters, it is worth noting the mediocre resistance to different types of soil, so the speed may be reduced on rough terrain.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Advantages:
large alpha strike;
the presence of a drum for 2 shells;
the ability to cause enormous damage in a matter of seconds;
acceptable stabilization;
shielded cast tower;
damage per minute is greater than that of many classmates;
both types of armor-piercing shells have better normalization.
Flaws:
low armor penetration on basic and special shells;
mediocre accuracy;
weak hull armor;
there is a lack of mobility.
