This is the song that saved his career. Because before he released this song his first album, Life through a lens, only sold 30 thousand copies and his record company wanted to drop him. Then on the first of December 1997 he released this song and sales of his album soared. His former Take That band mate Gary Barlow's career collapsed a couple of years aftet leaving take that after having two number one singles. Then his further songs failed to chart. And he was forced to abandon his music career until Take That reformed at the end of 2005.
Not particularly a Take That/Robbie Williams fan, but after watching his brilliant biopic, I have a whole new appreciation for this man's passion, love and persistence to be the person he always wanted to be. What's more, his personal journey is an amazing reflection of the British soul. Truly, one of the musical gods ...
Do you know if Robbie really learnt of his nan's death just before the TOTP's gig or was this for dramatic effect. If it is true, what an awesome performance ... so heartfelt, just as in the film.
@ I don’t know exactly what’s true or false from the biopic but you can clearly see his eyes are swollen from crying. Usually he doesn’t look like that when he performs 🤷♀️
Красавчик! Поёт как дышит,всегда живьём!Обожаю!Какое счастье,что случилась у Роба эта песня-она сделала его тем,кем он стал и остаётся и сейчас-суперзвездой!❤️❤️❤️❤️
